Well considering he got a buff a few patches ago?

The game when it was in Beta was a significantly different kettle of fish then it is now. Hell even in the past month the game has changed substantially with doran and ward changes, numerous character tweaks, etc.

Question for you LoL lovers: How strongly has Darkspore lifted heroes/skills from LoL?

I saw in some introducing the devs post of theirs, half of their dev team listed LoL as one of their most frequently played games. (To my chagrin, zero listed HoN.)

A lot of the skills are identical, but the Lol skills are not exactly unique. eg, Chain Lightning and Ensnare are pretty old ideas.

I’m sure there will be some heroes with identical or near-identical skillsets too. There are a few in LoL that seem unchanged from DotA.

Wait, what buff was that? You’re not talking about the five hundredths of a second reduction on rupture’s delay, are you?

Damn right ;)

I understand the game has changed, and I was there for the ward changes, but Cho just doesn’t ever come up as someone who has changed much at all with the game. People always seem to bring up some old favorites that have been nerfed, including Xin, Lux, Ezreal, and Morgana, and several others.

Which is why I was saying that hearing that Cho not making a difference to a team (out of all the tanks in the game) was suspect, because the game may have changed a bit around Cho but not in a way that reduces his viability.

He’s not one of the top tiers in solo queue for no reason, after all. I realize that is arguable since I’m thinking of Elementz’ tier list and it’s subjective opinion, but I do think he’s one of those champs that can and will change a game.

Yea Cho was never “OP” or anything, he has been left pretty much alone with just some tiny little tweaks here and there. Some other characters however (like Ezreal and Jax famously) have been fundamentally changed since their first iterations.

I definitely agree that Cho can take over games, and literally become un-killable.

So is the backstory about Jax deciding to fight with a lamppost actually true, in real world patches?! That’s excellent! :)

Call off the manhunt, Maxle is not dead.

Q got a slight buff, W got a slight nerf, E became a toggle and now procs things like Rylai’s and R stacks don’t all disappear on death.

Those are the Cho specific changes I can think of since season 1 began.

Why is E a toggle anyway? It doesn’t use mana.

So you can punch towers without the spikes hitting a champ next to it and drawing the wrath of the tower.

What a subtle point. :-)

Also because early game you don’t want to be pushing your lane by doing constant AOE damage.

I would love to win a game this week!

Is Darkspor a DotA clone? I hadn’t really been following it, I thought it was more of a Diablo clone.

Seems Amazon.ca is selling LoL for $10 CDN. Picked it up, because at that price why not, and because none of my local stores have it. My bestbuy doesn’t even know about the LoL Riot Point cards that are advertised in the LoL store as being sold at Besty Buy.

I don’t know what the exchange rates are these days but that strikes me as an incredibly good deal. You get ~$10 (US) worth of Riot points included with the bundle on top of everything else after all :)

Ranked Games:

I just started my foray into random ranked games, and I quickly realize that they are just like unranked games . . . full of some pro players and the folks who frustrate them.

(Had a Blitzcrank and Mundo feeding the other team last night, while apologizing for being stoned and playing)

Anyways, the primary change to my Heimerdinger playstyle is the addition of lots and lots of sight wards for the oh so frequent gank attempts.

I’m surprised to be 6/6 so far in ranked games and ranked 1197 - any insight into the ranking system - what’s good, what’s bad? How many games does it take to settle into your ‘real’ ranking?

Looks like the patch this week is delayed a bit.
