Ha. I just dodged (a rare occurrence for me) a game where in the pre-game chat, our Jax was complaining the game before that he kept setting up ambushes alone off by himself, and his teammates wouldn’t all come over and support him to make the ambush work.

I think one of the problems with people at this type of game is that the average person wants to be the hero. They want to feel like they’re driving the action, coming up with the cunning ambush, driving the lane when no one else will. It’s essentially an egocentric approach that not only does not work in a team game like this, it is affirmatively harmful to the end result.

Same thing with regard to killsteals. We were down seven kills and I fired a Piltover Peacemaker into a team fight. One of our “team” members had the audacity to complain about it being a killsteal. Yeah, because when you’re down seven kills, and the opposing team has been escaping you with low health the entire game, best not to secure the kill if it might somehow prevent the player who did some damage first from getting the kill.

I’m getting better (and less aggravated) the more I play, just recognizing that most of these people are essentially chimps.

Skarner kicks some ass in Dom with strange AS/AP build. It builds quickly which I think is a key to the mode. ramping up fast wins games.

It seems that after level 10, the douchebaggery starts coming out in force at increasing levels every one thereafter.

Before level 10 I hardly heard a comment. In the low teens, there’d be a few assholes. Now, at 20, I just got ripped into for having the most deaths on my team (as Brand), despite the fact that we won and I absolutely dominated the assist chart. One friendly and two enemy players were constantly harassing me. I died mostly because I took it upon myself to initiate, since our Nunu was waaaay too passive.

If I’m feeding I immediately /ignore ally to keep up my morale and try to salvage the psychological game but let’s be realistic, I think anyone would be miffed if the squishy ap carry kept dying first in teamfights and tried to justify it by arguing that he was “dominating the assist chart”.

I had a Dominion game where were completely face stomping the enemy. Our Gangplank gets into chat

So, I like to play the bottom lane. For whatever reason, I feel I can see more. Whenever I play top, or if my team is the upper right team, I hate it. I feel like I can’t see my opponents until it’s too late. I don’t care if this is purely psychological or not.

SO I start a game. Me, Jax,…the rat guy…Brand, and Garen. Brand and Garen are buddies and want to take bottom together. I warn them I’m not used to playing top but I’m willing to try. Me and Jax take top. Suddenly my computer starts trying to update something, which makes the Lol client jerky for a few seconds. I divert my attention to sort that out, and, in that time, Jax gets killed by Talon and Xin Zhao.

He starts cursing me out for being a noob, says I never attack. I yell back at him about getting abusive over one mistake.

A few minutes later, for no reason I can discern he decides to attack both of them at once. I follow him in as best I can. He dies, I kill both Talon and Xin Zhao. Apparently this is the last straw, and he quits. This is in the first five minutes of the game. So now I’m in a lane I’m not really used to, trying to hold things down solo with Trist vs Xin Zhao and Talon. Well, maybe someone can do that, but I can’t. I slowly get pushed back, die a few times, and eventually lose the first turret. Brand comes over to help a couple times, but in general I’m on my own. Then, Xin crosses over some point and just becomes a completely steroidal bastard. I can more or less hold off Talon, and even kill him once, but unless I’m hugging the tower Xin Zhao destroys me.

Anyway, long story short, we lose. It was irritating.

Because if I play with the unlocked camera I will absolutely and inevitably wind up looking at a random bush or a golem’s ass or something at the worst possible time, or deliver a movement order to the UI, thus activating “recall” instead of moving or something.

It sucks, but that’s the nature of these damn games. Playing locked is much worse than unlocked even with the misclicks once you get used to it. Really.

I just wish they would’ve made it direct control, it would feel so much smoother.

You can always keep the space bar pressed if you want to focus on your champion.
