Also Pogo, Chaox doesn’t use Q to last hit for urgot, he just auto attack like every other range champion, the science of last hit really just comes down to knowing the attack range of your champion, and length of time between right clicking on a creep and it taking damage. harder for some champion, easier for other. Soraka is hard because her projectile takes foreeeever while caitlynn is easy because her projectile is almost instantaneous.

I would say it differently. Particularly with the slower autoattack champions, you are trying to time the point when your minions grind their minion down to a point where a last hit will kill their minion, but before your minions just completely kill their minion.

That is the real difficult in last hitting for me (at least when I’m not being heavily harassed, which is a separate thing). It’s watching their minion’s healthbar drop and trying to figure out when to let fly, because you know even after you right click, your minions are usually going to do a bit more damage before your shot gets there.

And you want to do it at a point where the opponent has to choose between harassing you or get a creep themselves (ideally) to minimize the damage you’ll take…

I asked for help in finding said videos, because as a person who is new to the game I wouldn’t know whether or not a video is worth paying attention to. I looked and could not discern what to watch. I specifically asked for a link to an appropriate video because I had failed to find one. So when I ask for help in finding a quality video or the guide that everybody is talking about but not linking to, I don’t need a link to lmgtfy or the index of a competitive LoL fan site. That’s not helpful. I was not born with the knowledge that that site only carries quality videos. It seems like you were more interested in saying I was lazy or inept than you were in helping. So if you were genuinely trying to be helpful, forgive me if my response was curt.

Odds that Irelia gets nerfed in the near future? I want to buy her but I’m a bit worried about that and she’s really expensive. I bought Xin after I thought they were done nerfing him and then he took two more. If not her, maybe Lee Sin or Renekton.

Somebody should link either the aforementioned last hitting guide video, or such a high elo video. That would be like, helpful to us noobs who are potentially bad at the internets and don’t know good LoL teams by name.

you know it’s a competitive league of legend site, you know all the competitors are basically high elo, yet you complain that you are unable to find a video. When on the front page itself, there is a link of videos.

Chaox does use his Q to last hit when necessary. I see him do it a couple of times in that video.

Agreed with your last hitting advice, and I’d also add that it’s important to get a quick understanding of which of your caster minions are attacking enemy minions. It’s also worth noting again that caster minions have less health and therefore their health bars are a slightly different metric of when you can attack for the last hit, or how much health they’ll lose from getting hit by your own minions.

Compared to HoN is really is though. I tried to play HoN on a whim again this weekend…total disaster. Completely confusing. HoN has maybe the worst interface of any non indie garage project game I’ve ever played. (By bad interface in this case I mean cluttered and confusing and non-informative. I don’t mean buttons are broken or suchlike).

Competitive sites among other games are very, very frequently filled with videos of poor players. I don’t know how solomid is run, and at best it shows a lack of empathy on your part to assume players new to the game are intimately familiar with the workings of that site. You might as well have linked to youtube.com. I assumed that you were being condescending rather than helpful with a short link that apparently did not show what I was asking for. I guess both of our assumptions were wrong? Thanks anyway.

Haha, I agree. But when I said that chequers got mad at me.

So I tried Riven out. For the amount of work you have to put in to playing her, she really doesn’t do much. She has four tiny dashes but still has terrible mobility, and she has no utility at all. Her active on her ult is also the worst ability ever, not because of crappy damage but because it has a terrible casting delay animation that I frequently cancelled by accident, and when I didn’t it still gave people time to just outrun it. Her damage is also totally dwarfed by people like Vayne, but her shield feels terrible and she is barely any sturdier than a ranged carry.

Did I? I used to think the HoN interfae was powerful but unintuitive. Now I think it’s powerful but unintuitive, and I don’t really need that much power in a video game UI. LoL’s simplicity is not something I worry about now.

I am very much enjoying unranked draft mode. My games in it have been highly uneven in terms of skill on both sides (does it even use non-ranked mode hidden ELO? I had a mid yi with heal/clarity.) and champ select takes SO FSCKING LONG, but I love the fact it makes teams talk and plan more.
