I prefer either the AP book thingy or Doran’s shield personally.

For items I go Rylai’s to Ionian boots and after that it kind of depends, if I’m struggling then either Spirit Visage or Abysall, if I’m doing pretty well then either Zhonya’s or Abadon.

Got in two vlad games where I did quite averagely against average players. Couldn’t seem to really kill anyone or lay down the damage - perhaps I wasn’t being careful about constantly hitting Q. Also, facing Heimer in mid = annoying. Couldn’t work out a way to kill him and couldn’t even push the lane back without seeming to not get good last hits. Grr.

Also got out-laned in bit with chequers as Nas and vs cho and Cait. Annoying. I guess practice is required and trying to learn more about how to “be” in the fight. Oh, I got focused down a fair few times too. :/

Doesn’t seem that great to me to be honest, maybe that’s just me and my hatred for melee DPS. :/

I’ve won alot of games today, quite handily. And the common factor between all those wins was none of us were playing the new champion.

I think he’s got a great skill set but with bad numbers. They also nerfed him post quicklook, which seems like a mistake. Riot seems so paranoid about releasing OP champs that they keep releasing UP champs. Unlike Caitlin I think his actual skills are fine, just that the scaling is terrible.

She was bad for awhile and got buffed up some. I haven’t really played her outside of ARAM (where she’s awesome) but I’ve seen her perform reasonably well. Skill wise she’s a lot like Morgana.

What about her gave you problems? Her Q should be avoidable if you stay behind minions. And her E shouldn’t really be a hassle on Vlad early game.

Here’s a shocker to many: Vlad is actually pretty weak early. If you’re a decent solo (e.g. Malph, Annie, Sivir, etc.) and start harassing him immediately at level 1 and keep the pressure on, you can force him to pool, flash, etc. and win the lane before he turns into a scary monster mid-late game.

I would tend to agree, as Ashe Vlad is not one of the champs that particularly worries me mid. Now kennen…ho hum :)

I let her hit me with her Q too much and her E seemed like it had a longer range and bigger area than I remember. I could never get in to harass her. My next game I dominated Corki so I don’t think it’s all me.

Idrisz and I laned as Malz/Cho versus a Renekton/Cait duo.

They kept the pressure up very early, but couldn’t get a proper gank off without Idrisz letting himself get out of position. At about level 5, after I died due to a Anivia gank, I got myself a doran’s shield and boots to go with my ring, and rank 2 rupture, it was much easier to deal with them, and by the end of the laning phase we were pushing them back and got some kills off. Renekton seems like he needs to be played aggressively, but the player was putting himself out of position trying to pull slick barrel roll moves back and forth to kill creeps. He can’t harass well without exposing himself to the ranged laner.

Late game he didn’t seem all that powerful, but I can see the usefulness of his guerrilla tactics, building up rage until he can get a stun off on a carry and maybe us his Ult+lifestyle for some staying power on that carry. I wouldn’t say Renekton lost them the game though, that distinction goes to their shit Blitz whose last item after Manamune was, no lie, a Sword of the Occult.

yeah I didn’t know Renekton can do 2 dash, which their renekton used a bunch, but once he does 2 dash, he is pretty much dead, because I drop silence/pool/dot and ult just owns him.

there was some pretty awesome one vs one fight between me and their Cait, one where she got me to like 200 health, and tries to finish me off with her ult, I turn around and owned her with my ult before her ult finish channeling.

they were winning in tower, but then we were winning somewhat in team fights, there was a couple fights where we dominated them in the river.
