Depends on the team you are facing. For the typical team full of tanky dps, I go malady, mini bloodrazor, fiendish tome, full bloodrazor, nashor’s, banshee’s, frozen heart (games rarely get to this point) and rely on move quick and summoners (flash ghost) for survivability.
Against a team full of squishies, I’ll actually go dps/lifesteal (and McKnight can shoot me, even though this is the build i used in a nice win with him yesterday) with brutalizer, IE, stark’s, banshee’s, frozen heart and take flash exhaust.
I rarely go full on AP teemo, unless it’s just for fun. I can see how idrisz’s build would work well assuming you can stack your mejai’s, which is the case in any build that uses mejai’s, and is the main reason I don’t use such builds, even with a champ like teemo who has better than average escape skills. They are fun as heck when they work, and no fun at all when they don’t.
Since we’re on the topic of teemo, I have a question for the hivemind. I’ve played a lot of teemo recently and have done very well with him in my 1v1 lanes, but last night i ran up against a kog maw who started the game with vampiric scepter and just pushed the lane with autoattacks to stay at full health. Let’s assume that neither team has a jungler (which wasn’t the case, but might as well have been) so I have to deal with him myself.
The lane started with me stealthed in the middle and him standing on top of me when I autoattacked him, blinded him, hit him again, and ran away, but while I was running he autoattacked me back and gained enough health from lifesteal that we both were at half. It went downhill from there - I couldn’t stand toe to toe with him because of his lifesteal advantage, and I lost poking exhanges because I’d blind, hit him, and run and he’d still end up better off because of the two autoattacks he’d get back on me after I ran and his continuous autoattacks on creeps. He always had a big health advantage on me and had the lane pushed to my tower. Was frustrating and I’d sure like it to go better next time I face him.
