I think I can beat malz in bot lane as tanky soraka, consider all of your spell will do less than 50% and in return I just spam nuke you to death with my Q. it’s pretty funny beating Xin in a melee fight, he is like “omg, we both half health, I can totally win this”, then realized when he drop to less than 100, no, he can’t win against someone with thornmail and 2xself healing.
I imagine if you perfectly counter pick me, sure, you can rock me. That happens so much in the blind pick real world of course.
I only play draft if it’s ranked

I play blind pick sometimes, but you don’t get to play blind pick and then complain about your inability to counterpick.

the game overall feels much more balanced when playing drafted.
I’ve found that 95% in normal drafts people just pick whatever they would have wanted to play in blind pick anyway. I always feel like I’m the only one that makes any concession for team comp. Then again ranked draft isn’t always different from that. At least not at my ELO (~1400)
really? I’m about 1150 and most people pick for team comp. At 1000 nobody bothered and above 1200 it seems almost everyone does. Normal draft is definitely iffier though.
I’ve rediscovered morgana recently. She plays like amumu with some range. Since he’s my best character, it hasn’t been hard to pick her back up. She also seems really good for dominion. Slow, but black shield is so useful.

I’ve been floating in the high 700s low 800s for far too long now. Even there, many people attempt to pick for some semblance of team balance.
Games are mostly won or lost based on the “who got stuck with the complete tard” lottery pick, followed closely by the “who got the AFK” lottery pick.
(Though AFK hasn’t been as bad in ranked as it was in unranked.)
Tried Soraka Tank (a la Idrisz) in Dominions. We lost, but was second on team. Twitch for some reason owned me, but was able to laugh off the others unless 2:1. Q and thornmail is a nasty combination…
I did the same and it was quite fun. Building damn near anyone tanky seems to work better in Dom though. It wins 1v1’s easily, and unless you are out of position or would die either way, those are usually where it could go either way.
Well, I just did the exact same build as idrisz on dominion and it was probably the most fun game ever I had with soraka. Finished 4/0/12 with 7 caps, game lasted for 12 minutes or so.
Zilean is very fun in Dom for me. first time I ever got a Godlike in Dom.

Sigh. So, playing in a 5v5 Summoners Rift. One of our players goes “AFK, BRB”
We then proceed to start losing, slowly but surely. Guy comes back 15 minutes later. “WTF happened?”
3 of the 4 remaining team members, simultaneously in chat “One of our players went AFK for 15 minutes!”
It can be rough to keep everything straight when you have 3-4 activated items

I very rarely have more than one or two. I usually move my lone activated item – Quicksilver Sash, Zhonya’s, Randuin’s, e.g. – to the same key no matter what character or item I’m using so that that will always be what I mash. I use 4 because it’s in easy reach of my index finger.
Man, Catalyst as first item on Jarvan absolutely changes his game (for me at least). Being able to reliably poke back as well as pick up the hard-to-reach last hits makes such a huge difference. I am going to have to look at catalyst on more characters.
I’ve started taking it on a very large % of the champs I play. If they use mana, they start with a cat now. Then it’s either RoA or Odyn’s Veil depending on if they need the AP.
Catalyst really is pretty huge for the first fight, and then keeps on giving.
Even on my favored AD dominion champs like Pantheon I have a hard time deciding between catalyst or punchier stuff like brutalizer. The heals (and HP) are so powerful.
