Buy an XP boost.

Such is the sorry state of the game for people who came from other MOBA’s :(

On the other hand it ain’t going to change, people like you are why Riot sell XP boosts.

The solution is to either join some premade games where you’re the only person under 30 and get picked on by the enemy team, or to have some other people smurf with you, which will fill the game with smurfs and/or mismatches against level 30s!

Can I buy XP boosts with IP?

Awww your so naĆve :)

Lazy basically already said your only choice. Hope in premade games with people who are already 30, the quality of opponents and team mates will be far superior however it will be hard keeping up at the beginning.

You can replace Therlun.

What most people suggest, if you are feeling the talent is inferior at your present level, is to work on getting good enough to be able to carry truly shitty teams all by yourself. I.e., being the one who is capable of going 25/3/8 even when two-three other teammates have sub-.500 K/Ds.

I don’t have to worry about that, given that I still have a hard enough time just getting 75% of waves on last hit. Though I hope that at least part of that is how difficult it is to last hit in random matchups, given that most of your lanemates just autoattack everything. Right now, I’m just happy that I’m usually not at a sub-.500 K/D, and fairly generally am several kills to the positive (or when playing tankier/support, many assists).

Carrying pubs isn’t going to prepare me for high-level games, as I’m finding out. :)

I’m sure I don’t know what you mean.

As it turns out, I’m able to roflstomp level 11 games, but I have a lot to learn about playing with level 30s.

On the other hand, peacedog and mxlm can carry me!

Though I did have one brilliant moment that helped us win a huge teamfight, so yeah.

Ok…so another bonehead question. What slots do I put Quintessences in? I have one but it doesn’t seem to go in any of the slots.

Thanks agian for tolerating questions from the sort of crappy player AaronSofer is lamenting having to play with. ;)

What level are you merry? You only get quint slots at levels 10, 20 and 30.

Away from the game for two weeks and I go 1/7/0 in a 20min surrender, naturally.

What are these ā€œskillful shotā€ things again? :*(

Gotcha…I’m only level 5 so that explains it. Thanks.

I wish I could learn ā€œto carryā€.

I suspect if you can carry you won’t get stuck with fools for long. Or at least, not with lowby fools =)

Carrying is learning how to killsteal your team mates.

You left off the ā€œWhile playing the most overpowered champion you can,ā€ part!

4/4/3…nothing to fancy, but my first non-negative K/D ration. :)

The one common denominator in these games is you. Stop blaming the other players for messing up your game, start concentrating on how you can get them them to play the best game they can.

How to do this:

  1. Show you are a good player at the start of the game, ie. by getting first kill or something. Players are much more likely to follow your lead if they believe you are a good player.
  2. Lead the team, organise them, arrange ganks/pushes help them avoid ganks defend against pushes. You should be spending a great deal of the game typing orders/suggestions to other player and watching the map.
  3. Work out who are the best players in your team/the other team and help/hinder them as appropriate.

Also, try playing 3v3 maps, the lesser number of players makes it easier to communicate and coordinate.

I’m not going to learn to harass good players by harassing bad players.

You do it the same for both.

I’m not going to learn to anticipate ganks and build map awareness playing against players who don’t gank,

Great! if the other team isn’t ganking and your team is, you will have an advantage.

and I’m not going to learn how to gank properly playing with players who sit back at max range from the creep line autoattacking.

Yeah, so encourage them to gank.

Nor am I going to learn how to capitalize on an enemy’s mistakes when I’m in a 2v2 lane and my lanemate is autoattacking creeps.

As above.

That’s only half of it. As I learned - brutally, in the two games I played with level 30 Qt3ers - it’s an entirely different game when you’re playing against competent players, and the practices and skills needed to do well against them can only be learned by playing against them, because incompetent players don’t present the same challenges in the slightest.

  1. Lead the team, organise them, arrange ganks/pushes help them avoid ganks defend against pushes. You should be spending a great deal of the game typing orders/suggestions to other player and watching the map.
  2. Work out who are the best players in your team/the other team and help/hinder them as appropriate.

I do a lot of this when I solo queue, but again, this doesn’t teach me how to play against competent players. :)
