Just jump straight into intermediate and get owned by Trundle and Shen over and over again.

Yeah, I do that. But being able to refill life from the creep wave is still easier than popping back and hoping that they don’t swing a couple of guys over to do a fast lane push at the same time.

Welcome, fellow decrepit, reflexless old man. :)

And Annie and to a lesser degree Ryze. Their stun/roots are nasty.

Gotcha

Thanks

I definitely plan on being owned.

I don’t get the upgrade thing. I am clicking on something I purchased and then I buy the additional things in the tree to improve the original inventory item?

Is their a clan/guild/group of these? ;)

Sounds like you get it. Ideally, you have a plan for what things at the end of the tree you want and work your way up, but just poking around and/or going with the suggested items works in the beginning.

LS/SV is great for lane sustain and, to a lesser degree, teamfights/pushing. However, you do want to go back regardless. Ideally after you’ve killed the other guy, or when they’re going back, or if you’ve pushed a large wave to their tower. Or if staying is a death sentence, of course. Staying in lane isn’t a good goal, as buying stuff–even cheap stuff like Doran’s, and even more so things like Phage–dramatically increases your power. If you stay in lane forever and the other guy–let’s say Renek–gets a Brutalizer, boots, and another Doran’s Blade or two, you’re in for a world of hurt, level advantage or no.

That makes sense. Part of it is that I feel like I go back too often, when I don’t have enough gold to buy anything meaningful (or when I’m saving up for something big).

Part of that, I know, is also not taking quite such a beating in the first place. :)

So, Ryze is meant as a mid champ, yes? Or optionally mid or bottom, depending? I feel like trying to getto grips with him again.

You guys can add me and to the original post if you so desire. :)

Tyjenks = Tyjenks

Note to self…Singe is hard. Met a nice guy that gave me a few pointers in my first match where the AIs destroyed us. Suggested mobafire as well. Off to research. Thanks all.

Feckin TBS players ;)

Also don’t go to mobafire, go to Solomid instead. Use the featured guides for any champion you are wondering about, they will be far better quality then picking up random guides on Mobafire (as they are written by professional players).

To be fair though I’d advise not worrying about any of that until you are at least lvl 5, if not higher. Just worry about general stuff till then (Again, you’ll find plenty of links for that sort of stuff in the OP. I’ve been trying my best to keep stuff up to date) and above most, having fun!

:P

One other thing, are you given a random set of champions when you sign up? I have anough points to get one other one. Looks like Ashe/Ryze or one of the other noob ranged Champs will do, which I do not have…

There is a champion rotation (consisting of 10 randomly chosen champions, although they try to have at least one of every “class”) which changes every week. My advice would be to play all of them at least once, or at least as much of them as you can, to see if you like them/know what they do for when you come up against them. It’s a very neat way to slowly introduce yourself to the game, as it forces you to switch up champions regardless (at the end of the week).

All of the 450IP champions are quality and you won’t regret purchasing any of them so feel free to blow your cash if you want. I will advise to only use IP to unlock champions though, save RP for better stuff (If you ever get any).

RP is used to buy Teemo skins.

Cool. Cool, cool, cool.

Very cool feature.

There are always champs that are free to play; the specific champs that are free to play cycle every so often.

Ashe and Annie are both available (I think) for low IP points (450 if I recall correctly). Both are very good ranges champs. Ashe may be a bit more intuitive for starting out.

If you go to the champion purchase screen, you can arrange them by IP cost (IP are the free points you get for playing and winning games).

Also note, you get a 150 point IP bonus for winning a match once per day. You also get it for bot matches (I believe).

Using RP to buy champs makes sens if you’re saving IP for runes/rune pages.

Poppy is kind of iffy (don’t grab her first), but 450 ip isn’t a big deal in the long run.

Whaaa, Poppy is 450 now?

Crazy.
