So…just played on the worst team ever. We had a feeding TF (19 deaths), an Anivia whose walls routinely helped the other team and not us, an Alistar who would merrily headbutt people away that I was attacking and a Blitz who missed 99% of his grabs. I can only hope that my Trundle annoyed them with a badly placed pillar on occasion.
The upside today was that earlier I was in a 4v5 and it was an absolute slaughter of the 5 man team. I can only imagine what it would have been like if we didn’t have a leaver.

That’s a very interesting tactic. I’ll have to try that next time. And with selling, didn’t he essentially only spend 870 gold? (actual price of 4xDoran’s Blade is 1740g).
I wonder if someone has already done a complete list of stat-per-gold types of comparisons, with the last leg of an upgrade price compared to increase in stats for that final leg factored in.

I hear you, but it’s taking me a long time to get the hang of this. If I don’t use AOE abilities, I’m lucky to get two creeps a wave.
I never actually look at creep health numbers, just the size of the bar over their heads, and that may be part of the problem. The bigger issue is probably getting a feel for when my creeps are going to hurt the opposing creeps, and for how much, so that I can initiate my attack right before my creeps bring the other creeps down to last-hit range.
Maybe I should make a custom game and practice that, without the extra chaos of laning.
Well it depends, if the enemy is doing a good job harassing you then it can be pretty hard to get those last hits.

I’m liking kennen. Got a killing spree off of karth mid, which was a new and wondrous experience.
Wow, was the other team all level 7 or something? I love the Lux that bought thornmail and effectively nothing else in a 34 minute game.
This.
Last hitting is by far the most important skill you can have in this game. People who are new should not feel ashamed at firing up a practice game and simply practicing this skill. It will go a huge way to smoothing out your play and you’ll see your win ratio start to look a lot better when you can get that IE at 23 minutes rather then 33.
hehe she started the game laning against me and Z- and she had like 500 hp. And I crit for 300. So pretty much she would walk up, and Z comboes her-instakill with any autoattack from me. :D we had em on the ropes.
Also i was on the fence about phage, but people kept running away from me, so it turned out to be a good purchase.
I played on a computer with a much bigger monitor yesterday and it made last-hitting noticeably easier. I guess I need to upgrade my 17-inch…

Gotta agree about last hitting. Accounting for friendly creeps hitting enemy creeps, and compensating for that DPS, is a learned experience. If you need to push back a bit as well, you can even gauge your own DPS in order to get two auto-swing kills.
There’s also the matter of knowing how AD affects the way you gauge it. Obviously it becomes much easier as you have a bigger chunk of health you can take out of the minion. Getting a fresh BF Sword for Ashe makes this change really obvious.
The first week I had the game, I spend most of the time practicing last hitting with the champ I wanted to start playing with (Ashe). What frustrates me now is that after playing Morgana for a while, I’m a bit rusty, as she can puddle her way to victory. Don’t be afraid to practice once or three times with bots - it’s the first best thing you can to do be a better player.
Last hitting actually gets harder as time goes on in the game, if you don’t go back to shop. Minions get more life, and more armor, and you have to compensate for this with your level and damage output. After a while, you do just get the feel for it. If I’m in the zone, I’ll farm every little morsel of gold I can get my grubby hands on.
I think you probably need to chill a bit in the game, because I really think it does piss you off and it is ultimately a game - sure it affects the team to an extent but it is only a game. If it pisses you off take the chill pill and go take a break :)
So after some terrible pub games I finally found a good team, only for the other team to lose two players. Gah. So, I took random Internet nerd’s advice and built only Warmogs (and boots) on Morde. At lvl 12 I had almost 3,000 hit points and at game end I had two Warmogs, 4,300 hp or so, 105 regen/5 and the cash to buy Warmogs 3.
I know this is a pointless strategy but my teammate says once you get 3 or 4 of them you regen so fast and have so many HP you are nigh-unkillable.
I guess bloodrazor would finish you, along with a lack of resists, but I can’t resist the idea of trying that build out, lol.

Health-regen helps in laning and regenerating between fights, but IN a fight even 200 hp/5 wont save you for long…

Therlun is right. Unless you are Mundo, you will never have enough regen to survive being focused. If you like the regen build, try Gragas with innervating locket and spirit visage. He is one of the hardest characters to kill in the game.
Also keep in mind, above ~3000 health resistances begin to matter far more. I’m a much more effective “tank” with 150ar/150mr 3100health then you ever will be with 40ar/30mr 4,300health.
That’s just the way the game maths works (150 is also the ideal number for a resistance btw hence the above example, after that diminishing returns makes it far too inefficient). Try Warmogs, FoN and Thornmail with a smattering of MPen items for a much more ridiculous Morde.
It doesn’t make me crazy angry. It’s frustrating if I’ve say, sacrificed my farm as a support character to give it to a carry, and they can’t capitalize at all on my sacrifice / team play. This is worse if someone complains that they need the farm, so I shouldn’t last hit so they can get the farm, but they are bad enough that they aren’t getting it either.
I firmly believe in practicing basic skills with new champs before I come into someone else’s game. The big reason for this is that if play very badly, I can ruin your time as well as my own. That’s probably just my own personal hang up, though - if we’re playing for the lulz (and some games we all are), then I don’t care, and will play someone I don’t know as well, and lower my expectations of my and other people’s performances appropriately.
Something else that is…interesting…is that many people highly undervalue killing / controlling dragon. It’s worth something like 2.5 champion kills for every single team mate, as well as the 130 gold. It’s a pretty big boost, and the team that controls dragon (given everything else is equal) is highly likely to win the game. I have a hard time in mumble convincing people that we should actually get dragon when we have the opportunity - people may not understand how important it is.
Dragon = Tower kill.
I find that’s the easiest meme to put into people’s heads about how important it is. Also jim, every mumble game is for lulz, so take it cheezey ;)
I get in so many games where we have a jungler and the single lane ends up being the bottom lane. It seems people always gravitate that way and I’m like, you want 2 on bottom to help control Dragon.

It’s worth 2.5 champion kills for the team as a whole in terms of gold. In terms of xp, it generates 200 per person. One level eight champion kill, in other words.
