Also, how does another carry get any kind of farm laning with kat, morde, or nidalee (who went hybrid so we actually did have a little ad)? That’s why I initially went support.

Kassadin, Akali, Poppy, Jax and certain builds for some other characters are assassins. Maybe Malz and a couple of others (Irelia?). Kat’s a straight-up late game caster carry.
Since I started playing Kat’s been one of the hardest snowballers in the game. Thing is, if she has a mediocre or bad early game she almost never gets off the ground. A decently-played Kat will cause havoc late game because Death Lotus/Voracious Killer (is that correct?) is a ridiculous combination. Unless the Kat’s really good at timing and using confusion in team-fights, she won’t be any good. She’s the Tryndamere of casters, if what I remember is still true for Trynd.
Conversely, Anivia’s the best AP carry because she does disgusting AoE damage and has great CC. Ryze works well over here because he can kill a carry in one cycle if he stands close enough (multiple Spell Flux AoE procs). I watched Hotshot doing his usual “Whinewhinewhine” after being killed by Ryze that way once. Karthus I have mixed feelings about. One the one hand, probably the highest sustained damage of any caster and stacking Archangel’s is fun. On the other, he needs to stand still to be effective in team-fights and is really squishy. Annie’s not really a carry, she’s an initiator/mid-game AP support. Vlad’s broken conceptually so I don’t care about him. Veigar- mmm. I think he’s more of a late-game Annie than a carry because his damage is mostly single-target and good AP carries need to be AoE.
Secondly, teams without good CC do not exist. That’s why Kat is such a rare pick-up. If she gets interrupted she’s buggered, and no teams will have a make-up that can’t interrupt her. Nunu gets away with it because his spell does partial period damage and he’s a great support caster/jungler.
This is why carries should always solo, so they don’t have to compete for minion gold and can get an edge in exp. If your team has two champs in the top lane against only one opponent, your team is immediately at a large disadvantage if the solo knows what they’re doing. If you don’t win the lane, the enemy solo will out-pace everyone and is likely to end up dominating.

sorry but I feel malz > anivia especially in late game, simply due to malz’s W does % of max health instead just damage which makes him extremely deadly, also his aoe silence does massive damage as well silence for a looong time, his silence bypass banshee, because it actually hit twice, the tooltip on his Q is somewhat deceptive, it said it does x amount of damage, but it doesn’t mention the spell hits twice!!!
basically his Q is an aoe silence with 2.0 AP ratio.
anivia have burst, but once you can survive his burst it’s pretty much GG For anivia.
So played a bit as Caitlyn today and she is definitely improved. They still need to tweak her traps though.
Also been playing a lot of Renekton, and they definitely need to buff his lifesteal skill. The weird problem I’m having with him is I have some pretty good games with him, like I just went 11/6/11 and lots of tower kills, and then other times I do terribly, but I’m having a hard time identifying why I’m doing well or poorly with him.

The game we played last night (or was it the night before that?), the opposing team actually had a Caitlynn who used the traps alot, mostly to try to put them right on top of someone who was standing still, or into common bushes.
They are still lame compared to Teemo mushrooms though.
Yeah but that’s Teemo’s ult so you have to make them special, don’t see people whining about Nidalee’s trap sucking.

well nidalee trap doesn’t give you vision, cait’s trap give vision into bush without actually anyone hitting it.
Even more reason to whine about nidalee’s trap then!

just browsing malzahar’s skills on leaguecraft, I realized his ult icon looks like a purple penis ejaculating…
could be just me though.

Cait’s traps only give vision if an opponent triggers it, otherwise it doesn’t show anything.
No one complains about Nidalee’s traps as she essentially has six abilities, while Cait has three, and none of them scale all that well.

It took you this long to notice that?

aah you are wrong, cait’s trap actually give vision into bush without friendly in the bush. nidalee’s trap only give vision if someone steps on it, but you can be in a bush with nidalee’s trap next to you, and nidalee wouldn’t be able to see you until you step it her trap.
It took you this long to notice that?
I should type “I came all over your face whenever I kill someone with my ult”.
I’m pretty sure you’re wrong and Caits does not give vision. Nid can also have more than 2 I’m pretty sure.

I think everyone should just start a practice game and go sidelane, place a trap into the bush and come back tell me how wrong I’m.
but I’m just gonna said L2P right now.
Bots don’t hide in bushes.
Anyhow, I swear when I was playing normal games today it was not giving me vision until they stepped on it, and I had a Zilean hiding in the damn brush all laning phase.

Both traps give a small amount of vision for like half a second when placed, then after that they actually have to trigger the traps for you to gain vision (of them, not the bush…).

I’m gonna go do an IP farm with Caitlyn so I can tell idrisz how wrong he is.
Also, I used to think idrisz was too stupid/lazy to use proper grammar. Now I realize that he types exactly the same way he talks.

I just tested this with the AI, placed a trap in the bushes, shot him while i was in the pushes to lure him into it, I step out of bushes and I cannot see him until he steps on the trap.
Just lost a ranked game 5v4. How is that even possible? We had Trist (me), Malz, Lux, and Panth (and Shen). Somehow everyone wanted to go mid (I picked Trist 2nd which didn’t seem awful at the time). Panth runs there first, feeds a couple times, abandons it and starts ganking top, where he does okay. Shen and I are doing pretty well against Kassadin at bottom and Lux is competent, but Malz finishes 1/10/6, Shen goes 1/7/3, and Panth goes 5/12/4. I was 4/1 for a while, but finished 4/4/4 after Kassadin got full stacks on his Mejals and could basically one shot me. Pantheon rage quits after completely failing to steal Baron with his ult. Malz whines that he should have gotten mid after finishing with 10 deaths. Um, not so much.
I guess I could have taken mid after Panth abandoned it, but then Shen would have been left bottom by himself and nobody was in a hurry to cover for him. Not sure what you do when a horrible player with a mediocre mid character rushes for it.
