They’re nerfing HP & HP/Regen related quints/masteries. They’re also nerfing dorans items so you can’t start with a potion.

Eh, 1 potion is nice but not a requirement. It might make people tone down harassment play, though.

I didn’t realize hp regen quints were all that powerful.

I can definitely agree about mana regen. Having mana regen/5 runes with the mastery completely changes how aggressive you can be in laning harassment. I think they should buff base regeneration for players that don’t have runes/masteries, and slightly nerf the runes/masteries to keep level 30 regeneration where it is now.

That’s not a bad idea. I run blue/yellow mp/5 + enough in util to get the additional 5/mp5 there on a number of champions. The mana is great, but I am definately giving stuff up to do it. The trade off is nice as is, IMO.

For many champions with mana, having that mana in lane is one more ability to use to either escape, gank, harass, or farm. It’s very much worth giving up some of the more pitiful masteries, like most of the offensive tree.

Seems to me they’re going to shift the metagame even more heavily to beefy dps like Xin, Mundo, Olaf or even Irelia. Self heals will be more important, and they bring the self-heals.

Played a couple of games as corki last night and tried the cloth armor start. It is quite a strong one, it seems - and I might try it with trist too. Being able to buy two health and mana pots keeps you in lane a long time and the armor helps shrug off pokes from Ashe etc.

The usual suggestion is to turn it into Wriggles, but I am inclined to stop at the razors and instead work on the BF sword. As it was I outfarmed everyone on my team (in a side lane) and in the second game I was only rivalled by the other mid and I am not sure delaying the BF sword to get Wriggles is entirely worth it.

The armor and then the magic resist from merc treads and blue MR/lvl really made a survivability difference in skirmishes with other dps types.

Early on the mana pots really help the farming - by level 6 you are Q and then R and waves die with time to go pick up the wraiths. Handy.

At least for the heroes I play, you will never convince me to get scaling mana regen runes. Flat all the way! By the time scaling matters, my heroes have blue buff or tear :P

As Corki - how do you deal with Kat? Jeez, faced her mid and did fine until she got her ulti and then I had to keep 100ft away or face flying doom. Can’t even get the Q off fast enough to stop her wailing on you before your’e dead. Very annoying. Her and Akali with Urgot, Kog and Garen were on their team and ate our team of Temo, Blitz, LeB, Shen, and me as Corki. I did ok, but it was a bit sad.

They even out by lvl 5 Copet. You shouldn’t be spamming your skills before lvl 3. I can’t see any possible reason why you need the tiniest amount of extra regen between 3 and 5. Scaling is always better.

Valkyrie > Kat Ulti. You should never get hit by more then 2 ticks of it. Other then that, if Kat ever uses Shunpo offensively punish her. Q, E, auto-attack and really hurt her while she tries to walk away from you. This is especially true before she hits 6.

In the early 5v5 last night, Ripplez was already a little shakey in team selection. Given where we were in terms of who had been picked I wasn’t sure about his selection of Shen. Don’t get me wrong; Shen is a great champ but we already had two tanky characters (z as LolMorde and me as Blitz) and we didn’t have a carry yet (though Angel was thinking about taking Ashe and has either said so or already selected her, I forget). Ripplez kept insisting “no other champion fits”, which made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

He stayed focused in game though, which I was grateful for. It’s a dice roll on that front. One bad thing - just one death, or an inability to farm well for a few minutes - can cause him to mail it in.

Or, ripz will lane with you until level 3 or 4, then leave the lane to go jungle, leaving you in a 1v2 against two people of the same level as you, with you under farmed and under experienced, and consequently zoned out of all XP/gold for the rest of the laning phase.

These sorts of things increase my enjoyment of the game, to the point where I don’t even log into mumble, but just play with people who happen to have my other contact info (skype, steam, etc), because it’s so much fun that I can’t do too much of it.

I’d probably play with you QT3 folks more if you organized differently. I’m just not the type of guy that is going to log into voice chat and hang around to see what is up. I end up playing with some folks from another forum that I don’t even visit (there’s a few crossover members on this one) simply because they have an in-game channel they use, and then I jump into voice chat once a game gets started.

Sometimes people get into chat and wait around and games start that way. Often, people will hop into chat even when they are solo queuing as a way to signal they’ll be up for another game.

On the EU server, people tend to hang around in the “waiting for a game” channel. On the US, people often start steam announcements and the like.

I’d also play more Qt3 if I knew how you all got together for games. Until then, I hang out in the same chat channel as Forge (TheWanderers), play custom games for IP and wait for a critical mass of people to arrive for arranged teams. Every now and then Z will msg me that you all need a fifth, and those have been my only Qt3 games in the last several months.
