Or just don’t play him. He is bad since they took out innervating locket. There is nothing about him that makes him stand out as a good character. He can be fun with his ult though.

Sion seems like a great tank, his stun is dirty. Amumu is a good tank with a stun and an AoE snare thing.

I like Nunu myself, but he’s more of an off-tank, as is Nasus. I like Galio, he’s also a bit of an off-tank, as is Blitz, and Blitz is very skill shotty with his fist grab thing, so you might like that aspect if you like Cho and his skill shots.

I think he’s still decent, he just lost his solo lane domination. He’s a great anti AoE champ with his ult. For generic pub stomping he’s not as good but like that describes half the champs in the game at least. Terrible pub stompers, but good situational picks.

Straight tank Sion is kind of a waste. Playing him as either tank AP (RoA, Zhonya, Abyssal, Deathfire Grasp) or AS/Lifesteal seem to be more useful.

I would sort of suggest mordekaiser as well, except he is no longer a great early laner, he just can’t generate enough shield to shrug off pokes until level 7 or so. He does still farm well. I am closish to finishing my video on him, so noobs might find that useful - the rest of you can flame me!

Mck: great stream, Ta. Watching his use of Trist with ghost and flash for evasion and ganks has been useful and something I should emulate. Also good were all his general points on the “style” of play you can use with Trist. L0l, if you are a good player, like yourself, then learning skills is enough. Me, I need to also see how a player moves through a lane and teamfight. Watching a good player do this teaches a lot.

It was my first time playing him and I was busy … reading his skills. Yeah, exactly.

This is only because you play AD Gragas! A tank with long range heavy damage is unique. And how can you not love spending the entire game wandering around in a drunken haze?

Malphite is another hard to kill character who’s still pretty overpowering even after they nerfed his Q. Ult into people for an AoE stun, then ground pound for AoE damage based on his armor, then start punching people with AoE melee attacks.

FEEL THE FURY

Or, Renekton’s abilities.

So like every melee dps that’s come out since Xin Renketon has the following:

An innate heal
Some sort of dash/blink
A short term attack damage boost.

Also his ult is not much different from Nasus’

The passive sounds like 2 passives mushed into one because they realized the first one sucked.

Ah I see, I tend to pick things up fairly quickly, and that’s why streams don’t interest me. It is a good way to pick things up though. What I tend to see happen too, is people pick up the streamers play-style and bad habits, and don’t have a play-style of their own.

Also, instantly locking in is pretty fun.

Thanks for the suggestions. LeBlanc looks crazy complex but quite interesting, Nasus seems more generic. I really love accumulative spells so his damage accumulator is awesome. I’ll pick both up which will hopefully give my chraacter retinue some variety.

if you’re just starting, I highly suggest picking up all the cheapies at the start, just to round out your repertoire. Sivir is low in IP cost, but still one of the better ranged DPS carries.

So fury is kind of like Mordekaisers shield in that it has to be built up, but is used more as mana or something? Sounds like he has to build himself up to get his stun off, so he could be easily shut down if he tries to go for DPS.

If I’m reading it correct, all his abilities are free but get more powerful once he hits 50 Fury. So he has a shorter duration stun that’s available whenever it’s off cooldown and a longer duration stun that’s available that costs 50 fury.

Agreed. Sivir and Ashe are not only cheap, but conceptually simple to understand, and also very squishy. The squishiness is something you have to learn as a rite of passage to this game. Your inability to survive teamfight toe-to-toe situations will teach you how to harass in a teamfight, run away and let people try to chase you so that your team can keep doing damage to them, and turning back at the right time to do damage and score the kills.

OK, I’ll pick up some squishies too. I don’t care about cost guys, I’m happy to spend $30 on characters, so don’t worry about recommending ‘cheap’ things.

Oh you’re right, I misread it as a stun only if he spent 50 fury.

Sivir and Ashe also offer skill shots (sivir has the added bonus of having a staple skill shot and a skill shield; ashe really just has the arrow, as I don’t really count volley, though learning how it works with respect to bunched up creeps is important). Learning to use them will help hone an important skill set.

Veigar also has crazy accumulation potential if that interests you. Speaking of which, it’s been forever since I’ve seen a Veigar in game.

Err, characters are free to purchase with “IP points,” which you earn from playing games (about 70 for a loss, more for a win).

You never have to spend money to play LoL. The only things that money buys you are IP bonuses and skins for your champions.

Yeah, he’s saying he has no problem spending real money to pick up a character he wants, despite there being cheaper options. In which case I’d definitely recommend both of the bundles from the store.

Save your real money for when you find some characters you like, and trick out their skins. =)

Some of the skins are pretty cool and really change the character’s looks.
