Even if it did people would still play as they see fit, even in detriment of the rest of the team, simply because most random queuers don’t really care about the teamplay part of the game, they want to shine and have a high K/d ratio and that’s it, when things go south they can just lie back and scream in /all “my team sucks” or “we had feeders” or my favourite “go play tetris you noobz”.
@Bluemax: Morg should really be classed (and modelled) as a disabler but Riot is far too afraid to make any character not do damage that this will never happen. But yes, Morg playing a support role is far superior to Morg playing a Caster role.

They should play Amumu more. You get to be awesome in team fights and pad your k:d ratio at the same time.

Yeah sadly. I wonder how much different this game would be without K/D/A ratios?
True, outside of Soraka I can’t think of a single LoL character that can’t be turned into a carry with a few items. I mean carry Soraka is kind of possible, but she is pretty much the only character whose focus isn’t on damage, I guess Taric and Janna are close.
It just kind of shows how their idea for support champs went away/changed after the first four (Taric/Janna/Morg/Soraka). Maybe it was a response to the super powered Heal comp teams?
Although now I can’t remember if Kayle was earlier than those above four. Then again when I started people considered Kayle a tank. Then somewhere she became a hard carry and then more of a support.
Thinking back to my early time with LoL, I liked playing a tank at first but I always felt useless, partly due to not know how to play/build properly and partly because no matter how good I played I didn’t ever lead in kills and so even when I was sure I was the smartest/best player on my team there was no tangible way of showing it at the end. So I started playing Ryze and Jax and melting faces and went from a massively negative W/L ratio to a positive one. I understand why people play carries, because if you do well enough early game you think you’ll be able to snow ball your way to victory, which at lower summoner levels works, but it leads to people being less team oriented the more they play.
It’s tricky, the team that wins is usually the one with better team play, but how do you get people to play as a team?

Can anyone from the US confirm how much IP Irelia is?
Thanks in advance.
It’s a big patch, they sneaked some more artwork in again…
Damn Riot, why don’t you just enable all this stuff your making me dl already.

I’m even more confused then.
Every single high elo player I’ve seen stacks sunfires with a couple mpen items (why I tried it in the first place). It works remarkably well.
Maybe they do? I don’t watch pro streams, just play my own game.
I mean I can see why getting MPen in the poking game the US run would seem like a good idea but your throwing money down a whole once Teamfights begin.
Also what MPen items? I mean Sorc boots I’m ok with, Haunting Guise I could kinda get behind maybe but anything else? They are all AP items.
I had a literally perfect game a few weeks ago - 28/0 for our entire team, they never killed us or took a tower.
But to be fair, she does dish it out a bit. Not like Annie, but dark binding / puddle / ult can still put a serious hurting on people. This is why I enjoy deathfire grasp…mck noticed that my nuke was a…little bigger than it normally is. Thus my 11/2/25 game as Morgana.

They put the Halloween map back in, which is apparently huuuuuge.
But surely it was already in and didn’t need being put back in?

It depends. You see players like Wickd you go crazy with it by grabbing mpen reds, blues, quints, then scepter/sorc boots. I tend to just go with boots, magic pen reds, and scepter or guise late game after my second sunfire. My builds vary a bit depending on how my farm is doing and how squishy I’m feeling.

Roku played a carry Janna yesterday and did very well with it. He was solo against galio and master yi, so he levelled up shield and poked at them both relentlessly, with shield protecting him. His first item was guinsoo’s rageblade and he bought berserker’s greaves for boots. Janna’s skills seemed to be pretty good for a physical dps - the combination of Janna’s speed boost and whirlwinds made it tough for people to get away from him. Was fun to watch Janna chasing Yi, Galio, and Gragas.

I would have thought the skimpy bikini was a give-away, but Janna is a female character. Edit: Okay, I see what you meant…
Someone seemed shocked that I would suggest Sona could solo lane the other day, but I think most of the support characters can do well enough at it. I’ve tried auto-attack Janna before but have had zero success with it. I wanted to try maining Janna again for a while, but I’ve been on an Akali kick recently.
All my games playing as Janna are either awesome or utter fails, I guess it’s just because I find her really dependant on her team.
Hark has played an AD/AS Janna a few times I think.
I’ve yet to play since the patch, and Sona did take some hits but I think I can still be effective with her quite easily. One thing I may start trying to do though is taking an early Majais, since I do tend to have low death, high assist counts.
