Aye. When I play with you guys, I can at least see where my mistakes happened, and with experience I can improve my skills. But when the rest of my team is just dying by doing the same exact thing over and over again and expecting different results, and then I get blamed for not having the tanking prowess to lead the team, there’s absolutely nothing I can learn from the experience at all.

Yup, its very hard to solo tank already, but stack on a well fed opposing team and a skittish and disorganized losing team…and you’re doomed to failure.

I tried Kennen last night as well, Kennen mid. I suspect there’s an intricacy to using the marks of storm that I’m not getting. I should probably try again but paying more attention to the “5th attack does extra damage” part of the passive.

Yeah, the worst players are often the biggest whiners. I’ve started to use /ignore pretty often. It sucks not to be able to see their occasional useful comment, but at least I don’t actively want to get them killed.

Admittedly I haven’t used him much, but that just doesn’t seem that dependable, when you can get all three marks just by chaining all his abilities. I found his ninja star at first was kind of lame, but its actually really good.

It has been bugging me that there aren’t any good character tutorials (that I can find) for LOL (I am thinking of tutes as good as the zoning one narrated by some lass) and so I am tempted to make one or two myself. My goal would be to make a tutorial for the sort of people who would find one useful - ie, not high level ranked-type players but mid level players who have picked up a new hero and want to get better with them.

Is that a bit presumptuous? I am rather new, after all. But I figure I could so Morde and maybe Trist some justice and cover, at least, my ideas on playing them and convey how I play a lane as each, what I do in team fights, etc. It might be useful to someone…

If folks think this would be interesting I would love tips on an editor that let’s me “pause” footage and potentially draw on top of tue image so I can mark zones, highlight things, etc. I am using Windows Movie Maker now but have some experience with premiere and Vegas. I don’t recall if any of these let me “draw” on the image, etc.

have try leaguecraft. there is about 50+ tutorial/guides per character by player.

Leaguecraft is my go-to site for starting new characters. Sort the guides by rating (have to click twice, since the default goes Ascending for some stupid reason), and read the top several to see what they suggest as core builds, and their justification for it.

Sometimes, they will differ wildly from the “suggested build” on the in-game buy screen, and for good reason. Maybe you want to try AP Yi or AP Cho, and want to know the best items… Leaguecraft has a guide for whatever you might want to try.

Ultimately it would be nice to customize the in-game buy screen with your own preference for items.

I use leaguecraft a lot, but very few of the guides provide the detail I am thinking of. By that I mean - most of you are level 30 and experienced players already, you can read a guide and quickly pick up the gist of the character. When you are not as experienced like I was/am, the guide will show you what to build, but not how to “be” in the lane and just how far you can push a character, little weird tips and tricks (I don’t recall a Morde guide ever suggesting dropping your metal shield thing on your ghost or supercreep - something quite funny and worthwhile - let alone dropping it on someone like Amumu just before he charges and ultis).

Anyway, there are things I have had to learn through doing I have not seen written up that I think a video would teach well, but it wouldn’t teach you lot much because you know what you are doing. But, players in their teens and twenties… Yeah, maybe it would work! Hmm, maybe I will make a sample and see how it goes.

There’s some stuff, like knowing when you can win a fight and when you will lose, that no guide will help with.

New patch notes are EPIC:

Sunfire Cape

* Upgrade cost increased to 800 from 700
* Passive is now unique

Ouch.

Flash is no longer a get out of tower dive free card. Nice.

Sight Ward

* Health reduced to 1 and armor reduced to 0
* Reduced collision and spellhit sizes
* Duration reduced to 3 minutes from 4.5

Vision Ward

* Health reduced to 1 and armor reduced to 0
* Reduced collision and spellhit sizes
* Duration reduced to 3 minutes from 3.5

Wriggle’s Lantern Ward

* Health reduced to 1 and armor reduced to 0
* Reduced collision and spellhit sizes

FINALLY.

They nerfed Cho’Gath? What?

Kat now scaling off both AD and AP at the same time instead of one or the other sounds like it is time for me to play more all Gunblade Katarina.

Also, I find this the most hilarious thing in there:
Innervating Locket has been removed
“Ok, so yeah, this whole item was a stupid idea. Let’s pretend it never happened.”

Locket Udyr and Locket Cho were forces to be reckoned with so both got nerfs and the item got removed. I think they realized it was making tanks in general too powerful.

Does sunfire’s passive being unique mean one per person or one per team?

I thought they nerfed locket into the ground when locket soraka was owning everything, but I guess it made a comeback. These are pretty extensive changes at this point in the game. I didn’t even realize flash popped projectiles. I wonder why they don’t just remove it instead of slowly nerfing it to death. Why did wards need nerfing and why is l0lh3h3 excited about it?

Oh, and no global exp for dragon and less for towers is another big one.

Also, does

"“Healing” due to a level up will now be adjusted by a portion of your missing health. In general, less health will mean less recovery. Healing from Catalyst the Protector remains unaffected.
mean that if you have less health, you recover less on leveling up? That seems counter-intuitive.

Per person I would imagine.

I’m just happy they made the wards have 1 hp instead of like 300 or whatever it was, killing wards on a support character with no base damage and armor pen is annoying as hell.
