The bounces are physical attacks. Your armour penetration and the armour of your target do matter, otherwise Ricochet would be broken beyond belief. Armour penetration is the only “item effect” that carries over to each bounce- the damage you do is your base damage multiplied by the reduction for the number of bounces. This damage then has resistances applied as normal, with penetration applied presumably at the same time. Like all on-hit effects, Ricochet cannot be dodged. Except Deceive, which just got fixed.
The Warmog’s/Atma’s build is one Phreak trialled publicly ages ago because Sivir has major survivability issues. I don’t believe it went anywhere.

Sorry, I was agreeing with you, WarMogs does very little for Sivir, she shouldn’t really need the health. I was stressing that she needs more damage, which that ‘pro’ build you listed didn’t have.

I’m looking through some theorycrafting apparently kirian is correct, and armor pen does affect the ricochet, I believe there was an old post on league of legend forum dealing regarding with ricochet, either they changed it or that post must be wrong.
here is some recent test on ricochet.

Indeed. I mean, the guy didn’t get Atmas until well after the 30th minute for sure, which means his damage was no greater than the mid 140s (that’s with a healthy amount of manamune procing) for a lengthy stretch. Manamune damage will last you for awhile (manamune + level 4 Q hurts like hell at that point), but it won’t last you 20-30 minutes.
Kirian is like the king of theorycrafting, if their is something you don’t know or want to find out about he’s the man to ask. It’s gotten to the stage where I don’t even question him anymore…
Now whether we can trust him with that kind of power is a different thing ;)

Yup. Patches have been on Tuesdays for some time now. Usually you can tell Monday night when they’re about to start patching because the servers start acting weird.
Not sure what time zone you are in but after about 7PST is when it tends to be “safer” to play on patch days. Riot was on a good stretch for a few months where patches didn’t completely kill the day but the last few have been sketchy.
I usually play at about 10 PST, but yesterday’s patch just took forever to download and the one before that knocked out the servers until midnight PST. Before that it didn’t seem to be a problem.

I think my new main for ranked is going to be Nidalee. She is so powerful in laning, and with XP masteries you get the cougar form so fast and can farm like a mother and gank. Also, screw rageblade! Lichbane -> Rylai’s -> Abyssal. With that, you are actually quite tanky and it’s very difficult to die with 600 damage heals every few seconds.

Guinsoo shaved due to internet pressure. Good.
You’re finally jumping on the obviously overpowered Nidalee bandwagon?

I have no idea what that is supposed to mean.
Was he the one with the freaky neck beard/side burns in the patch video? My daughter saw me watching that and all she could do was comment on how much of a freak he was. And I really couldn’t disagree.

I deny any and all allegations McKnight might make.

With everyone playing this and now that I have some free time I’ve been thinking about trying out LoL. As someone who wasn’t that good at DemiGod what are some things I should learn to prevent me from being cursed out of a game.
There’s a lot of good guides out there, but some basic rules to remember:
- Not dying is much much much more important than getting kills
- Towers will automatically target you if you hit an enemy champion while in range. Otherwise they’ll default to attacking minions in range first. Once a tower picks a target, it stays on it until it’s dead or moves out of range (unless you attack a champ to immediately pull its aggro)
- Use wards from the shop to keep an eye on the paths near you that enemies can gank you from
- When in doubt, stay near your towers and/or heal.
Also, if you think they might be in a bush, don’t find out by going in the bush.

The biggest problem I had as a beginner was map awareness. I think this just takes time and experience to develop. I still lose focus at times but it’s getting better.
Think of the minimap as your rear view mirror, check it often. Just like a good driver has situational awareness, a good LOL player must have map awareness.
Wha…?
Actually, that’s how I feel perusing this thread. You guys write something and I’m all, 'Wha…?"
But, yeah, wards from the shop? As a dude who gets ganked a lot when I’m minding my own business killing dudes (I believe you people call it “laning”), I’d love to know more about how not to get ganked.

Just jump into normal games and you’ll be fine. I was delighted to discover that you’re pitted against similarly new people when you first start playing. I assumed I was going to be thrown into the deep end of the pool when I started playing this week, and instead, I found people who don’t know any better than to stand in front of a tower punching it until it kills them.

oh god, tom is playing it now…
2 wards from the shop, 75g one and 125g one, both last the same duration, but 75g only show you normal non-stealthed champion/items and 125g one will show you both normal and stealth champion/item, so if you know enemy drop a 75g ward at a location, you can buy a 125g one and drop it at same location and then destroy their ward.
Always purchase ward when you go back to buy, it’s almost always worth it.
Also buying ward make you look PRO!!!
Knowledge about enemy champion’s skills help tremendously in games on top of map awareness.
