Heh, wow, I consider every game a friendly game if its not a ranked match, about all I ask of people is that they actually stay connected and play through the match and not give up. We had some idiot disconnect around level 5 because we were ‘losing’, and then we ended up fighting tooth and nail against the other team as 4vs5 and the little jerk reconnects after a half hour and joins in just as we win.
Same xp iirc as a tower kill and 30 more Gold so that’s why I equate the two.
And I’d like to point out again, like Josh said, anything that’s not a ranked game = fun. People should learn not to take it too seriously (this is not directed at jim, just general advice) :)

200 xp per person from dragon, 300 per person per tower.
Ah but 30 more gold so :P

to whom all send me chat via steam about LOL, I was deathly ill this weekend and don’t have internet either until Wednesday.
Also dragon is kinda easier to kill without that much pressure of the enemy team :p

depends on the heros, tower is probably easier to kill than a dragon without pressure from enemy team.
Have to agree with Idrisz, towers go down much quicker then a Dragon (for the most part).
McKnight - the build you suggest is usually what I take. Maybe I will reserve stacking Warmogs for those silly games where cash and victory isn’t a problem.
Strange, all the high ELO (1900+) streams seem to talk about how incredibly important dragon is. Perhaps it’s because you can take dragon kills at level 5 when you have a good team (which would be pretty sweet, that’s HUGE XP for a level 5 player), and you rarely get a tower kill at level 5 - towers tend to stay up until at least 15 minutes into the game unless one team is crushing it.

because it’s much easier to get a dragon kill than tower kill since no one leave tower alone.
The original question was basing on if there were any enemy presence, if your team aced the enemy team, it’s much better to push a tower than do dragon.

Think of the 1900 elo people as, I dunno, olympic athletes. Every possible advantage they can wring out is hugely important. At lower levels, well, it’s still an advantage, but it’s not nearly so vital.
Which is to say that not only is the metagame different across the pond, it’s different at different skill levels.

I think in a game with some of you guys, one of you was playing Fiddle and nabbed us the first dragon at level 3 or 4. It was an INSANE early game boost.
In normal pug games people don’t try to control it as much as they should. I’ve played a few duo queues where we tried really hard to control it and the gold advantage became noticeable as the game went on.
Yeah, remember WCG where team NA/CLG went down early against EU because their style and bans didn’t account for EUs style at all. Same thing happened again in the recent New Egg tournament. CLG lost early to a Korean team (Team Over Powered) because they used champs and a play style that was different and unfamiliar.
That being said at standard Elo (1000-1300) there’s no discernible meta game. You get some Elementz tier list followers, people who play the FotM, people who play their “main” only, and people who have no business playing ranked.
Yep, it’s just for fun. Also you should ban Malphite and Amumu.
I was tired and drunk and just wanted to play the only 2 characters I own on your silly server! :P
Amumu isn’t ban-worthy anymore, IMO. I’d much rather face Amumu than Sona, Pantheon, Malphite, or Gragas.
Explanation:
Amumu is on par with Rammus, IMO. He’s a very strong tank and initiator but with the recent changes to AOE teams and characters he is no longer worthy of a ban.
Pantheon is ridiculously OP, especially from level 1-10 and snowballs to easy double-triple kills unless your team makes a focused effort to shut him down early.
Malphite will kill squishy champs before you can CC or kill him unless they have a strong escape mechanism (e.g. Flash, Trist’s jump, etc.)
Sona isn’t as strong as she used to be but she’s still a huge boost to whatever team has her. During a close match, Sona’s presence will win team fights.
Lastly, I used to think that Gragas bans were silly until I went against a couple of tanky locket Gragas that were pretty much unkillable. A strong Gragas can run away like Nidalee (yay for champs that can charge through terrain), out-live your tanks, and toss barrels that do surprising amounts of damage.

I think I need a new game to play, getting really bored of LoL, now that I own all the champs. :(
Don’t worry they release a new one every two weeks.
