I try to say something friendly in all chat at the beginning of every game in the hopes that it will make the atmosphere more friendly and chatty overall. Maybe it works, but it’s hard to say really. Most of the jerks I notice in chat are on my team anyway.

Oh riot, sigh:

hey it’s a grown up trist!!!

Bazongas aside, I wonder how many champions the game can really sustain. I’m surprised how fast they come out.

Yeah, i guess they are catering to their playerbase? So to cater to men, it’s big boobs, to cater to girls, its cutesy characters. Sort of a weird mishmash of things.

On a side note: It’s really annoying that Nunu’s ult isn’t visible if he’s hiding in a bush. (at least, if I’m not Nunu)

I thought the game had some juvenile style playing off the Goth Annie and Emo Amumu themes, I found those creative. But big boobs and gunslingers… I guess it’s ok since there’s already one gunslinger and he’s male.

Need female Cho’Gath now I guess.

So a sexy bug or a cutesy bug? They also need a female Rammus.

Doesn’t Dota have over a 100?

I haven’t played that, but I guess that’s my answer: lots more. I think it’ll be able to keep up as long as I keep playing, but a huge number of characters has got to be intimidating to the new players.

LoL handles that sort of accidentally, doesn’t it? The majority of new players probably aren’t spending money and are limited to whatever selection there is for the week.

I do think its a bit of a balance nightmare having so many characters, and coming up with new concepts for each character is probably tough as well.

That kind of brings up a good point… are there any female tank characters?

Vlad, Mordekaiser, Cho’Gath (assuming male here, or asexual), Gragas, Shen, Nunu, Amumu, Alistair (no udders), Malphite, Rammus…

I don’t think it’s that much of a nightmare. The team has all the hard numbers (DPS, burst, health, armor, resists) with which to gauge the impact of new skills. Every champion is just a different take on already-defined playstyles. They still have some tweaking to do, of course. An Ashe arrow stun followed by volley/DPS is balanced since her low raw AD takes into account that she can only have a certain amount of items of damage/speed in combination. Malphite’s horse shit charge/stun/groundpound kind of isn’t.

Most of the female champs are ranged DPS or mages, whereas there are almost no male ranged DPS (but lots of male melee DPS and tanks). Totally not adhering to old school gender roles or anything stupid like that.

That’s only true if like most people you consider kennen and ezreal female. Also, malphite and vlad off the top of my head.

Except neither Malphite nor Vlad are ranged DPS.

And I’m sorry but Kennen is clearly female, I don’t care what lore Riot is pushing out the door these days she is still a girl.

Also Malphite is no longer broken as of this patch… Just putting that out there.

Oh yeah increasing the mana cost of a spell by 20 mana at level 18 really makes a difference.

Hint: Seismic Shard has little to do with his OPness

I said most not all. Also Kennen is a mage, not ranged DPS. Ez, Corki and Twitch are pretty much the only ranged dps that are male.

Have to gloat over a couple of awesome ganks tonight. Got ghost on MF and then sent my pet tower diving their gang. Most backed off but Caseiopia engaged the ghost. I dove a bit, dropped the shield on the ghost and pulled back, Caseiopia proceeded to get eaten by the shield and was finished off by me diving again. Awesome. I know my HP-heavy build isn’t favoured by many, but for hanging around towers with impunity from the teens it is bloody awesome fun.

MF is ridiculous. She had berserker greaves and was ghosting and was faster than me as blitz with overdrive, ghost, boots of swiftness, and 3 movement speed quintessences. How is that even possible?
