We played 2 all Qt3 5v5 games this weekend. It was a lot of fun even though we didn’t have balanced teams either time.

As Bluemax said, a custom game with draft. Well, strictly speaking we:

  1. selected two team captains (McKnight, Bluemax)

  2. Drafted players (1-2-1-1-1-1-1-1 format; Bluemax chose first).

  3. Decided on Bans (1-2-1, with McKnight going first)

  4. Picked characters (1-2-2-2-1, Bluemax went first? I can’t recall).

That was the first game (I left after that). Thorn and I used our time on bottom to be productive. We actually built - by hand - a train station.

I’m not sure how many of you Qt3 people I have on my list, but my name on the US server is just Forge. I do tend to join the QT3 chat channel in game but it is generally empty it seems.

We don’t use the Qt3 ingame chat channel. We join the Qt3 League of Legends steam group, message each other there, and then get in mumble.

Myself, mxlm (Miss Fortune), Ripplez (Yi), Esspresso Jim (Ashe), and um I forget the last guys name sorry (Nunu).

Other team: Bunny (WW), Thorn (Anivia), Therlun (Trist), McKnight(Malphite) and peacedog (forgot this one as well).

Second match teams were:

Me (Kog), mxlm (Amumu), Bunny(Poppy), Ripplez(Kennen) and peacedog (Taric)

McKnight(Sona), new guy(Trist), Thorn(Veigar), Therlun(Singed), EsspressoJim(Ashe)

I think this is right, maybe I got one or two of these wrong.

First game should have been close, Second was way out matched - hence why I don’t play many of these types of games - our automatching brains are worse than Riots.

yeah team 2 probably got owned in 2nd game by team 1.

Singed is the worst hero. Team 2 lost the second game, but mostly because Veigar didn’t have any AP enemies and Carry Sona didn’t carry. Also, Kennen-Ripplez overcame his lag and denied like hell in the bottom lane.

McKnight’s team won match 1. We didn’t protect our jungler well and lost mid and bottom.

Second match, I dominated Thorn mid with Kog and was able to roam around and gank. Plus our bottom lane had strong deny as well.

I don’t think it was a skill level disparity so much as champion selections.

To be fair, the second game wasn’t helped by the fact I put on my worst performance in the game for months… Although to be fair I think you guys still would have won. You definitely outpicked us. Still angry at myself though.

Just played my first two games as Soraka, and won both. I went total support with an Aegis and Soul Shroud, it was cool to see how much stronger it made my team. When I wasn’t at the fight they would be losing and being pushed back, but once I showed up suddenly everyone was invincible.

Shit, yeah I should’ve mentioned that you were carrying quite nicely with Amumu. I think you ended up with the high kill count.

Personally I feel the skill levels are close enough that these 5v5s really just come down to champ picks. Us getting Poppy and Amumu for Mx and Bunny gave us a sizable advantage.

And for the record, I asked everyone else if they wanted to play the carry before I took Kog. I kind of wanted to jungle WW but no one else felt comfortable taking mid that time and we also didn’t have any champs we felt were good for 1v2.

I had a few games last night with basically the best Rammus I’ve played with. One in particular, I was mid against Cho’Gath who was one of those guys you can just tell from how he plays he thought he was the most amazing player ever. So we ganked him about 6 or 7 times in just the laning phase, Rammus would promptly arrive in nearby brush moments after Cho returned to the lane, and he’d powerball slow -> taunt -> my arrow while I DPS’d him down. By the time we got to mid-game he was raging so hard in chat, calling everyone bad, criticizing everyone’s items, it was just completely freakin’ hilarious.

Meanwhile I was immune to Udyr’s feeble attempts to gank me because of wards. I love people who don’t use them.
