Singed makes no sense to me. Most Champions in LOL, whether I like them or not, clearly have some kind of theme or schtick that unifies and rationalizes them relative to other Champions. Singed?

So…first of all, I was shocked when I realized he wasn’t a ranged character. I fully expected him to be tossing molotov cocktails or whatever his bottles of crap are. Or squirting people with a squirt gun, or something. When he just ran up and punched someone I was like…er…okay?

Then he’s got some chemical attack stuff I guess, fine, whatever, but he’s got no dash, no teleport, no collision immunity mode, which is what I kept wanting when using his poison trail. Then he’s got that little grabby flippy thing, but it doesn’t stun or slow I don’t think, and he can’t really like emit a cloud all around him, so then he has to run away and hope someone chases…

I dunno. He just felt very passive in way that was frustrating, especially in big team fights. I pulled a few guys into allied towers, that was cute, but the chemical trail stuff never amounted to much, and I still can’t believe he’s got no ranged attack, or that his slow patch does no damage…

Enh, I didn’t like him, is what I’m saying.

So:

Katarina, no, didn’t like her.

Singed, no, didn’t like him.

Yorick, no, cute mechanic but didn’t seem all that great.

Skarner, enh, maybe, he didn’t excite me per se but I don’t get the hate.

Ezreal, enh, maybe. I think with a better build he’d have been scarier.

Sivir, yes.

Leona: Big Yes. Love her.

Sona: Big Yes. Love her too. Brinng! Blling! Brrring!

And I haven’t done Ryze or Anivia yet.

Again, I assume that all these guys can be effective or even awesome in the right hands, this is just my personal feelings while or after playing them.

I think the best Singed advice I ever read was from Dyrus:

“Does what I’m about to do make sense for any other champion? If yes, don’t do it. If no, then do it. Trolololol”

For some reason this just makes me think of a game we played where Therlun suicided into the enemy team and threw the game while everyone else said not to go in and Pogo screamed “WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?” It was pretty hilarious trolling.

I am a trash Singed, but a good one is terrifying. He is hard to play.

The first thing to understand about Singed is that until he has some levels and items he’s a squishy sack of nothing who won’t do much unless the enemy gets badly out of position (in which case he can fling them to their dooms).

Eventually, he will become an unkillable death machine who is flinging squishies to his team whenever possible, slowing runners and running through the team poisoning everyone. Occasionally some dumb bastard will chase him. They will never catch him, but they will take lots of damage trying.

You will want a Rod of Ages. I’m not sure if this is still true, but you used to want two. Tank up. You don’t really want to be the one to run facefirst into a team fight, but you will spend most of your time in the thick of them lategame, so you want to be survivable.

This is something you have to have voice chat in and play religiously to keep up with new heroes/changes/items, right? And probably on a steady team?
