Tried a jungle Rammus tonight - failed miserably. Maybe I need to be 30 (2 more levels!) before the various guides start working as intended. Grr!

Yep need to see Copet with Blitz in EU :)

Hey Bunny, I tried to log onto mumble yesterday during a Qt3 match and it told me I needed a password. Will I need to learn the secret handshake too?

There was an issue with an old registration of your name. Bunny resolved that and you should be able to join again.

When you install Mumble, it generates a unique SSL certificate as your identifier. If you uninstall and reinstall, the certificate changes, so the server doesn’t recognize you. That’s how the server knows you are you, without manually putting in a password.

Haha, nothing personal, I’m just impatient and will just solo queue while you guys are in a game, or sometimes my friends/family come on, and I don’t think they like being thrust into games with all level 30s.

Or you guys just don’t have a slot available for me =)

We’ll get a game in eventually.

I’m using my lame pseudo carry rune book for him and I go through the jungle faster than WW:

Armor Pen Reds
Dodge Yellows (not really good for Rammus)
MP Regen/5 Blues

3 Health Quints

I go 1/18/11 for masteries.

Flash/Smite for summoners.

For leveling I go:
W/Q/W/E/E/R then max out E, followed by W. If you’re having trouble early on take a third level of W at 5 instead of E.

I usually try to gank mid at level 4 with red buff. If you can pull off a flash taunt it’ll be pretty good.

Managed to reliably jungle with Ram now, thanks for that all! I go blue, wolves, wraiths, and can do red or the double guys before porting back and then going to get probably the red to aid ganking. From there, one is level 4 and ready to aid a gank - but if there’s no gank, one does… what? Keep on jungling with an eye for more gank opportunities? Getting a sense of the jungling “Rhythm” is evading me right now.

Anyone got some favoured builds for Ram? I see lots of resist stacking, which makes sense I guess, and boots depending on opponents. I always get nervous about having low health though, regardless of resists.

I love free Kogmaw weeks, nobody plays him properly :)

l0l knows where it’s at! Movement speed ftw!

I’m quitting normal games btw, gonna just be playing ranked from now on. Sick of bad people insisting on playing carries and never actually carrying the team.

Edit : That’s just during my last week of solo queuing. I guess I should get on mumble more. :(

I’ve had the odd good randoms game but more often as not it’s a bad experience :( You’ll find ranked randoms will be the same tbh.

I’m currently holding 1400 ELO in ranked and the games seem to be pretty decent atm, I’m thinking I’ll get around to 1600 and it’ll start to get challenging.

Btw tals, you should try playing all random all mid games with me, you learn heroes you wouldn’t usually still play, with it still being fun at the same time. It’s a pretty good way to warm up too, last hitting vs 4 other players is harder than you think.

Yeah the all random all mid we played was a lot of fun, In my year of play i’d never played that style of game eith no brush/no ga and no going back.

Because i’m all fingers and thumbs I suspect i’ll only be good at a few champs - though team make up contributes hugely. Had some good/excellent games this weekend

Been a while since 5v5 all mid

A great commentary from (I think) one of the best commentary players in the game - watching him will teach you how to play much better. He explains exactly why he’s doing everything he’s doing, talks about both his good plays (and others), and his mistakes, and team positioning.

Teemo game

Yeah I like his commentary. Very good basic knowledge (for ranked players anyways) about the situations he encounters.

I would join you, as it’s really tempting, but there are obvious reasons I won’t. Why aren’t you on Mumble any more? Even the odd occasion I’m on people noted that you’re missing.

I play almost exclusively ARAM, again for obvious reasons. I seem to get either Taric or Kayle more often than I would expect. Bit weird. I also reckon Kayle’s a completely different character in ARAM. In normal games she’s a ranged carry, in ARAM she’s better as a support.

Been playing Taric all day, read all the guides etc. Started out trying to follow the basic Merc treds, chalice, aegis route, basically cool down reduction, resists, and armor. Meh… bad heal past lane phase, and an ult that will OOM you in about 5 seconds.

So I started really taking a look at his abilities, and trying some different builds. Everything about this character seems to scream attack speed and damage to me. I played a few games where I built items that gave both ability power and attack speed, i.e. nashors, stinger, malady. Worked really well.

His Q (heal) get’s a 2 second CD reduction for every hit he does, and there is no time between when that triggers. I.E., if you attack fast enough, that heal is just up all the time. Couple this with his passive (7.5% of his damage per hit mana back) and you can literally stand there and chain heal all day long and never even dent your mana.

Now the real kicker was his Ult. There seems to be wide spread complaint about running out of mana too fast, and how semi useless his ult is. I couldn’t disagree more. If you can actually get your attack speed up with a nashors and a malady, you can leave your ULT on full time as long as you’re attacking something, and barely lose mana…it’s fairly silly.

What I’m trying to come up with, is a good mix between the usual build him like a tanky support kind of character, and getting some attack speed on him.

This toon really strikes me as a classic Paladin. As long as you’re hitting something, you can pretty much keep all your abilities up full time. Seems to me like building him as a tanky support with no damage and attack speed is a huge mistake.

Impart your various wisdom upon me why this is not the case.

I play from two systems - one at home, and a laptop while away. Could that be the cause of the trouble?
