And yes, I can’t be sure the Cait was super good, but she wasn’t awful. I kept back, dodged her Q’s and dropped the pool when she stood too close to her caster minions. After her skill shot I would also move to threaten a Q and force her to back off.

I can see against a very good Cait it would be tough with skill shots landing well, but even then, I reckon I am not too bad at dodging them these days. Might only get hit with three or four total in the laning phase and Cait can push a lane hard if she isn’t careful, which works out in one’s favor, of course.

So of course the game ends with me 8-2-12. We won, natch. I ascribe this to late night random silliness and listening to “Space Jam” before queing up. But ridiculous happenings like this makes me think stuff like “omg maybe you have discovered a SEKRET BUILD FOR OP SIVIR” when in fact it was all due to the enemy team pretending I did not exist in every single team fight. Is there a way to map standard spells to SHIFT + Key? I’d like to try smart cast as the default with standard on SHIFT backup, but the interface doesn’t seem to like mapping shift (lol wut, Riot?)

Also, thoughts on Rod of Ages on Morgana. I’ve always taken it, but every so often I read comments on bypassing it (sometimes going Catalyst, sometimes more Doran’s Rings) and heading straight to boots and deathcap. Thoughts?

Traditionally Morgana is built with items that give her both AP and survivability. Rod of Ages, Zhonya’s, that kind of thing. Deathcap is usually more of a luxury.

I personally never go without rod of ages with morgana.

Personally I sometimes get double zhonyas before a death cap, depends how much im being focused. If I’m already fed then I’ll go for a deathcap.

If you want proof that the brightest and best minds of LoL often talk much more confidently about which champions are “great” and which are “terrible,” just realize that the champions that are always selected and hot are often flavors of the week/month. Yes, sometimes that is caused by patch balancing changing things up, but just as often, it seems that people suddenly discover that the formerly mediocre champion that would elicit “lol noob” on picking is suddenly everyone’s favorite pick.

She had been buffed quite a bit over several patches (before this she had been nerfed to oblivion, last year morg was in the same spot she is now), a combination of several Quality of Life changes and culminating in removing a full second from her ult channel time.

Yeah. It is. I’m not talking about from last year. I’m talking about a change literally seen in the last few weeks/month. I don’t think Morgana has been buffed several times in that time frame.

But feel free to angry out on the concept that people get things wrong, and deride champs as trash only to later discover they are actually good. (Of course, the definition of “trash” is a wholly separate issue. There is a subset of people for whom anything other than their made-up top pick for a category is “trash,” while others just speak in terms of something being suboptimal.)

A new gimmick is born: Lee Sin dominion games where the only things I say in allchat are quotes from Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman.

Many of them are remarkably appropriate. “What’s the matter? Aren’t you going to draw?” after kills. “I’ll just watch for now.” after dying. “No one has a worse reputation around here than you guys.” for general taunting. Lots of other options too.

Nothing more satisfying than Kicking someone off a point they control into the loving arms of Poppy’s wombo combo.
