I like having enemy-talk on. Even if someone is going crazy with the insults, it’s usually not enough to be distracting and oftentimes is an amusing indicator of how things are going. The trash talking seems to stop awful quickly if their team starts going on the defensive.

Been trying a new build on Morde, and although unconventional, I find it really fun.

First, regrowth built into a Warmogs, along with boots 1.

Second, sorc boots and Leviathan (durn durn durrrn, I know everyone hates it, but hear me out).

Third, haunting guise followed by Amtas or Rylais. I was going Rylais first, but will go Atmas in future.

What this gives you, usually, is 3000+ health at lvl 12ish, and more than 4000 at 18 (4700 if you max leviathan’s stacks, I believe). You get leviathan because the 9-or-so stacks you need to beat the more expensive belt for health boost come easily, and if you do make it to 20, well that’s just gravy. Cheap health, on top of Warmogs and Rylais = a really powered Atmas (which provides a little AR by the way).

I haven’t seen the damage you start doing at 4000+ hitpoints, but that same build with Force Of Nature instead sees 18% crit and 260 damage, or something, which is great for face whacking.

Another reason for the health is that with the pet nurf pets can be quite soft (bonus of 15% of Morde’s health from 50%). This way, at 18, a pet Ryze has 3000 hp and, of course 75% of your AP and AD.

I know standard theory is to stack resists to 150 and 3000hp, and this will keep your shield alive longer, etc, but anyone playing Morde out there i suggest you try this approach. I have survived things I shouldn’t have and really only Bloodrazor is the counter (and you should be charging that carry and COTG them anyway). Having this much health means you live long enough to cycle Q, W and E three times or more while being picked on, rather than one or two, so in the end, more shield soaking and more damage.

Next goal is to get the huge HP, Atmas, and then Ghost a Trist. Her stats +75% of my AD and a bonus 15% health might put the ghost back into the threat it used to be on the field.

Anyway, some fun experimenting.

/ignore ally tals.

you can also /ignore playername, incase their is just one particular chap you find irritating, although with some people’s names it’s probably easier to type enemy :)

Leviathan is probably one of the worst items in the game, and also the most inefficient stacking item. You need 12 stacks in order for it to pay for itself, and that simply ain’t going to happen in a normal game.

I can see it, as tanks can go very high assists/low deaths. Still not sure I’d argue it’s worth it though.

The point is if you manage to get your stacks that high you would win the game without buying it, so what’s the point?

It does tempt newbie’s though, given that if you get to 20 stacks you are basically invincible. The 15% reduction is applied separately to your own resists.

At 9 stacks you are beating the health bonus of a giants belt (which is 100-and-a-bit cheaper), and as Morde I can hold 10-15 stacks pretty easy. Even in games the team loses. I am level 27 now, so although I am not always facing vets, I seem to do consistently well in terms of assists and kills vs deaths.

It may indeed by better to drop the Leviathan and instead work on a different giants belt based item for much the same - if not better effect - at higher cost. One nice thing about my revised build is that is comes in at 12,000ish gold, which is quite achievable in many pubby games :)

Oh, might have to switch blues back to MR rather than CDR with this build. Can’t decide. 10% total CDR doesn’t seem that awesome.

Apologies for leaving the euro practice game tonight without saying anything! I can only take getting owned by Eve for so long :P I don’t know what was going through my head when I agreed to play you guys!

hehe no worries, it was actually going pretty well till Eve got on her roll and then it was game over. Interesting game anyway but yep we should have balanced the teams

Aww Copet don’t be like that :(

The teams were horrendously imbalanced though, I think we all knew that.

Those new ‘caster’ items I think are going to lead to some interesting new tank builds.
The Hourglass seems pretty worthwhile on tanks with the 50 armor, 100 AP and the 2 sec invuln. Rammus with this and an Abyssal scepter will bet at 170 AP, +50 AR +57 MR. Wonder how kicking it off after taunt will work where you are untargetable, did anyone ever try that with Zhonya on Rammus?

Jesus panacake. Dropping 20 ap from Zhonya’s in favor of 50 armor (in the replacement item) is not an improvement. At all. Every caster is going to get it and now they’re going to have a significant armor boost on top of the invulnerability. Because tank casters needed to be buffed.

Also, they called the other new caster item the “Infinity Edge of caster items”. Except that it gives +155 ap and a passive 30% boost to ap. That’s a crazy passive AP boost. I don’t see that as equivalent.

They split Zhonya’s unique abilities in half. The invulnerability active is on the armor item and the 25% passive boost is now 30% on the other. Both cost around 3000 gold now when Zhonya’s cost over 3000 before.

Vlad is going to be stupid op.

The lead champion designer already admitted that this is probably the case but they want to “let things play out” just to see.

In other words, save your IP and start learning Vlad kids because he’s gonna own for 2 weeks before getting nerf batted.

Some of these custom skins own the shit out of the stuff Riot is charging for.

Well, Riot can’t exactly make a Yoshi or Cloud skin without a lawsuit…

Sure they can, which is why they already have a Wonder Woman skin and Xena skin and…

Stop being silly mx, copet is clearly right with most of those custom skins in mind.

Okay well ignoring the obvious copyright infringement ones, (not that that has stopped Riot before) there’s still some really awesome ones that are more than color swaps.

Didn’t Valve do something like that with TF2, where they gave a huge share of the profits to the creators? Yeah. If Riot were competent…
