Sort of. Some powerful champions encourage sloppy play. Using Mordekaiser is a whole different ballgame in a lvl15 game than it is in a lvl30 game. In a lvl15 game, you don’t have to give a shit about your position in a lane, although putting enemy creeps between you and the laner you are harassing is always an advantage assuming the laner isn’t compensating by keeping himself out of harm’s way.

I’ve always assumed Ashe to be a nooby ranged carry that needed no technique, until I played her more often against better laners.

I, too, like winning. Anyone who plays L4D2 with me knows that much. It’s the competitive spirit, the notion that flawless teamplay wins a game and not just who gets the charger on the TP2 alleyway.

Mana Crystal and health potions to start, rush a catalyst, build sunfires and sorc shoes, after you get about 2 sf capes convert catalyst into banshees veil.

Win.

At least this is the build I’ve seen advertised as making you uber powerful.

As far as skilling, start with Q, alternate between Q and E.

So where the fuck does this come from? really Kub, no fucking need to say shit about me. All I said was play whats fun. WTF DUDE?

Pssst… people are watching.

Thanks, Blue - will try that - especially as that’s a laning build I could work off.

I’m sorry I banned Malphite, McKnight.

I’m also sorry I laughed so hard when you freaked out about it.

Words cannot explain Bunny…

Played some fun games as Rammus, I think I’m getting the hang of him. The beginning of the game is usually pretty rough and I have to drink a lot of potions, but if I can get some last hits and maybe a couple kills and buy and aegis, he really starts rolling. As long as I can stay near teammates, we just start raking in the kills. Playing him is a pretty good counter to the entire rest of my team being dps. Sometimes all 9 other players are DPS, and just having even a mediocre tank makes a big difference.

Rammus is awesome and one of my favorites. I have some weird luck with him and Malphite where if it’s just a normal game I end up Rammus against an almost all Magic team, sigh. The times you end up against a pure AD team though are awesome.

I’m starting to get a handle on Trundle now and kind of like him. I still need to figure out my build though.

Had a good game as Malphite tonight and I think I’m getting to grips with him. For starters, I went Doran’s Shield first and then I grabbed boots and a topical armor/MR item. I found this to be a much easier way to get him moving than the blue crystal right at the start. Just the crystal gets me dead or harassed way too easily (or no last hits ever), the shield keeps me rolling and making more money, getting me to resists and then mana in due course.

I’ve been playing as Kassadin recently and he’s a lot of fun. He takes forever to build up all the items for him to be useful in killing enemy champions though…

Try starting with a Doran’s ring. I’d never advise starting with a sapphire Crystal… There are so many better items to buy at the beginning of the game.

If you’re building right into catalyst ASAP and are going to blow a spell on getting back to your lane quickly, then sapphire crystal is fine. Let’s you get two potions anyways. I did that pretty frequently with AP Cho.

Yah I’m always confused as to why I see so many high elo players start with dorans stuff, which doesn’t build into anything. Seems like such a waste of 400 gold. I would think being slightly more cautious in early laning, and having an item that built into something would give you a big advantage.

It’s only 200 as you can sell it for half.

Because they give you a wide range of stat boosts for very little gold, and with the more active early game of high Elo play every little bit helps.

Better to have the stat boost early and try for an early lead (especially if it could mean a first-blood) then hold back and save up, possibly crippling yourself in the process.

It’s not even the first blood - it’s out CSing the opponent, and maybe even denying them XP.

This is why people who can’t last hit piss me off a bit - if there are no kills in the lane, but you have 2x the creep kills of your opponent, then you WON that lane, as you’ve got better equipment for the inevitable team fight. Not being able to last hit means you are giving up an advantage. For example, if you are in a lane by yourself, you should be able to last hit EVERY SINGLE MINION in the wave. Each one you miss is a mistake you made.

Doran items can make the last hitting process easier, and the added hit points make you safer. Put it this way: if we trade equal amounts of damage, then you died, because I had the extra 80HP to spare.

(PS: this post not directed at bunny.)

Only time I don’t get a Doran’s something is if I jungle or I’m playing Vlad.

Consider the stream I watched earlier today - ashe built 4 doran’s blades before building IE. By spending that 1700 gold, he picked up 400 health, 32 attack damage, and 12% lifesteal - that’s roughly the equivalent of three long swords, a giant’s belt, and a vampiric sceptre, which would run 2800 gold. Makes a big difference during laning and those first team fights.
