Thanks guys for the info about lanes, especially McKnight regarding why bot is duo and and top solo. Is there any particular reason why mid is always solo? I’d think having mid duo would give more rapid response to situations throughout the map.
I was asking for general answers. I’ve got a fair handle on roles and such.
Can’t seem to get logged in, alas.

Caitlyn seems like a non-carry. McKnight was mentioning how she is more of an anti-carry. When she goes free, it will be interesting to try her – but so far she’s been pretty underwhelming as a teammate.
Holy secret nerf, Batman! Even though the patch notes say they lowered the damage max as it travels over things from 70% to 50%, ingame it is actually lowered to doing a mere 40% of its max damage and loses 15% damage per target hit. It actually does LESS damage to a creep wave now, let alone a champion that’s hiding behind three.
I am mystified as to why they would take a champion that turned out a bit sub-par and nerf her.
Mid is the solo lane because it’s the safest lane in the game. The brush and gank paths are further away from the actual lane then bot or top and you are also closer to your tower at all times.

Maybe the champion isn’t actually subpar. See also: Eve, Ezrael.

How much is the new hero? :s
The problem with Caitlyn is the same problem champs like Olaf, Ezreal and Rhyze have. If you play really well, your about as good any other champ played averagely to your team. Which isn’t exactly very satisfying.
Wow. The skill is kind of screwey. It at least hurt before (and was great for farming), but it was very easy to dodge. Now it hurts less and remains very easy to dodge. Hmmm. Also, I don’t understand the change to her ult. Why make it spell damage?
I don’t think it’s the same thing. Ez was stupidly overpowered before his nerfs and now no one likes him now that he’s sort of balanced. His Q does about the same damage as Caitlyn’s but is instant cast and has twice the range instead of going through creeps. His ult does more base damage than Caitlyn’s at all levels but hits multiple people and has a global range.
Eve had massive buffs to everything before Sorakabot “realized her potential”.
Technically it still does physical damage I guess, but counts as spell damage instead of an attack. My guess is that Riot doesn’t know how to easily change their game systems to make it so that a physical attack won’t be blocked by Pantheon’s passive and such, so they just switched it to a spell and called it a day.

My understanding was that for a while everyone thought Ez was trash, and then they suddenly realized he was hilarious.
From what I heard, when he was new he was the only skillshot based champ so no one could hit anything with his stuff and hated him. Then when they learned to aim they realized he did an idiotic amount of damage and had a built in heal and flash.
Also, this is kind of neat for anyone who hasn’t seen it already:

Brighter healthbar for your champ “mod”. (It consists of a single TGA file.)
Yes, but he’s already picked in every ranked game I’ve played, so it’s not like there’s that much more vlad than before…:)
Ez got completely reworked like eight times after he launched. He was born a support, then his heal got changed, then removed, then he was an ap carry, then finally ad.
People realized he was good some time around being an ap carry.
Recommended Vlad guide? I feel like jumping on that bandwagon. At lvl 29 the people I face/play with usually can’t seem to supress him.

R on their whole team, spam E when it’s up, press W to dip into an invulnerable cheap shit pool of blood to slow and damage their whole team, press Q to do a ton of damage while healing yourself, laugh as the enemy team takes 14% extra damage from your allies due to your R. Get 140 ip and launch a new game.

All you need to know is to max q first, put one point in pool and never, ever use it to initiate. It’s an escape or finishing move. Tower dive, kill the guy, pool, you’re golden.
In lane? Q, back away. Q, back away. Q, back away. This will take some time at first, but once you’re 7ish you can do that shit every 2.5 seconds. Basically, if the other guy isn’t a substantially better player than you are, you win.
Boots aren’t a terrible first choice, since they let you q with impunity and dictate the terms of engagement.
So, got on for a bit and played around with Heimer for a few games. The turret change to “ammo” ala Teemo is pretty nice, as you can drop 2 turrets within a second of each other if you’ve saved them up, which makes them a bit more flexible for team fights and pushes etc. I guess that was their justification for nerfing their health, but I just don’t see it. They still go down to one AOE and are instantly gone in any team fight.
The max stun/miss. build is pretty fun though. Great for mid game ganks.
