I noticed more NA teams picking it up on carries in tournaments lately. The logic seems to be it provides some of the same utility at Banshee’s only at a much lower cost.

It… does save you from being stunlocked, depending on the situation.
Removing debuffs is a pretty powerful thing, it just needs to be utilized in a proper way. If you’re caught by the entire enemy team, you might not benefit from it. But if you’re caught by an ability (like Morgana’s root or Sona’s ult) that will get you steamrolled in 2 seconds, you can use it and get the hell out.
So atmogs gangplank is pretty cool. But how do I build GP against a team where primary damage is magic? AtFoN? Then where does my damage come from? Is the solution “don’t build warmogs against magic team”?
Shyvana seems fun so far, with the potential for some holy shit damage output. In a nice change of pace she doesn’t feel like another champion’s upgrade/lesser version and does not have: a shield, any CC, a dash/teleport attack, or any form of healing. She is tanky deeps but at least she doesn’t have any built in sustain.
Her fury bar is always slowly counting up instead of down but also goes up by I think 2 every time she attacks (in dragon form you still get 2 fury per attack but burn off 6 per second). Her Q does physical damage and scales off AD, her E is a quick medium range fireball that scales off AP doing magic damage, and then her W is a funny combination of magic damage scaling off AD. Dragon form is so totally awesome you definately want to build attack speed so you can be in it as long as possible.
Between needing more attack speed and needing lifesteal, I am going to going out on a limb and say that Shyvana is the first champion where the “If you don’t get this you are bad” item is Stark’s Fervor.

Also, a lot of non-competitive teams are bad about not stacking CCs, so sometimes everyone will blow all their stuns on you at once and you can press a button, laugh and stroll away.

I forget which of you I was with, prolly maxle, but we duo queued a while back and ran into a AD Sona. Did surprisingly well, though that may have just been our opponents being bad. I was still surprised by her overall damage output.
I’m going to go with Rageblade for Shyvana as the ‘must have’ item.
Might pick her up, looks fun. I think her ult model looks stupid though. A big scary dragon… walking around on the ground like an ugly bug.
Yeah, on paper she sorta sounds like Nidalee.

It’s better than Banshee because it isn’t going to be go on cooldown when Maokai throws a sapling. If what you want is resistance to cc, anyway. Banshee gives good health and mana, too.
Man, that Exa Ignognaognava guy is right; WotA is incredible on Ken. At least one fight I only survived–and we only won–because of that delicious spell vamp.
I was pretty damn shocked that went as well as it did, as I certainly wasn’t rocking Brand in lane, and I was getting my tower pushed down (he can AoE lots of creeps from a distance, I have to run into them to hit a bunch of them at once. That’s not a good place to be when Brand is around). A couple lucky/failed ganks let me get a leg up on him shortly before my tower fell, and I slowly built from there. Had to be conservative, as even with decent tank stats and spell vamp I was easy to burst down. But man, when they got out of position? Dat ult.
I dunno about Rageblade being quite as useful on her as it is on Nidalee, she doesn’t pounce around the map and her skills have longish cooldowns. She also doesn’t rely on AP to do all her damage like Nidalee since two of her three attack skills scale on AD and her AP fireball reduces armor.
Or build a Wriggles and a Wits End and be in a much better place. She jungles insanely fast anyway.
Rageblade also sounds awful, for most of the reasons Lazy mentioned already.

Rageblade is huge on Nidalee because she can keep it fully stacked for zero cost. That’s pretty hard to duplicate.
She might jungle insanely fast but she has no CC and no gap closer. Why exactly would you put her in the jungle, McK?
Her Ultimate functions much the same as Malphite Ultimate, it’s a pretty huge gap closer.
I’ll know more tomorrow when I’ve had a chance to actually get my hands on her. But a fast clear time alone is reason enough to explore that option.
No it’s not, it’s like two-thirds the range of Malphite’s ult and pushes people back a tiny bit instead of stunning them. You can’t do a super secret from jungle attack and they’ll just turn and run away, and if you don’t manage to hit them with it from behind you’ll actually push them further away from your teammates.
I’ve watched her being played, I know how it works and have seen it in action. From a ganking perspective it’s functionally equivalent.
Really? I’d think there’s a giant difference between a long range knockup and stun and a medium range dash with no CC.
I’ll wait til I see someone do it well, but not convinced yet. Until 6 her only gank skill is the ms + aoe flame spinny circle thing.
Hm, but even Warwick doesn’t gank super easily before 6 unless the enemy are being too aggressive, in my experience.
McK thinks WW is a bad jungler.
