I don’t know I’ve had reasonable success with both Akali and Amumu when I smurfed to show some of the new guys the ropes (43-7 and 39-2 respectively) :)
I’ve heard good things about Tyrnd and Gangplank aswell. Smurfing should be discouraged though, I mean it’s a bit of fun to do it once or twice but it just makes you worse (looking at you Lazy) ;)
Also sorry I haven’t been around, I’ve had my finals this past week and… Yea, basically that.

Gonna be playing tonight :)
First time in like 2 weeks? This should be fun…

Well I was talking about playing with the American guys and why I haven’t been around their time, but HoN is awesome aswell ;)

Blue, at that level the hero doesn’t matter. I made a new smurf, along with ini, to show a guy from a different forums the ropes. And yeah, we’d completely forgotten how awful new people are, so even though we were both using heroes we were unfamiliar with it was all legendary all the time.

With two of you it’s unfair though, things are slightly harder when it’s just you ;)

I’m pretty sure it’s still unfair when it’s just one of you. Which is the real reason not to smurf; you’re ruining someone’s day. Or game, anyway. And, okay, you do that normally anyway, but the guys you normally compete with are at least theoretically at your skill level. This is like high school soccer players going and playing a round or two with a junior high team.

Key word “theoretically” ;)

Is ELO based only on win/lose?
Also on who you win/lose against.
Elo, not ELO.
It’s named after Arpad Elo.

Yeah I only played 3 games but it is definitely unfair. The number of just absolutely stupid things I’ve seen people do in those 3 games was almost disheartening. It’s not uncommon to see 2 people in the mid lane for one team, weird item builds, people getting executed by towers because they didn’t realize it was hitting them etc etc. I checked the profiles of some of the guys I played against and saw that they were that bad in every match they’d played.
It’s interesting just to watch and wonder how much they understand about what is happening to them etc.
I don’t think I’m gonna continue though, I’m more likely to uninstall the game at this point.
Noobs are noobs - news at 11. Where does one learn this stuff? It’s not like the tutorial gives you much detail, it doesn’t even cover last hits, let alone lane strategy.

Sure, I guess I’d forgotten what it was like. And yeah the tutorial is straight balls.
It also probably didn’t help that it was like 4am PST and most of my team had 200 pings and didn’t speak English.
McKnight: I’m not really sure what this game has left for me. I realized recently that I spent as much time on this as some people do on MMOs and I think it contributed to some negative things that happened to me that I wish I had avoided.
I don’t know, I’ll probably still be down to play with you guys from time to time but yeah I don’t know anymore.
yessss- everyone swap to a shooter- more L4D2! more BFBC2!!! more anything :D
MNC? The game is onsale! And it’s pretty fun, TBH.
I like the “report player” button. Sure, using it probably achieves nothing but it makes me feel better after a MF on their team startsabusing our awful team. I am running 6/1/4 and that makes up all but one of our kills and all I hear is how bad we are (given) and since I am the only one talking, how bad I am. Grrr!

I almost feel like, for random games over the internet, there is no reason to allow communication between the two teams. Very few civil conversations go on beyond maybe the very basic “gg hf”, i’d say about 80% of inter-team chatter is negative or abusive in random games.

True. But I have had some memorable and amusing inter-team chats, but they are in the minority.
