My guess is that you have to get very lucky with the procs and dodge rolls. As in it’s theoretically possible, you just have to have everything go your way.

And another 6300 IP champion :/

I am starting to play a pretty good Nidalee! I go doran’s ring -> boots -> Spirit Visage -> Merc Treads -> Lich bane -> void staff or rylais.

With that build you get some great healing and great magic resist, which helps with surviving burst damage when you pounce in for a kill.

Jealous! Hard as I try, even with the same build, I never seem to do anything useful with her.

I never actually tried going spirit visage, i usually go doran’s ring -> boots -> guinsoo rageblade -> ninja tabi/merc treads depending on enemy team -> zhonya/lich bane.

Actually a Rageblade and two Gunblades. Ninja tabi don’t seem to do much of anything against Baron since so much of his stuff is undodgeable. You can’t do it with a Rageblade and one Gunblade but the added life, damage, and life stealing/spell vamp from the second Gunblade let you solo him and have 3/4 of your health left when you’re done. So you might be able to do it with a Rageblade, Gunblade, and like half the stuff for a second Gunblade.

At that point you can easily backdoor the first two towers in any lane without help too.

Worst laning experience in a long time tonight. I was Morde with Sona facing a Cho and a Sion. They sat in the closest bush to our tower and as soon as we got in XP range of the creeps, I got ruptured, then stunned, then silenced. If I made it out, it was with 10-20% health. I usually made it out, but Sona died a few times. Still died about 3 times myself but couldn’t figure how to break that combo. None of the other characters on our side would have had a good solution either. Ouch!

You get a ward and put it into the bush.

If you’re tower hugging and you know it’s coming, the rupture shouldn’t be that hard to dodge, should it?

Couldn’t you hug the other side of the bush? Sion doesn’t have that long of range. (Of course i say that after getting wacked early in a game last night with a similar team) Of course, worse comes to worse, you could’ve just sat by your tower while they sit in the bush. You both get xp, just neither of you get gold. Or lane switch with someone who has an AoE attack who can just plop it on the bush.

In the time it takes to get caught in a rupture and land, Sion can easily move from a bush to stun range.

Sion will stun you and then the rupture will come. Honestly the best way to counter anyone zoning you purely by sitting in a bush is to go and buy a ward and put it inside, thus giving you vision of them at all times.

The ward might of helped… but I am not so sure. We still wouldn’t have been able to dodge their combo, we would just know they were there. But it is the best idea I have heard - should have thought of it myself, I do tend to buy wards.

Anyway, that was an extremely punishing combo!

I think Shen is the new Garen

Played a few games now where he was his usual annoying tank, but also had the most kills

Shen is nowhere near as annoying as Garen. Just don’t harass him until after he uses his Ki strike on a creep.

Gotta agree with Pogo, Shen is no Garen. His Taunt is good, but he’s really short ranged, and doesn’t have a lot of speed moves beyond his taunt. He also runs out of energy fast in team fights, and doesn’t have any major direct damage abilities like Garen.

Shen isn’t about teamfights, his key skill is turning a 1v1 into a 2v1 and he does it brilliantly.

Also a ward in the bush allows you to harass them, just as if they were sitting in lane in front of you. For instance Sona could Q them to pieces aswell as being able to see when Sion turned on his shield.

Shen’s always been and always will be one of the best tanks in the game. He can jungle, he has an AoE taunt and a live-saving teleport. Ask McKnight just how badly Shen can fuck a team up, let alone a duel (you cannot duel with Shen around).

Stand United is one of Riot’s best ideas and is just about balanced now.

Garen, on the other hand, is a kind-of tank/damage hybrid and just took a bit of a damage hit with the Sunfire Cape changes. Shen’s ten times as annoying as Garen when played properly, but I don’t think he’s back to ban-status yet.

Oh, someone mentioned Cho’Gath and Locket. No. Cho’s a bit underpowered. Gragas is the entire reason for the locket changes as between his passive, his spamming and Locket procs he was nearly unkillable (as was Udyr). He was a ban for a while, in fact. That’s why he got nerfed recently.

As to bush-huggers, vision is key. It lets you see when Cho’s dropped Rupture and when they’re moving on you.

You can also go to the river side of the lane instead of the tower side, but you lose the option of retreating to the tower and are more open to ganks from jungler/mid. They also might just force you back again, but at least you’d get a fight with them in the open.

Only thing about warding the bush now is that wards have 1 life, meaning they can’t really be in the bush while you are warding it, which may take a while.
