Would you guys mind looking at my recent match with Yi and see how well I did picking out items?

I was trying to go for that Yi that kicked our asses in that game last night

the trick to playing Yi is always go in last and get out first!!! Item-wise, standard dps carry, brutalizer first then big AD item follows, build banshee is great for survivability.

P.S.

and kill tower whenever other team aren’t looking.

Oh and he mentions “stacking” Sunfire Capes. That item used to stack on itself, but it has since been changed to “Unique Passive” so that only one cape does damage.

But that’s not what you were responding to, McKnight. Phydeaux told a simple anecdote about a player who said he was frustrated, and was encouraged to leave the game because he sucked. Furthermore, Phydeaux was telling you this as an explanation for why he no longer wants to play League of Legends.

Your response was to be supportive of the guy who said GTFO. Here’s the post:

How was the first guy being intentionally disruptive? How was he ruining four other people’s experience? How is it that your first reaction is to quickly make the assumptions you need to rally behind Mr. GTFO?

I’m sure you’re a great bunch of folks to play with people you know, but if you and Anti-Bunny think Mr. GTFO was in the right, you’re exactly the sorts of guys who makes online gaming what it is.

Some of us throw around a lot of “STOP FEEDING, NOOB”, usually right after they succeed in getting a quad kill then dying. I mean, if you’re going to get a quad kill, don’t feed all that gold to the enemy, you jerk!

And League of Legends requires more of a time investment than other RTSs. It seems like the DOTA model is built around half-hour to hour-long matches. It’s arguably a weakness that one dipwad can drag down nine man-hours of playing time.

As for the Mumble thing, I’m really behind the times. I’ll be meeting some friends to play LOL tonight and we’re just going to be hooking up over Skype, for Pete’s sake. Besides, I thought you people used Vent?

Vent has almost a second of lag, if not more. Mumble (and also Skype) are low latency, to the point where the person might aswell just be beside you and are therefore way better then Vent for this sort of thing. You can also do some really nifty things with ACL scripts and stuff in the client, it’s awesome. I have yet to see one person recommend Vent over Mumble after using it. Plus it’s open source which is always a good thing :)

It also doesn’t have that annoying ring tone thing and you don’t have to call everyone or make a special account to use it.

Anti-bunny, can you make the Mumble server more public and accessible? Us Minecraft players would like to use it too. Were you having serious problems with people hopping on and being annoying, or is all this protection a proactive decision?

Yes, Corki can farm like a mofo, and I do with him, I just have trouble killing people fast enough before they have either run away or the team fight is over. I just don’t know what I am doing wrong-ish. Perhaps I need a bit more attack speed and crits? My AD late-game is certainly quite high. You can see this from my played history I am sure.

I do like corki a lot, so perhaps I just need to keep playing. And I do love his ultimate, but my big ones will knock maybe 20% to max 25% health off a bad guy carry. Never more. Sure, that’s nice, but I am not wtfpwning, even when fed. Hmmmmmm!

I use standard DPS Runes on Corki although I switched out my HP Quints for armor pen 1’s for the early game trollin’. I wouldn’t recommend it though. It can bit you on the ass.

What’s your general item build?

Mine tends to be, start with shield. Rush IE (get merc treads first tho), if i’ve got a few early kills i’ll grab a dorans before I finish IE. Once IE is finished Grab Hextech Gunblade. It’s ridiculous on any ranged hero imo. It’ll help you keep on a target while also adding some nice stats aswell as a heafty lifesteal sum. Now pick up a defensive item, of your choice ofc. I usually go Banshee’s or QSS (OP item if you ask me).

I also run Flash & Ghost, cheeky bastards aint killing me!

When it’s team-fight phase, wait on the tank to mix it up, and just W on to their squishy, spam E so it sprays the second you land and AA that fucker to death. Try and Q the carry if you can. The blind on his Q is small but it saves lives.

Protip: When you hit Level 6 and you’re maxing Q first, you can kill the ranged creeps in Q and 1 missile, Corki farms pretty fast and he can get out of hand quickly.

Thanks, l0l, I will have to check out your runes on your profile as I am not sure what constitutes a standard DPS set! I have been running Armor Pen, a bit of speed (hate missing two close last hits due to low attack speed) and some MR or mana regen.

Items have been manamune, sheen, BT, boots of flavor, then work on another BF item.

I have enjoyed manamune as corki’s skills are spamable and spamming them is good. Perhaps that is a flaw and I should pick up blue more often.

Ok, got through a game using l0l’s styles and it went ok - perhaps better really! I took health quints, arpen reds and m/regen yellows and blues (and needed them).

I got my merc treads, IE, Hextech Gunblade, Banshee’s and then started working on something else when the game ended. Completely forgot about Sheen, and although I was a bit lower on mana overall than I would prefer, I did just fine - even forgot about pickingup blue.

I got more kills than normal and felt like was hitting for more - probably due to having greater dps in the early/mid game.

Doran’s shield was great - I forgot how noticable the regen is when you are a low health character. Le Blanc was toughish to face, but I was cautious until 6 and then made her B twice.
