It’s like, you know…math, and shit.

Here’s the most amusing game of LOL I’ve seen in a while. A total trolling of ~ 1/2 of the CLG clan.

There are some inside jokes, like if you watch the CLG group play, they’ll often start chanting “push push push” when they think they should push a tower. This team instead trolls with all gold per 5 items and some amusing vent and in-game chat.

An amusing game

I had one of my most satisfying/amusing in-game moments tonight. We’d taken two mid towers and one top tower, they hadn’t taken either top or mid. I, Malphite, was alone pushing top. I figured they’d be pulling toward me, so I backed off. Sure enough, there they all are. Huh. They…appear to be pushing. My initital reaction is to scream for backup, but we immediately realize that if they’re pushing our top they’re not defending their mid, which has creeps very near their inhib, and the rest of my team in their lower jungle as well. So I get to be the distraction. They take the tower quickly, I poke and bait a couple of them into chasing me a bit before they notice that, gee, their inhibitor is at risk. They pull back a bit and all start recalling. I wait until they’re mostly finished, then ult into one or two of them. The entire team overreacts, and they all abort their recall to engage me, although precisely one of them realizes this is dumb and walks back to their inhibitor. I beat up their squishies (kennen and ez) and then run like hell. They chase me all the way to our inner tower. I escape. They start backing off again. Then z, who is the only other person on my team not pushing mid, comes out of the jungle and together we murder ezrael, who they leave to die.

In sum, I go 1v4 and live while my team takes an inhibitor completely unopposed. Immensely satisfying.

3 straight queues, same guy says “I’m Kog Mid” before anyone else picks. 2 of those queues we get a guy who wants to play Urgot. Third time Urgot guy ends up on the other team. Kog Maw guy dies first to Urgot guy and immediately rage quits.

I really need to either quit this game or duo queue out of Elo Hell. I haven’t played with more than two people who have more than 20 wins ranked today.

I just played my first gameas WW, and my first game in the jungle. It was pretty great. I went 14/7/14, which isn’t a stellar score, but I got a little carried away chasing people in the first half of the game.

Since I’m still only level 20, the other team didn’t use any wards or do anything at all to inhibit my jungling, so both red and blue buffs were mine all the time. I got dragon four times by myself, which I was pretty happy about. I practiced a few times against the bots, and playing against real people was surprisingly similar. Glad I tried it out before hitting level 30!

Definitely always try out a new jungle routine against bots before taking it to the real game. There’s nothing more embarrassing than dying to a jungle creep with nobody else around.

That was a pretty hilarious game, mx. We were pushing mid and kept getting ready to turn and run… but they just kept dancing around with you. We took two mid towers and I almost started to turn and run, and then their Cho just starts WALKING back across the map. “Ok, screw it, let’s take the inhibitor.”

On a vaguely related note I have been having a lot of fun with Trundle and jungling by building straight to Stark’s as my first item, followed by slowly working on Trinity Force. The only problem is that every single game I played today, half the enemy team had flash and ghost and everyone starts focusing me in fights. I guess I’ll have to start building a bit more tanky and hating Riot a little more every day they don’t finally remove flash from the game.

For 2110 for the Manamune you are already getting the benefits of the meki (which is part of the manumune and whose benefits are retained all the way up).

It seems to me the argument is this:

Is it better to go (1) meki, boots1, BF (2590 gold, I think) a better route than (2) Manamune + boots1 (2460)? The Manamune isn’t going to provide much less damage than the BF; at 1000 max mana (not hard to hit thanks to the base +350) it’s providing +40 damage (20 base, and 2% of 1000).

By the time you build a blood thirster, though, you’ll have spent 3940 (assuming still using boots 1, and money for the meki which hasn’t been upgraded to a goblet or a tear). With the manamune build, by the time you hit 3900 gold you are manamune, boots2, and then a vampiric scepter if you want (alternately, you’ll be part of the way to a BF. Or you can buy wards to make Bunny feel good, but then not use them and listen to him wine about warding). And you’re damage still won’t be much behind the Bloodthirster’s +60 (to get to +60 damage on the manamune you need 2k max mana, which you won’t have no question. But if you are pushing 1500 you’ll be at +50 damage). The other benefit of the thirster is how easy it is to get the stacks, so your damage will shoot up from there. I kind of liked having all the extra mana from the mune (ugh), though, so I’ll have to compare playing without anything beyond meki before I can say for sure.

Do you not turn the meki into anything better early?

Anyway, I’m not saying it’s (manamune) categorically better, or even necessarily equal. I had been wanting to go for an early BF on sivir for awhile (I had not played her in a couple of weeks). But after using manamune last night, it doesn’t seem like a crazy idea. And don’t misunderstand me, I think idrisz is insane and generally not to be trusted.

You’re ignoring how long the manamune takes to charge. If you assume that the game is infinitely long, then yes it’s better. In a more competitive game, you’ll likely have decided the winner by 25 minutes in.

In reality, you’re better off with the early game advantage provided by BF sword, which will let you farm and kill more efficiently. Snowballing is what this game is all about. Manamune is better on characters who can proc tear of the goddess a lot before they finally get the manamune, so it starts off fairly charged up. I could imagine a character like Ez would charge it up quickly because he spams skills so much, and starts charging it a few minutes into the game. As a similar example, Kassadin lives and dies on spamming his abilities, so TotG is excellent on him.

For the record, I’d tune meki into a chalice, and solve my mana problems that way, until late game where my mp5 runes / masteries took care of mana issues.

I’m not ignoring how long manamune takes to charge. I am saying that boots1 + chalice + bloodthirster is like 4400 gold. Manamune + boots 2 is 3000-3300 gold (or, manamune + boots 1 + B.F. is <4400 gold; that’s also a possibility and I did it in one game). And that manamune is +40 damage for a level 10 sivir (sans any stacks at all, it’s really +38. But whatever).

The Bloodthirster is a slick proccing weapon, but at max procs you barely out damage the manamune build. The life steal is kick ass, don’t get me wrong. But getting the 400whatever gold for the scepter at that point is pretty trivial. I don’t think idrisz is completely crazy on this one, is all.

The other thing is, with Manamune you get AD earlier as you buy the basic sword item for relatively cheap, I usually grab that before upgrading meki to a tear. When playing Sivir I tend to go Manamune, boots, into Bloodthirster, then Warmogs/Atmas or maybe more AD instead. I have pretty good luck in general, especially with survivability with Warmogs/Atmas. Don’t look at my last Sivir game though, that game rapidly went from 5v4, to 5v3, to 5v1 with me being the 1.

manamune doesn’t take long to charge, it charge up with auto attack at SAME TIME with skills, with sivir, I manage to fully charge a manamune around 30 minutes mark, having over 2500 mana on sivir with just manamune.

err manamune also proc off her SS, which on is a 6 second cooldown(I <3 blue buff and cooldown reduction items), it’s extremely good on sivir, the only reason I can farm close to 300 creeps in less than 30 minutes is due to manamune basically allowing me to throw my boomerang whenever I want, at pretty much any jungle camp(I throw boomerang at something even if no creep is around). Also going mid mean you get tear of goddess around creep wave 4-5, since I play sivir with ghost and teleport(YEAAAAH), I start with meki and 2 pots, the moment I have 500G, I B and buy tear, then teleport back, farm until I can get manamune.

P.S

Sivir gain 43 mana a level, at lvl 18 just from her base mana alone she gains 20 AD from Manamune, not mentioning one of my defensive item for sivir is Banshee’s veil which adds another 400 mana, usually I hit 18 on sivir around 35 minutes mark since she farms so well, I have around 2200 mana, which means I gain 44 attacks + 20 base on manamune that’s 64 attacks for 2110, which is better ratio than a BF sword from damage alone.

Morde is so OP on Twisted Treeline. We were down 0-6, Nasus decided to buy an oracle to kill my dragon ward, I got angry and got a triple kill, and it was all downhill from there.

Mord has always been OP on TT.

I seem to recall a certain deal made with a certain player ‘Peacedog’ in that if i showed up for one of the games he would sing “livin in a box” for me in mumble (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sq8VDXlWQk)

debts must be paid… must be paid.

TRYNDAMERE! :(

I wanna see us play a team of Tryn, Zilean, Annivia, Kylie (?) and another invulnerable-making type heroes. And then get guardian angels for all at mid-game.

The whole manamune thing…my problem is, it’s awesome if you’re playing a nice civilized game, where everyone is staying in their lane and farming until the agreed upon team phase. The problem I run into, is where someone else went straight for BF and you’re sitting there trying to fight them thinking…“just wait, my damage is going to be good”, as you get your face melted.

It’s sort of an I’m not going to snowball item, and I think there are a lot of those. Items that look sexy and powerful, but end up gimping you early game, where most things are decided.

2 kills in the lane phase, is worth so much more than 2 kills at 30 minutes in most cases…but that’s just me and I suck at LoL.

This, with a side of yes. This is the exact same reason why people stack 3 doran’s swords in competitive games.

But Manamune damage is good. If you got it at level 8, with no stacks at all, it’s +38 damage out of the gate. You could also grab the sword that builds into it earlier for the early +10. Yeah that means leaving the lane early, but on Sivir you should probably be running Teleport so you can bounce somewhere fast and push towers down, so that negates early lane leaving.

And revive.
