Sounds like Zhonya’s is getting split into two items in a the next patch.
Mmmm, the range nerf on Seismic Shard was much more significant than the mana increase and the loss of speed vamp (and actually that was increased at the first two points). I’m not saying SS is a bigger deal than his ult, mind.

I play the character so don’t treat me like a fucking idiot. The range nerf on his Q was what was huge. The damage reduction is quite noticeable aswell, it’s no longer the ultimate harassment tool.
He was broken before, now not so much.
I am starting to think that’s a good thing. I’m not so sure some of the item abilities aren’t a little unbalancing. I don’t know why we don’t see more Zhonyas on various casters (or caster like characters, anyway). I’ve seen a number of them use the item to change team fights completely.
Also, as a reminder, flash does not save you from towers any more.
Sorry, I misunderstood that as most casters are female - not the other way around. How many female ranged dps are there? Trist, mf, ashe, nidalee (sort of)… What is kog maw? Oh and teemo is male, right? Oh, and twisted fate. The only big issue is a lack of female tanks imo. Weird that they don’t throw in at least one morgana-esque primary tank.

So my opinion that it wasn’t actually Seismic Shard that made him OP causes you to defend Seismic shard? What? I don’t actually have a problem with SS, even though it’s still quite powerful because, if you haven’t actually fucking noticed while you were paranoid about how people talked to you over the internet, it was aBUFFED for the first two skill levels and unchanged for the third.
My comment on the mana part is that it did absolutely nothing to quell the ridiculous power of the character at level 18.

But you are still missing how much the skill changed. It wasn’t hugely buffed at low skill levels (I know the first level went to 14% sap from 10%; I think the second went up 3%, and the third is the same, and again this is with losing damage iirc). The skill initially had a range of 700. That’s Tristana’s autoattack range at level 18 (a little bit less, iirc, but we’re not talking much). And that range was attached to a-non skill shot skill (that would be a short range for many skill shots, but this is why they are called skill shots). And it did good damage. I only played maplh a few times before the nerf; I can’t say I noticed the damage as much but the range change was immediately noticeable. He’s significantly easier to get away from now (I won’t say easy; there are too many other factors). Before the nerf if Malph was chasing a champion they were dead short of some skill-aided escape (be it rocket jump or ghost or whatever). And even then in some cases it wasn’t enough. The range was a bigger factor in the skill than the speed sap, no question.
IMO, this particular component of his character was imbalanced.

I suppose going from 700 range down to 625 is quite a decrease. My issue with Malph is more his ult+ground slam combined with a fairly potent damage soaking passive. If I build a Cho’Tank, his rupture won’t push through nearly as much damage, and it’s a skillshot! There are plenty of champions which assist others in slowing down fleeing victims, and the range of SS (Q) was just icing on a cake.
Although as far as I can tell from the latest patch notes, damage is unchanged on his slow. Unless there was an earlier patch that had already reduced it (which blows my mind as it still felt like it did a lot of damage just a week ago).

I get that. I think it’s worth pointing out, though, that he was worse before the nerf.
I have no opinion on his ult combo, in terms of opness. Also, the combo is R->W->E (you can w first, but I prefer to do it after the ult; I mean, you have the time at that point); the active portion of the W boosts armor which boosts E damage (of course). And you get more armor, and some more attack damage (but really, that doesn’t matter so much). The damage from R and E is subject to defenses.
The damage shield is nice but not hard to poke through (just 10% of max health). And his ult is interruptable (not easily, though). I would not say he’s fine as is (but he’s not the only champ with a team fight changing ult, either). I think there are champions that need tweaking before he does, though.

But now you are comparing an Ult-based skill combo from one champ to a single skill from another. Hardly fair. Cho won’t put out the damage in bursts the way he does, but you also have an ult that does lots of true damage (and stacks you with health).
Interested in rune page ideas for Trynd, Trist and Morde. I have pages for these guys, but just wan to compare notes and look for more/better thinking.
Oh, that dodge mastery is funny. What I didn’t think about until I got it is how often one can dodge creeps. This has provided handy bursts of speed when laning and even while escaping Vlad in a team fight. I also suspect dodge applies to MF’s “Make it Rain” tho I am not quite sure.
Out of interest are ninja boots the only way to add dodge in game now. I used them on my ashe build yesterday and whilst it affected his overall speed he was far more survivable. Will be changing my masteries and runes to add to it further tonight.
Trist? Armor Pen for sure and Attack Speed, perhaps. Quints to taste.
Armor Pen Red and Quints for Trist. That much is non-negotiable. Yellows and Blue’s to your own taste.
I’m not sure how you missed this, but Ashe is a girl.
