I used to be the one organizing more Qt3 people for games through steam and in game chat but since I haven’t been playing late night that much anymore the usual lads tend to simply from a 5man together rather then branch out :(
Riot just sent me a code for a free Panth and Perseus skin, hooray for being bad and frustrated!
I played a few practice games though and used my points to pick up a few of the lower point champs (Nunu, Ashe and Sivir I think). So the come back and play some more offer seems to have worked.

I was playing as Pantheon with Chiffy’s friend Marlak who was playing as Sion.
Ripplez was Kassadin and another one of Chiffy’s friends was Kog’ Maw.
Marl and I kept standing in the bushes, letting Ripplez and Kog poke out then jump stun, HSS, and Sion stun/explosion harassing. Kog starts trying to play it safe, using his range to farm and occasionally poke us back. Apparently this pisses off Ripplez who wants Kog to play more aggressive. So Ripplez goes off and takes mid and refuses to leave, thus gimping Chiffy’s experience and gold.
Now I can see that maybe a few levels sooner if Kog and Kass had been playing aggressively they probably would’ve got a kill on me. But after awhile Marl and I had them pretty locked down and we had more gold and items so we were doing plenty of burst damage, plus had the double stun, so given how squishy they were playing it safe made a lot more sense.
It would’ve been one thing if Ripplez had pulled her “I’m gonna go jungle because I have the least CS and am a terrible laning partner” schtick, but she decided to intentionally sabotage Chiffy and the rest of her team, which sucks. Especially since it was shaping up to be a pretty close game.

Ripz gets emo and depressed if he gets denied some farm for a couple of levels. Ironically he was Shen when he pulled that shit with me. Shen is fine at harassment after a couple levels, when he can shield himself from incoming damage, escape with the taunt slide, and he can exploit his Q better.
Not worth quoting as so many different views, but just because you are in mumble doesn’t mean you have to team any different from steam/msn or whatever variant. I will tend to use mumble to indicate I will be playing that night and then organise the team around who is around, who I want to play with etc.
Mumble guys will generally get the first invite because they’re in and generally looking for a game that evening. Steam just indicates you’re online.

sometimes, people will jump in the channel and make funny murloc voices until a game is started!!!

that can easily defeated by putting a ward in top bush, I solo top lane vs blitz and xin and only died once at very early level(pre-ward), but once the ward is down, it’s very hard for other side to stay in the bush since they will have to tank the creep if they want to stay close enough for jump + stun.
Is it me, or does Ripplez gender change depending who is talking about him/her? As someone who has never played with this person it comes off as kind of weird.
I’ve only played a few normal games so far so I still mostly have no idea what’s going on. I played a few games as Taric the other day because I figured he’s kinda sturdy and I could tag along and try to help people out. But I got bored of that and decided to play a game as Tristana. I ended up in a lane against Pantheon and this guy made it his mission to ruin my night. He kept doing the jumpy thing and then the stabby spear thing and then he’d run away. I’d get a shot or two off but he didn’t seem to mind. Who wants to give me some noobie tips about dealing with that jerkbag?
Ripplez doesn’t use a mic so it’s always been up for debate. Recently people are swinging more towards the point of view that she is infact a she :)
There is a Qt3 game text chat channel you are all welcome to join. I am the only one in it, mind, but if you don’t want to log in to mumble every time but do want to see/ask if people are waiting for games, that might be an option.
Mck - I was doing as you say, Q, then E, and we traded equal damage until, maybe 6? Then there was some stun or silence component to Kat’s attack that prevented me fleeing. I don’t know her well enough to be more specific, sorry.

Yeah Ripplez and um I think Lazy? Someone in the previous game denied me hardcore when I was playing Vlad. And while I likely grumbled about it, I didn’t go out and intentionally sabotage my team after.
I always assumed Ripplez was just a teenager, not a woman. It was only because you were so insistent that Ripplez is a she that I switched. In general I always assume everyone on the internet is a man.

Hah, it was prevailing theory for a while that someone else was a girl, back when we were playing L4D like crazy, and they wouldn’t use a mic. Someone finally ended up just buying them a Mic as a Xmas gift. I think that might have been Lazy, but I can’t recall clearly.

It was Lazy, though there was no serious debate on his gender. After he got a mic, everyone rejoiced.
Panth is hard to harass. His passive gives him a free block of an attack fairly frequently. You cannot harass him alone as Trist except for staying out of range.
Honestly the MOST important part of laning is to last hit creeps. The whole game depends on it. The players are just an obstacle to last hitting creeps and making money.
Ripp has got a mic which makes it all the more irritating. Played some music down it a few months ago as far as I can recall.
Yeah, I was probably trying to be too aggressive too early. Her range increases as she levels up, so I probably should have tried to play it ultra safe in the early part of the game instead of trying to shoot at him between last hits. Next time I’ll try and stay on the opposite side of the minions to make it harder for him to get at me and at least cause him to take a few hits if he does jump in.

Kat has no hard CC because she would be completely broken if she did. If she could lock an opponent down her ult would be about nerfed to be at best half as effective as it is. She needs to be CC vulnerable and her ult needs to be a gambit for her to be balanced.
She is balanced because she snowballs harder than any other caster. She’s one of the hardest snowballers in the game- the caster Jax, if you will. Most of that lies in Voracity synergising far too well with Death Lotus. She’s just difficult to get off the ground and moderately easy to shut down (unlike Jax, who’s just really easy to shut down). A late game Kat, or a Kat who ganks well, is difficult to stop even if you can CC her (most Kats come in late for that reason). The trick lies in not letting her get there- my rule of thumb is that if Kat hasn’t got more than one kill by the ten minute mark, she’s probably not going to be up to much even if she’s farming fairly well.
She has a soft CC (a healing reduction) that’s neither here nor there any more.
The point is she has a mic and just refuses to use it. Because she apparently doesn’t like “people knowing too much about them”. Keep in mind this is a person we have played with pretty much everyday since July and combined with other things has us leaning down the path that she must be a woman.
Ironically, people would actually not give a shit either way. It’s the lack of a mic (and this constant spamming of chat/text to speech) that has people the most annoyed :)

Oh, no I agree, the text to speech spam is super annoying, and its really hard to tell context when its just text, so you never know how serious or pissed off or sarcastic someone is being. And its so much easier to play with someone who can talk, as that was the problem with L4D and Lazy, its very easy to miss a text message when in the middle of a hectic game.
That’s really annoying that they have a mic and refuse to use it, especially with how much we’ve complained to them in the past about it.
Kir - you have me worried I was facing Akali and not Kat (pretty sure it was Kat - purple hair etc), but damn, I could have sworn I got owned a couple of times while also being unable to escape - perhaps I got too OOM or some other dumb thing, panicked, and didn’t notice.

Well, with blitz it lets me do more pulls early in the game. Early I play quite aggressive with blitz. With heimer it lets me place as many turrets as I need to and still have enough mana to kill blue buff when I hit 6, which is usually my plan. With nidalee it gives me more heals to harass with, and then at 6 I don’t need mana 'cause I got cougar form and likely sheen the next time I go back.
