Yeap. What won that round was that we did to them what usually happens to us, which is that we quickly took opportunities to gank their unsupported champs that were farming.

On last hitting.

“Give me one good reason why we’d let the enemies push? The point of the game is to kill creeps.”

Why did Kog run away after he died?

“I haven’t played Kog in like a month.”

Welcome to ELO Hell.

The point of the game is to kill creeps? That’s new. Usually its the opposite, where they are so intent on getting ganks they don’t push towers or take Dragon.

OK, this is dumb. You’re not allowed to make a single player game against bots anymore? Thumbs down. All they had to do was disable IP rewards for single player games. Would that have been so hard? :(

You can’t? I just played against bots like 5 hours ago to try a jungling build.

edit: oh wow you are right, needs minimum 2 players to play custom games now.

They do that a lot right after a patch. It will be back.

Oh good. I thought I might have to play with actual people!

This is amazing.

I’ve had three games in a row with nice people. I’ve heard “Yes, sir.” “howdy” There was even a lot of very friendly ribbing and congratulating of the opposing team.

There is a serious disturbance in the force.

I think I need to seriously work on last hitting. Must practice, I guess? No other tricks?

What?

I don’t know. I press S to stop shooting and hide.

I don’t like laning with the croc, he keeps that lane way too pushed.

Sorry Pogo, being tired and random. I mean I have a hard time last hitting while also keeping my lane from being pushed back to the tower. Some enemies seem to farm faster while also still last hitting. End result is a hard time by me of getting last hits because I am at my tower and they seem to farm fine. Found that with both Vlad and Trist which makes me think I have stuff to learn, just not quite sure what.

Clearing creep waves quickly is obviously easier with some champs (e.g. Morgana, Sivir, Sion, etc.) but learning how to last hit with your autoattack is one of the most important skills in the game. If you can learn how to get majority of the creep kills using only your auto-attack (including when they’re under fire at your turret), you’ll find yourself surpassing your opposition.

Tips:

  • Stay in constant motion, pace back and forth behind your creeps and only click on a creep when a single auto-attack will kill it.

  • Pay close attention to your champ’s animation, each champ has a specific auto-attack animation and timing.

  • Try to save your mana/abilities to be used on enemy champs, not creeps. You’ll not only preserve mana/energy but you’ll be able to control your lane (if the enemy pushes to your turret, they’re a prime candidate for a gank.)

Watching animations to get the timing right might make a good difference - Ta for the idea.

Eventually you just kinda get used to the animation quickly with any champ.

So far I think Soraka has been the most annoying.

The general strategy for dealing with people that push that hard, is to call for ganks, or it least it seems so watching the high elo play videos. There is a reason that it’s good to be fairly close to your turret and not push your lane, but if there is no team coordination for a gank, then over pushing a lane is actually great as the other player loses a ton of last hits to their own turret.

If people aren’t made to pay for overextending, they’ll probably win the lane with aggressive play.

Yeah - players weren’t free to gank, unfortunately. I will push harder for ganks next time!

If I’m jungling I always look for lanes that are pushed too far to gank. If there aren’t any junglers, ganking is harder but not impossible.

Idris, Pogo, sorry for playing like arse tonight. Ultrazen and I came out of a terrible 2 games and I think we both needed a break. In the first game their team was bad, but ours was worse and the second game was about the same.

Going into a tough 5v5 frustrated probably isn’t a good idea.

Also, I’ve noticed that since I’ve been in the high 20s (and now, ding, 30, hurrah?) we are pulling pretty good opponent teams and I’m not really experienced enough yet compared to the sort of teams we face. For that reason I’ll probably abandon playing 5s with Qt3 people (unless they are prepared for suckage) as everyone gets frustrated.

I’ve been having some ISP problems and crashed out of that last game we played. Dunno what’s up with with my isp etc, always been rock solid, and the last week has been really sporadic and annoying. Perhaps it’s sensing my suckitude through the force?

I’ll try and log back in and catch a game if I can, just got back on.
