Riven’s designer on her gap-closing abilities

Each portion of her Q and her E roughly move her about the same distance and thus she’ll be able to move 1000 units by using her entire Q array and her E dash. She just won’t be like Irelia / Xin / Lee Sin, where they just kind of click on you and teleport on top of you and then you die.

It’s funny because it’s true.

I swear in the game I was just in our Cho used his flash so he could steal wraiths from me.

Also, despite having Cho and Singed I pretty much had to do all the initiating as Renekton.

What are you starting with (item wise)?

Don’t over use W for the AoE. It’s super expensive - 100m per cost, compared to Q’s svelt 40 mana. In fact, try not to use W unless you really need it, or want to really harass an opponent. 1v2 I felt like Doran’s is a must, but mid I often start with a blue crystal + pot to get a leg up on catalyst.

I can’t think of any time I’d want to start with a mana pot. Mana pots are almost never worth it. Look at what you pay, look at what you get.

This is a really fun game.

Mini-Cyn and I both play it.

I seem drawn to the range Champs. Only just started and own Ashe and Sivir.

Do pretty good with Ashe. Still learning Sivir.

When I first started I tried out a bunch of different champs, did good sometimes and did terrible other times. Now I’ve reached level 21 and I find myself afraid to try new champions, I’ve settled in a rut and I’m terrified of performing really badly.

I tried the idea of practising in a bot game first, but after doing really well as Leona and then promptly being stomped and stomped hard by humans, I don’t think that’s particularly helpful except to aid item order testing. Even then you’ll have too much gold.
