Akali is a counter-pick for Karma? Whut? Karma has three damage spells and all three ignore Akali’s cloud.

Not that you need a counter-pick for Karma as she is almost never played.

Yeah that seems silly, though I don’t doubt that an Akali could beat a Karma in a duel.

Morgana has half a chance if she can stunlock with her snare/ul, but not in a fight where both are at 100% health.

The new breed of tanky DPS shits on Akali. Tanky AP with AoE can also sometimes outlast her, at least midgame.

Uh, Karma is exactly the kind of squishy champ Akali is made to ruthlessly murder. Also, she only has two damage skills unless she has someone to tie the tether to and have them run in a circle to hit Akali with it. If she’s used her two charges less than thirty seconds ago she only has one damage spell.

And I am well aware Shyvana is the name of the next champion, I am wondering why mx is all mock-incredulous about it.

Thanks, McCuddles, that’s an interesting view on things!

But Nasus is a counter to Irelia? Wah? Irel can hang back and last hit quickly, if need be, and even better, once Nasus Q’s a creep you have free range to leap on him and bash him a lot. You can easily force him back to base before lvl 6. If he uses his other two powers he burns all the mana he needs for Q. And Q is his only big damage power until 6, at which point Irelia has even more sustain than before.

(But I might have been facing a bad Nasus).

Oh shit, it’s real!

Oh God, they even changed the login screen and music for this…

Not one of the pros here but there are a couple of things wrong with that picture:

  • Nasus should/can farm almost under his tower, last hitting like a boss with his Q
  • leaping on Nasus usually means you will get W-E-Q’ed and if the Nasus is playing right that means you are slowed and taking damage in his “side” of the lane, potentially spelling your own demise
  • bursting Nasus usually triggers his Ult and some hard hitting Q on your face; unless you can take the pain it’s usually not a profitable decision

So yeah, Nasus isn’t a powerhouse but played conservatively he can stand on his own against pretty much anything besides multiple dudes ganging up on him.

As others have pointed out, the list isn’t perfect. But you asked for something like this and it’s the most complete thing I could find barring doing one myself :)

I’ve yet to lose to a Nasus on my Irelia, finding the lane pretty easy, but then again I’ve heard of others having problems so it’s hard to tell. On paper, wither should make Nasus shit all over Irelia. The problem with that is that you can easily fight him at low levels when using wither means his mana gets dropped to zero fast, and then once you are ahead he’s fucked with proper creep management. Or at least, that’s been my experience.

So much for firing Shurelia improving the new champs.

Hahaha, I patched up the client just to see this. Was not disappointed.

My guess would be that the people who have trouble let him farm for a few minutes, when they should be earnestly trying to kill him by level two. Certainly my experience has been that if he’s allowed to farm he’s much scarier than Irelia is, but if she fights him early and often he merely amounts to an ambulatory sack of gold.

Hmm, the Shyvana mechanics make me think of Breath of Fire Dragon Quarter and the D-Dive Mechanic kind of.

Hurrah! I’m not insane with my analysis. If Nasus has mana for wither you just W, dash to a nearby low health creep, E Nasus and then pull back. Leveling E first and then just using the micro burst after every Q he uses on a creep will send him back pretty quick. And yeah, you do have to manage your creeps, crazy idea for most pubbies!

From the nasus side, that’s been my experience. Early levels aren’t fun for nasus, but you don’t need to build anything but resistance and regen (chain armor and a philo stone->shurelia.) After a while, hitting nasus doesn’t really hurt nasus, as he life steals it back in a hit or 2 of his Q. It becomes a game where you start slowly losing trades, until irelia can’t appreciably hurt nasus, and nasus can just truck her face.

At least, that’s been my experience, but it can take 15 minutes before nasus becomes truly dominant. An early philo to shurelia seems to solve most of his mana and health regen issues (plus CDR, to farm MOAR Q), and a sheen gives you a big boost to Q damage. If I can outlast an akali for 15 or so minutes in lane, even her burst becomes less annoying over time, and a Q will wreck her face bad if she jumps on you.

I bought that skin immediately. Fiddle throwing balloon animals is awesome

re: nasus. My worst nightmares are people who are aggressive from level 1. I took a regrowth pendant, all I want to do is Q minions and here you are attacking me! You can’t stop Nasus from soaking up XP in a 1v1 lane, but you can sure keep pushing the lane super hard so I have to use E to get last hits every other wave and have no mana to help kill you when the gank comes.

Garen, Irelia and Akali are the worst top laners I’ve faced as Nasus. If they play passive you ignore them, but if they’re slightly aggressive they’ll realise the damage output they can do and fuck you up.

Been playing a couple of games with nooby friends of mine in 4-man premades (which has resulted in us facing all-30s with 500 wins. LOL. Twice now, two games in a row, Renekton has ruined our day with his stuns and damage in team fights. I was surprised because he isn’t, perhaps, a top pick right now. Both Renekton’s pretty much built tanky with maybe one damage item, and not a super high end one. Interesting to see Renekton doing well again, especially when I’m used to Irelia who needs a TF before she can get anywhere.

I love Singed. Got my first quadrakill this game, and followed it up with a couple of triple kills. Once you hit a certain point you are just a hilariously unstoppable death machine.

At one point Jarvan ultid me while my poison cloud was active. A couple of other dudes were caught in the wall (allies and enemies). Wasn’t pretty.

He’s just a champ with obnoxious mechanics. I’m not sure what RioT was thinking when they made him, because everything in his kit facilitates him running in front of you while not dying. I still think his natural armor gets way too fucking high, and he still has one of those broken passives that is essentially free gold, as passive RioT felt the need to completely remove from Kayle and make useless on Vladimir.

His passive isn’t as big a deal as a gold multiplier though. Typically Offensive to Defensive conversions are what breaks things. Defense to Defense and Defense to Offense isn’t nearly as big a deal in terms of game mechanics.

Kayle was pretty interesting, in that she had an Offense to Offense conversion which hadn’t really been seen before. I know at least one of the Riot champion designers is sad that they didn’t put some effort into messing about with that more rather then simply removing it.

I’ve been seeing an uptick in Shaco and Fiddlesticks lately. Boxes are a huge pain to deal with in Dominion and Fiddle with a pair of hard CC is maddening in either map. I had to stop playing for a day or so because the number of team fights I’d show up and be CC locked until I died made me wonder why I was wasting my time.
