You’re the one that doesn’t know how spear works, not me.

Yea I was so confused reading Lazy’s post. It never occured to me that someone wouldn’t know how the spear worked.

“BUNNY, HAFF YOU EVER PLAYED ZIS GAME BEFORE?!?”

Looks like more people are finally discovering mejai’s and sword of the occult for IP bot farming.

Also, it’s 6 games a day. 420 free IP a day.

What is this referring to? Is this really a problem, people killing bots over and over to gain IP?

If the server lets you create practice games with just 1 person, for IP Bot farming I just take Yi mid with teleport and clarity and a long sword, put a point in Alpha strike, max Wuju style ASAP, and push mid hard. Recall around the time the second tower goes down, buy whatever attack speed item you can afford and push to victory. Once you’ve done it a couple times you should have a minute or two at the end to kill so you don’t finish before 11 minutes hits.

You’d be amazed at how many people really don’t know the mechanics of creep pushing and creep/tower aggro, or can’t figure out the ridiculously stupid AI behavior.

Yeah, but winning vs. AI doesn’t count towards the Wins total, does it, for matchmaking purposes. So the high level farmers should slowly drift back down into the minor leagues, as Runes don’t really do all that much for you compared to player skill. And like most games, playing against the AI will create bad habits.

And of course, you might not necessarily be running into Bot Farmers, but just guys who have spent RP for the IP boost. =)

Practice games do not count towards your hidden ELO. Bot farming for IP just means making a practice game and winning versus the bots, which gives you 71 IP, which is the same IP you get for losing a game, but you can do it in a little over 10 minutes instead of 25 minutes (or more) for a losing game.

I’m not sure anyone bot farms for the experience, I’m doing it for more IP. Also, it’s kinda fun.

Anyone know any good guides to ranked team composition? I’ll be starting ranked soon and want to get some ideas of how I can help balance things out. I have a few ideas, and I’m sure I can’t be far wrong, but more advice is always good.

Oh, any thoughts on the new Tryn…I mean, Renkatontotnarkonn character? The champ spotlight is out.

I’m not fucking playing with Ripplez. He complained about being in bottom with me(Xin) against cho/heimer at level 1, before we had harassing abilities, so he requested idrisz to go top. I told him he would complain at top too, and wouldn’t you know it, a good 15 seconds after he goes top the tower is gone because he couldn’t hold that either. It wouldn’t have been rocket science to stick with me, get some MR/Armor, and start forcing heimer to back up OR have our jungle fiddle come in for the gank at level 5 or 6.

And it’s every god damn game of “I can’t play this lane.” Creep kills were like 950 on their team versus like 450 on ours, some of which is because of time taken up while people solo defend a tower and get ganked while others are switching their entire positioning. It’s dumb.

I’m taking a break again, I don’t know for how long. I’ve lost 9 straight and something like 18 of my last 20. My play ability has progressively decreased and it’s getting really frustrating.

I really like playing with you guys, but my play level is just in the gutter right now.

The team with the most hard CC wins. Or the team who gets on bursty champion fed first. I played a match tonight that was:

Vlad/Kassadin/Amumu/WW/Lux vs Fiddle/Soraka/LeBlanc/Pantheon/MF

Kassadin asked for mid over Lux, died twice real fast to LeBlanc before admitting he’d never laned against her and had now idea what she could do. Lux took over 3 levels behind and fed 2 more quick deaths by playing too aggressively. LeBlanc had 9+ stacks about 15 minutes in and ended with 19 kills.

Just had a shitty game and patch time means no chance to make it better. Ultrazen and I dual-queued (usually we have great games) and we had a nidalee who never said a word, was bad, and went mid (with Ultra’s Ashe) after dying a couple of times bottom. We also had a jax who talked constant shit about everyone and raged when Ashe took red buff off him. It was so terrible.

sorry blue, it’s my fault that game, I had to switch channel because I have take a call on skype.

Sorry, replace Jax with Singed above.

If you say that, then Ripplez might get mad at you and never play the game with you again. I can’t divulge if that’s a warning or advice. Let’s just say I’ve shared your frustrations.

I’ve been playing a lot more with my friends on skype and the like (instead of mumble), as I’ve found duo queue to be less frustrating than playing 5 man games with folks who QQ to that degree. It’s one thing to play with total strangers - I can accept all sorts of attitude. But if I invite people to play the game with me, I’d hope that we’re going to try and play well, and not take that kind of attitude, as long as we’re playing a game that was arranged by matchmaking.

Actually…this is why I like ranked play (or at least not blind matchmaking.) You can see what characters are picked, and counter pick. You may think about team composition a lot - even at 1200 ELO, people are at least trying to build reasonable team comps. Blind pick is really luck of the draw on team comp (which some people on mumble don’t care about anyway, often making the game harder before we begin.)

It was total weak sauce. And if anyone should have been complaining, it was me, since I had to mid as Malph. I am ashamed to say that I never knew the trick of “hiding” from Karthuses’ mines by standing on clusters of creeps. I wasn’t always able to pull it off but when I did it really helped (early game when you asked if I was ok I basically hit like a 30 second really bad streak where Karth poked me 3 or 4 times and landed like 3 free standing mines. I went back because he was close to 6 and I didn;t want to take chances).

I actually did ok laning. I outfarmed him in the laning phase, anyway. We just couldn’t quite put it together post-laning. Plenty of blame to go around there. It’s too bad Ripplez had mailed it in because I think you hit on the correct tactic; we should have had you initiate, Ripplez ult, and then I could follow with the Malph Ult to further change the nature of the fight. It’s a great initiation move but it’s also great when you can use it after a fight starts.

As for Ripplez, yes, that’s a pretty common thing for him unfortunately. I also think you were correct regarding how laning would go after a couple of levels. While I like having tankiness and CC, I think he should have stayed with Zil based on the other team comp. Zil could have midded, but I think Ripplez switched because he doesn’t like to mid. In that game, Zil would have been great to pair with you bottom.

Patch notes: Egyptian Lizard arrives.

Wow, it’s like they nerfed the most annoying champs.

Eve: nerf!
Kennen: Nerf! (Marks last 8 seconds from 12 s)
Pantheon: Nerf stun.
Xin: Nerf crescent damage.
Trynd: 5 seconds ult from 6 seconds. How many times has he run away just in the nick of time?

Why would you stand in the creeps with karthus? You get less damage from his Q (because it also hits the minions), but it still hits you. There’s a delay between when it starts, and when it damages you - if you keep moving (and buy boots 1!), it’s easy to dodge by not standing still.

I stand away from the creeps, and if he tries to harrass me, then he’s blowing mana not farming. In return, you Q him right back - and as malphite, you can take one of his Q’s with your passive every 10 seconds, so Q him every time your passive is up. When he’s low on mana, then go and get some creeps - maybe use your AOE skill to get blobs of last hits.

I admit, it’s probably a challenging lane, but karthus has to either farm or harrass you - he has a hard time doing both.

I was trying to run away from the mine. But in my own attempt to farm it was inevitable I was going to get blasted. Being bunched with my own creeps mitigated the damage. I had to farm some. I was doing my fair share of harassing - he drove me out of lane early but I drove him out later (life is so much better once Q hits level 3 and beyond). At the end of laning I had out farmed him (he was not the most proficient laster hitter) by a little bit.
