Anivia is hands down one of the best casters in the game right now idrisz.
I do love your criticisms though. Really a champion that dies if they are focused? That either does well or does awfully? Wow, that’s definitely not like every other champion in the damn game.
Also at some point I need to mid against you as Trist again. I feel my Trist play is coming on but I don’t like some of the match ups and could do with watching how someone else plays them.
And 99% of the time you’re better off playing a champion you main instead of a fotm champ you’ve just played a few times. Especially at low to mid Elo. If you’re looking for new champs to get into it does give you an idea of how strong they are, though. But a lot of the lists comes down to play style and personal preference. Apparently at high Elo Europe has (had?) a completely different play style from Americans and champs that were worthless here were really strong there.
Anyone got any favoured streams or examples of great play on a variety of characters? I feel I could do with watching some great Trists or other carries play well.
TreeEskimo does some really nice commentary and if I was going to watch a stream it would probably be his.

I find it’s easier to go straight into the games and learn the hero the hard way, maybe thats just me though…
I completely agree with you. Your never going to learn a hero faster then playing a couple of games with them.
Nice playing with you guys again. After playing two other Cho’s I want another less common hero! I’d like to play someone that’s always doing something (so I don’t get bored) and has more health than average (because I’m still noob). Everything else is flexible. Any suggestions? Or should I just play random?

Play Leblanc, she’s tough to use but it pays off well to be good with her. She’s only 3150 IP too.

I’d also add Roku to this list. He does a lot of commentary and has a huge library of saved games. He does tend to favor champs that are considered underpowered - as an example, months ago he was playing Mundo, a few weeks back he was playing Lux, and now he’s doing a lot of Malzahar and Veigar.

Some people now thing lux is OP, because of Roku’s play. Plus, he just takes great joy in the game.
Roku and Tree are my two streamer picks to learn how to play better.
Last night’s 5v5 in draft mode was…interesting. I had actually wanted to pick someone I didn’t play (Zilean) to get more practice, but as last pick in the game, I wound up not being able to pick him.
There are a few things I dislike about playing draft mode with QT3 people - first, you know who is on the other side, so bans are picked to shut out particular players (which is unlike real ranked games…who bans Morgana anymore since she was nerfed?) Second, it’s really hard to get balanced teams, as most of us don’t have an assigned ELO in ranked, which would probably help quite a bit.
I’m not quite sure why when we were at 6/20 at 25m that people decided we had to keep playing, and wouldn’t allow a surrender so we could shuffle teams and try again. That would have been interesting to at least try. Instead, surrender was denied, and I didn’t have time for another game…but that’s probably good, because I was the #1 feeder that game.
I enjoyed the TreeEskimo teemo stream so much I’m trying that build and looking forward to watching more of his streams. I’ll try Roku as well.

Maybe try Sion, Nasus or Gragas. They all have decent HP growth and fairly active game styles.
We tend to be pretty quick at ending a match when they’re imbalanced. And if we don’t end early via surrender usually someone just outright quits forcing the match to be over. I didn’t play in the match you are mentioning so I dunno what happened there. When we did all random, not all mid later we ended pretty fast after Mx got Kennen and face rolled the rest of us.
Sorry if I was cranky last night, just started contracting again and so I was working on less sleep. I should’ve stopped playing earlier than I did as well.
Gragas! YOU MUST KEEP DRINKING!
Just remember that even though he’s AP, he’s also a tank so you’re supposed to stand in front of your team’s squishy characters and take the hits for them. Not hide behind them, THERLUN.
That game was pretty funny, actually.

How far apart were your contractions? I’m impressed with your fortitude, playing LoL while giving birth must be pretty hard. Is it a boy or a girl? =)

Gragas is better as AD, if you are in fact going for damage and not straight tanking. His drinking gives him very good damage, his headbutt scales with AD, and due to his passive you will often get buttloads of health to help with his regen. I recommend Boots + Spirit Visage + Randuins Omen + Banshee’s Veil + Frozen Mallet + Atmas.

I haven’t been impressed with Gragas after they nerfed him in that patch. But it could just be the lack of skill I have when using his ult =)
Dirty lies! You want to get Ionian Cooldown Boots, Randiun’s Omen, Rylai’s, Zhonya’s, and a Deathcap and throw barrels that do 1000 damage! Maybe a Lichbane if you like bodyslamming and headbutting people while running faster.
Either way you build Gragas cooldown boots and Randiun’s will let you keep your Drunken Haze going permanently. Just don’t build him pure tank or you’ll do nothing late game.

I pressed No to spite you and mx for the unnecessary raging. That postponed the game like what… 3 minutes?
That’s funny as shit, I was thinking the same thing.
Idrisz is the John Madden of LoL:
“Yeah look, you definitely want to do more damage than the other person. If you can control the bush, you gain the advantage of first strike. What you don’t want to do is get focused by 5 people and die.”
Yeah agreed. He tends to pick carries too. His MF commentary was very very good and helped me mid-lane with her.
What I do now is I choose a champ I’m interested in and go play a “IP 5vbot farming” game in the Practice Games section. You get some bots to fight against and plenty of time to practice your skills and build up to about level 10 or so (before you slaughter the bots and the game ends). And hell, you earn IP for it!
The person I played after Cho was Mordekaiser. He’s easy to learn and soaks up a lot of damage. Skillwise, his ultimate is cast on a ranged carry (Ashe, Sivir, Teemo), and when that carry is killed by your team (assuming your team kills them fast enough), the carry becomes a ghost with which you alt+right click to target another enemy, or use it to tank a tower in a push. But really, Morde is just a great laner due to his shield, so he’s very easy to farm with and keep control in your lane.
