That is a terrible build, but he did out farm the entire rest of the team.

Jungle XP was adjusted that a full run without the extra xp masteries you will still hit level 4.

. . . accomplishing precisely nothing in the process.

I LOVE FIZZ.

Death came from me diving onto their heal platform. Got GP out of it, too.

He took solo top over morde. Then got mini golems for himself. Along with the fact that their Shyvana stole my wraiths my opening jungle was Wolves -> Red lizard minions -> Back to base.

I don’t see how you can even pretend CS is relevant given what he used it for, and who he prevented acquiring it in the process. CS is a good metric to use if you are evaluating player skill because the two are well correlated and CS is easy to measure. However CS is not the goal of the game. You cannot equate having most CS with being the best player within the game. He could have had 3x the farm of anyone in the game and would have still been ineffectual in the best of scenarios.

I didn’t say he played good or was the best player, but he did farm the best!

Just in case I wasn’t clear to begin with, this observation is obvious and entirely without merit.

It means he’s at least a technically skilled player, if not able to grasp the concept of the meta-game.

No, it means he’s potentially technically skilled at a particular aspect of the game and quite bad at the others. It says nothing about his ability to perform with regard to enemy players and actively negative things about his ability to perform with regard to allied players.

Yeh. If he wanted to be useful, AP Shen would have been much, much better than grabbing an asston of AD without any attack speed whatsoever.

This. Imagine how much farm in one game you could get, if your only concern was farm. Never participate in a team fight. Never be with the group. Only concern yourself with Vorpal Blading every creep. Every. Single. One. Jungle camp just spawned? Go get it. Bottom lane has a creep wave, and you left top for wolves? Go get it.

Play GP. Your ult is up? Always get enemy wraiths. Or push the lane you aren’t in. No risk to you right? Plus you get more farm so you can… Buy multiple Abyssal Scepters.

Farm means nothing in this case. It is like equating the rise in CO2 emissions to the worldwide decline of pirates. They can be correlated but it means nothing.

Yes, this. There’s quite a bit that goes into being good at the game. Farming is one such aspect, and is more relevant on some characters than others. It’s hard to say what the CS was while laning proper was still ongoing (and it’s funny how often ragers ignore this), but Shen appeared to face WW (a guess) and didn’t exactly shut WW down. So the character who least benefited from the farm on Wayne’s team got the most. And still allowed a farm-dependant enemy champ to get farm. That’s a loss. Not as much of a loss as when Wayne entered the queue, granted. . .

Or crit, or armor pen. Also note that the biggest threats on the enemy team (Urgot, WW, Shyvana) had in excess of 100 armor (possibly excepting Syvana; but she had frozen mallet and warmogs, and thus had a zillion health). Karthus is certainly a threat and is squishier. So I guess you’re turning yourself into the perfect karthus killer? Super. Urgot, WW, and Shyvana just destroyed the rest of your team.

Just ask idrisz

Lazy’s teemo build is epic.

I think we all agree that Shen was useless, but there’s some evidence that if he had a decent build and paid more attention to helping his allies, he could have been useful. As opposed to someone with a terrible build and no farm, who would be mostly useless no matter how smart they played from there on. I guess I’m saying he seems competent compared to some of the people I’ve been playing with lately.

There is also some evidence that if the Shen could shoot guided photon torpedoes - like the one Spock and Bones create in Star Trek VI - from his eyes he could have been useful.

Alas.

Oh teh noez!

In other news, the nerf to Nocturne is apparently pretty bad. Listening to CLG discussing picks/bans in a scrim right now and they all pooped on Nocturne.

So, thoughts on the new Masteries? I tried running Ignite/Surge on Annie, but not having Flash was just not working out, and I was thinking that I’d rather run Ignite than Surge (for now, at least).

But I can totally see going Surge on, say, Vayne for the massive +AS, or Kog’Maw, or Twisted Fate?

What do you guys think about the new sets of bans? Previously I was banning Sion/Shaco (not because either of them is super OP), and I’m thinking of adding Lee Sin to the list, and not banning Nocturne, because of the nerf to the fear.

Though if I’m playing Annie mid, I’d probably ban Kassadin. Fucker. >.<

Is Akali really still OP on Summoner’s Rift after her nerf? Everyone kept banning her today.
