Oh no, my Final Fantasy cred is completely shot, that was the SNES one with the multiple release names, I think it was FF2 in the US?

Soraka is weird, as are most support characters, you have to learn a different mindset to play them well. On the other hand, its fun to go zero deaths.

Kain was in FF4. FF7 came waaay later on the PS1 but funnily enough also featured a guy with a big ass spear called Cid.

It’s amazing how much different playing support in a public queue game is vs the way its played in tournaments. In all the recent tournaments the first picks have almost all been support type champions, seeing who got Janna/Zilean/Shen first (assuming they weren’t all banned) was a huge deal. Also the number of random Taric/Alistar/Janna ganks I saw was pretty crazy.

Roaming support is one of those high level tactics I would love to see make its way across more levels of play but I don’t think it ever will.

I’m a fan of Janna and probably see myself buying her. She’s a great pick for babysitting a AD champ.

Apparently in the EU tournaments lane setups are pretty much:

Tank solo top
Mage solo mid
Janna and AD ranged carry bottom.

Janna with a good Ashe or Corki can ruin another team.

Yeah I had pug people berating me for playing Zilian in 3v3. I was told that the was the worst character in the game and I was a terrible player for picking him. >.>

He’s always been an awesome 3v3 character, so screw those dudes. He is hard to play for a support though, but totally awesome if played well.

Random other thing, Riot announced that LoL will be in the WCG again this year. One change over last year is that they’re apparently going to force teams to stick by the “all players from same country rule” that got skirted last year. In case you didn’t watch last year, CLG was considered “Team USA” despite 3 of their 5 players being Canucks. This year they can’t do that. They can have a CLG USA and CLG Canuckistan team if they so choose however.

so we need a QT3 USA team and a QT3 Developing country team?

Well apparently they’re separating EU countries as well, so unless all of our EU players are in the same nation they’d need separate teams as well.

The way they’ve been spinning it is that WCG is like the Olympics/World Cup, while ESL is more like the Champions League. On the one hand it makes sense, on the other for video games which are played across the borderless state of the internet it is just dumb.

It would be kind of fun to put together a Qt3 team or two, just to see how far we could get.

The good teams simply won’t enter then. I can’t imagine that ruling will stick, the vast majority of pro teams are multi-cultural.

We also have an EU ESL team in the making, should be up and running properly in about a week.

Heh, we can’t even win Normal games regularly :)

that’s a lies, I got multiple pages for 15 consec-wins.

Only because we do silly stuff and make sub optimal team compositions.

Also I think winning and losing 5 man blind pick is a lot more random than a draft mode type of deal.

wait, does this mean you win rune pages if you get 15 wins in a row? I might be inclined to experiment less.

So, was there a change to Tiamat (aka Tiaplank)

I jumped into a Pub game and got 5 Tiamats plus my boots - and the other side said ‘Um, dude, they patched that’

I seemed to be fairly effective - ‘patched’ or no

no, the match history only display last 15 matches, I got a nice collection of my 15 consecutive wins…

He takes screenshots and frames them on his wall.

I’m just happy when I scroll back through and see more wins than losses.

Therlun is my bad luck charm. When he plays anything but Xin, we lose. Somehow, it’s his fault.

OH, GP ruleeed. inigima is my witness plus I was streaming too!!!
