Yea the state of the servers lately have just made me not want to play. Even when you finally get a game, that actually loads in and your not stuck in champ select or some other idiotic problem, it’s gets decided by whoever ends up lagging the least. Which is simply not fun no matter what side your on.

Thanks for getting me into a game last night, guys. Hopefully I can get in on a few more this weekend.

Level 20 is soon, I guess I should think about buying some runes. I’ve got about 12 or 13k IP saved up for them but I’m playing a bunch of characters so it’s hard to decide who to buy for first. On the one hand I feel like it might make sense to wait it out a bit and see if I settle on a few champs I really want to work on and on the other hand I…kinda want to buy a bunch of runes? I was thinking maybe a generic set with like, HP, CDR and move speed. Stuff that would be OK for just about everyone and then maybe add more specific stuff as I go.

Edit: Found this guide while researching runes. Pretty cool stuff.

Depends on the team you are facing. For the typical team full of tanky dps, I go malady, mini bloodrazor, fiendish tome, full bloodrazor, nashor’s, banshee’s, frozen heart (games rarely get to this point) and rely on move quick and summoners (flash ghost) for survivability.

Against a team full of squishies, I’ll actually go dps/lifesteal (and McKnight can shoot me, even though this is the build i used in a nice win with him yesterday) with brutalizer, IE, stark’s, banshee’s, frozen heart and take flash exhaust.

I rarely go full on AP teemo, unless it’s just for fun. I can see how idrisz’s build would work well assuming you can stack your mejai’s, which is the case in any build that uses mejai’s, and is the main reason I don’t use such builds, even with a champ like teemo who has better than average escape skills. They are fun as heck when they work, and no fun at all when they don’t.

Since we’re on the topic of teemo, I have a question for the hivemind. I’ve played a lot of teemo recently and have done very well with him in my 1v1 lanes, but last night i ran up against a kog maw who started the game with vampiric scepter and just pushed the lane with autoattacks to stay at full health. Let’s assume that neither team has a jungler (which wasn’t the case, but might as well have been) so I have to deal with him myself.

The lane started with me stealthed in the middle and him standing on top of me when I autoattacked him, blinded him, hit him again, and ran away, but while I was running he autoattacked me back and gained enough health from lifesteal that we both were at half. It went downhill from there - I couldn’t stand toe to toe with him because of his lifesteal advantage, and I lost poking exhanges because I’d blind, hit him, and run and he’d still end up better off because of the two autoattacks he’d get back on me after I ran and his continuous autoattacks on creeps. He always had a big health advantage on me and had the lane pushed to my tower. Was frustrating and I’d sure like it to go better next time I face him.

What item did u have, Banzai? Not sure what to tell you. I almost always use exhaust on Teemo, because the blind + exhaust means domination of most melee dps. I am really surprised you couldn’t trade shots with him. Was it his E (the long range slow goo) that was giving you trouble?

Yi is specially easy to kill if you see him first. Wait for the alpha, then do the triple (auto attack, q, autoattack), exhaust when blind wears off. At this point he’ll be hitting his escape ability but hopefully just dies.

Pantheon used to be really dangerous but after the nerf I think Teemo can kill him.

I’ve not been a fan of AP Teemo, but I haven’t tried it since the W buff which should help kiting and sheen/lichbane procs.

I’m starting to get annoyed on solo queues. Ping a squishy, initiate, then find 2 people attack the enemy tank, and the other 2 with mejais just run away. Meanwhile I have tunneled vision on their squishy and then just cry because the enemy sivir runs away with 10 hp.

I started with doran’s blade and bought boots and a lot of heal pots on first trip back. I did have problems with goo when I went in for some harrass, as he’d slow me, autoattack with extra range and come out better than I did.

With his attack speed buff, 12% lifesteal, and constant autoattacking, he was always at full health. Since I was eating some autoattacks every time I tried harrassing him with blind + autoattacks, I tried harrassing just with blind, but he had enough lifesteal to get that life back with his creep autoattacks. Really needed to punish him for pushing the lane so hard, but our jungler wasn’t able to do it.

Played as tank gragas today, awesome fun, finished 6/2/28.

Log out, did some chores, try to log in again…

“Servers are currently full.

Approximate wait time: 48 minutes”

Come on, really? I think I just got a WoW flashback.

I totally understand where you’re coming from. Even though the times aren’t as bad for me, I still look at the clock and realize I spent half a Saturday playing this game with you guys and I feel bad.

I saw a spread sheet/forum post on the LoL forums that did a bit of math on how many hours it takes to get everything in the game and how many hours just to get to 6300IP and it made me honestly feel a little ill. I realized that in the time I’ve spent playing this game I could have improved my programming skills, got better at an instrument or any of a number of other similar goals I’ve had and felt bad about not accomplishing.

I don’t think I’ve sunk this many hours into any one game in my life. I think I now know how people who get caught up in MMOs feel.

Sorry this is just my weird depression taking hold.

Edit: Server queue times? Is this a EU thing? The last two nights I logged in just fine on NA and was matched within 30 seconds every time. Reminds me of the old days…

Yep they have turned queues on in the EU. The excuse being there are some big video streaming events occuring causing the issues. Strange how I can play on the US with no issue.

I wasn’t playing well that game either which didn’t help.

Everyone poo-poos starting with a vamp scepter so it is interesting to hear it working. Makes me wonder when I could use it to my advantage.

If you can’t kill somebody then you are weaker then them, and their is very little point in harassing them. This is something a lot of people don’t understand, who just try to harass for the sake of it. That sort of thinking can and will get you killed.

Teemo has short range and Kog has long range and thus you’ll always be at a disadvantage if you simply trade blows. However Teemo excels at 1v1 fighting, it’s simply the way he’s skilled, and if you are going to actually move in to hit him then you need to simply kick the shit through him. It’s why Malady is such a good first item.

They are just making up random excuses at this point. I mean seriously? That’s what your going to blame it on?

It’s getting pathetic at this stage and Riot simply need to man up and say numbers for the EU have gone far above expectations and they simply don’t have the server capacity to handle it. And obviously have no real plans to fix the issue, since chat alone has been a problem for a month or two which was the first sign of servers being under pressure. They need to admit the mistake on their end and go and fix it.

This is why I don’t understand people saying Caitlyn sucks. Her excellent range and her passive make her a great harasser. In fact, she’s the only ranged harass that gives me trouble as Cho, assuming she’s as aggressive as she should be.

There’s your problem! No one should ever start with Doran’s Blade anymore unless they are Akali and built to use it or going for some lulz-y 4 Blade “I will win this game early” build.

Either of the other Doran’s items or a Meki or Regrowth Pendant would be better. 3% lifesteal is literally unnoticeable in the early game.

Akali’s spell vamp passive doesn’t even win her the game early. It’s a pathetic amount of vamp until she builds a good 50 AP or so. She can’t get spell vamp and magic damage on hit passive at the same time at level 1, so… yeah.

Dagger seems like a terrible choice for pretty much every champion right now, unless you have teleport.

She can if you rune properly and start with a Tome.

Just saying ;)

Caitlyn is pretty good early game, but she falls down midgame and sucks lategame compared to every other carry and/or DPS. Her passive requires her to autoattack 8 times before doing 150% damage to an enemy champion. Her ult does terrible damage at level 1, so when you hit level 6 you aren’t suddenly more dangerous like everyone else in the game. Her traps do ok damage in the early game and then no damage lategame because they scale off AP; also being super visible and limited to 2 makes them sort of useless in roaming and they take so long to setup that you can’t effectively use them in teamfights. Her net is purely an escape move. Late game if you build pure AD her ult will do decent damage, but it’s a single target nuke that can be stopped by a tank walking in front of it, can’t crit, and won’t proc any effects that Caitlyn would ever have.

Bah, you realize alot of the folks here are coming from L4D 1 and 2, where Steam tracks hours played? Those can be depressing numbers. But the main thing is to have fun, its not against the law to have fun, especially when it has no monetary cost associated with it, and only the mildest of health risks. But don’t neglect your life either.

True, but it’s still a pretty pathetic amount of vamp if you’re laning against ranged harass that won’t let you get near them. Though the burst is enough to keep the enemies out of the bushes.

Since we’re on the topic of teemo, I have a question for the hivemind. 1)AD/AS teemo sucks period, might as well play any other range carry, almost every other range carries perform better than teemo in most of things that range carry do, longer range/skills that boost attack speed/escape skills.

2)the only burst skill teemo has is Q which scales off AP, his mushroom scales off AP, his poison scales off AP, playing AD teemo is like playing AD annie just because annie’s attack range is long.

3)Starting with doran’s blade on teemo is asking to get your ass handed to you especially in a 1vs1 lane, last night laning against a doran’s blade teemo, I had regrowth pendant and a pot, I forced him back to heal 3 times before lvl 6… he was 4 when I hit 6 in the middle lane, he had ignite + exhaust as mastery, I only had ghost and teleport.

I rarely go full on AP teemo, unless it’s just for fun. I can see how idrisz’s build would work well assuming you can stack your mejai’s, which is the case in any build that uses mejai’s,

you get mejai on teemo is because it’s almost impossible not to get stacks on teemo, average time from 0-20 stacks is about 10-15 minutes if you know how to play.
