She’s a little overrated. Her strengths are a powerful laning phase starting at level 5, great anti-gank capabilities (something people don’t think about), and most particularly the midgame skirmishes that occur 2v2 or 3v3 either at a tower or at dragon, where her ult is most effective since it’s an offensive and defensive mechanism.

Her endgame is basically her being a snarebot, firing bindings from the sidelines to try to catch any squishy or off-tank champ. 3 seconds is a long fucking time in 5v5 poking situations.

She has no “easy” counters, but her counters are most notably jungle Nocturne and Ezreal. She generally has problems against mobile ranged AD carries (Tristana, Vayne, Graves, not really Ashe though since Ashe is too dependent on slowing people down) until she can grab a Frozen Heart and close gaps with them, using her snare and ultimate for damage and then kiting away from them or baiting into your allies.

Morg was recently heavily buffed, so everyone is playing her now. That or every other character was recently needed, and Morg was left alone. I forget which it was.

I do love the players who presume to think LoL character selection is like calling “shotgun,” where if you say it first, it means everyone has to give it to you.

My other favorite are the denials - the people below you who immediately say they aren’t tanking, and that you therefore have to.

Best moment of the match was when three of my team go suicide into four of them. Shockingly, my teammates actually kill one of our opponents before they’re wiped. I pick up storm shield and go kill the three remaining enemies, who are all at or above half health. Wouldn’t have worked, but graves managed to miss (!) with his AoE blind, and so that was that.

In this thread, mx posts one victory screen per day.

My only victory screen each day, sir :(

prove it ;)

You know, I love being at 1200ish Elo and losing 45 of it because of a 2nd to last pick that goes Rumble when I already have solo top covered, goes top after I’m already there, refuses to leave, then proceeds to go 0/6/0 and goes AFK along with our Malz mid who also feeds and then disconnects at the 12 minute mark. Yeah great, nice placing match this. I wouldn’t even care so much if it wasn’t one of the high value early ones, blah.

We really must play with Frank more often.

EDIT: First game as Juggalo Poppy, a nail-biter but a success:

Yeah, it sure looks like Frank had fun in that second match.

Also, damn, that Kass did work.

Nocturne isn’t really my thing in Dominion, but I did a lot of very useful (hahaha) feinting which resulted in my repeated death. I have a tendency to always play objectives in objective-based game modes. That usually results in pretty crappy Dominion games. I’m going to have to find a tanky champion that I like.

Try tanky Soraka. For sitting on objectives & pushing to the next one, she is good.

Morgana is not overrated. Easily the best character right now. 95% of AP carries mid will die if she ults, binds, pools, and ignites. The best part is, ult is like, 90 second cooldown, so if they don’t burn their larger CD flash, they die. So basically, you ult, run at them, they burn flash, and then in 90 seconds you get a free kill.

The only counter to Morgana that I have faced was a Casseopia whose jungler kept giving her blue. Cass outpushes Morgana early game. I imagine Mordekaiser wouldn’t be too bad either.

That comment was posted along with, and exclusive to, the first image, and was a joke about dragging in low-level and -Elo players since he’s new to the game.

That said, the second game was, I think, fun for everyone involved even if not everyone’s score was great. The other team played well and it was a tense game to the end. We were losing for most of it.

She’s not the best ;)

But she is an extremely solid character who becomes even more powerful in solo queue thanks to her kit. The ability to afk farm gives even bad players decent CS while also allowing you to gank other lanes (because of how easy it is to push). In addition AoE ultimates are extremely strong in solo queue when players can’t have the cohesion needed to avoid them and Black Shield is just awesome, always has been. Also while Morgana falls off later that doesn’t really come into play in snowball-eque solo queue games, which is also why Sion is becoming popular again.

Talon counters Morgana quite easily in lane aswell, as will most any other AD characters (Ez and Cait come to mind). I’ve heard Kennen does fine aswell.

Why don’t you go solo queue again meanie.

I’m a big Morgana fan, I love Black Shield because it’s just a great anti-gank tool, it allows you to screw up your positioning and not have to die because of it. And yes, AD carry’s counter her hard.

Kennen does okay because he’s a nimble bugger so landing a bind is hard, especially if he can weave in and out of minions.

It’s pretty obvious at this point that Black Shield is way, way too good.

Short CD spell immunity that can be cast on anyone? It’s probably the most overpowered skill in the game.

Except that’s not how it works. It blocks a certain amount of damage, and you can break the shield (see Sion, Malphite, Udyr, etc for people with shields you can break.) If you hit her with some magic damage first, you can then CC her no problem. At maximum level, black shield blocks 355 magic damage + 0.7 AP, and has a fixed CDR of 15 seconds. You tend to level the shield last (or you have no CC to apply any DPS, since puddle doesn’t hurt anyone who isn’t bound), so it’s typically blocking a few hundred magic damage at best. Sure, if you throw 0 damage CC at morgana first, she can shield it and the shield stays. But if you do damage, (something any AP mid can apply with part of their burst like Annie’s Q) it will break the shield.

If you want to gank her, bait the shield with an ability like annie’s Q, then 4 seconds later when annie’s Q comes back up then you gank. Or, if she doesn’t shield, just Q her again and again until she’s dead. I jungled in a recent game, and the mid (brand?) had no problem baiting out morgana’s shield so I could jump out and slap her with a stun.

I’ve played a few hundred morgana games, and her shield has been nerfed since I was playing her a lot. It’s really best against stuff like fiddle’s fear, which applies 0 damage, (or taric stun, where damage is minimal) but it’s still something you can burst through on anyone - it just costs you a little more damage. So it’s useful, but it’s not like you’re immune to CC.

Not to mention that kennen can lightning rush out of your ult range before the stun goes off. As can caitlyn with net, nidalee with pounce, kassadin with riftwalk, etc.
