She has a ton of damage. With RoA she’s not nearly as squishy. She can initiate. She has quite a few things she can do to swing a team fight. She can spam Q.

I tried the idea of practising in a bot game first, but after doing really well as Leona and then promptly being stomped and stomped hard by humans, I don’t think that’s particularly helpful except to aid item order testing. Even then you’ll have too much gold.

Eh, bot games are useful. They’re good for getting comfortable with a champ’s abilities. But most of the learning comes in live action. Just accept that and keep trying. Never, ever expect a bot game performance to be indicative of how a real game will go.

Yeah, I figure everyone shouts “OMG OP!” for a reason. Her ult in a crowd of bad guys is funny to behold. I’m still not sure when I should use which power in the team fight, I tend to go Q, R to pull them close, W to damage/slow them and then look to shield someone before Q’ing again. I think there are probably timing things I could improve.

Tried blue crystal and sticking to Q and felt much better about being mid. I think I could have Flash/Ingite/Q’d Le B to kill her a couple of times at one point but her evades and nukes probably would have prevented me - er - point being, I was harassing well with Q and not running out of mana so easily.

I still don’t see my Ranked ELO. I’ve played eight games now (I probably don’t want to see it, given that I’ve lost the last five in a row).

Where exactly is it supposed to show up? I’m sure I’m overlooking it, but I don’t see it. When I went to look at the official website ladder, my name doesn’t show up either.

Is it somewhere on/near this screen (which is where I would logically expect it to be)?

I can’t think of any time I’d want to start with a mana pot. Mana pots are almost never worth it. Look at what you pay, look at what you get.

My Taric bot lane support start is regrowth + mana pot (for the fast philo.)

On another note, I’ve been on vacation for ~ 10 days now, and haven’t played LoL (or any video games) in what feels like forever. It’ll be strange to come back to the game in a few days and be even worse than usual.

I’ve started playing a few games of this. I’m not a big fan of the genre but I’m giving it another honest try, to learn more about its nuances.

I’ve played as fiddlesticks, malphite and katarina. So far kat has been fairly successful. It seems to mostly depend on the aptitude of the rest of the people in my lane. My last game, a guy went 0/15 and I was sad.

Anyway, some of you guys play with each other right? How do you organize games? I wouldn’t mind hopping in one every once and a while if you don’t mind a player who doesn’t know any of the champions very well.

Some questions: How do you use the active ability on an item? I assume there’s a better way that right clicking on it?

Also, I assume many of you play with the camera unlocked? Do you generally move it around by dragging near the edge of the screen? Or middle click? or arrow keys somehow? What works well? I don’t mind the locked camera, except when I’m on the top side. The camera kind of sucks and you can’t see much from the top side.

You use the numbers from 1 to 6 (depending on item position) to use the items.

I play with the camera unlocked, i either click on the map to focus or push the mouse at the edge of the screen, during fights sometimes i hold the spacebar to lock the camera.

We all use unlocked, and you can un-bind the middle-mouse-moves-the-map option so you can use it for voice coms, which is what I do. As for friends and whatnot, see the first post :)

Ah cool, thanks. Another quick question, is there a way to stop the game from intercepting my global audio player hotkeys? Normally I hit ctrl-alt-c to pause/play music, but LoL seems to block this somehow (most games do not). Anyway, not a big deal. Just curious if anybody else ran into that or not.

Lost my first match. Had a player drop on our side.

Was really hard to deal with 5 bots with just 4 players.

I’m still learning “the ropes” of the game.

There are some terms used to describe Champs that I kind of understand and ones I am not understanding correctly.

A couple examples would be support and pusher. Is there a wiki or something with this info?

Also, my summoner name is Cynicor.

Pusher = Pushes the lane all the time
Support = Well… supports other champions.

Pushers are champs who are extra good at pushing lanes of minions. Support are less offensive, but have support abilities. Carries are champions that tend to start weak, but get much better as the game progresses (with proper feeding). Junglers hang out in the jungle and gank.

Feeding? I’ve heard it before and didn’t get an answer when I asked what it meant. (I mean beside the obvious probable meaning)
