Guys… building Tiamats was a joke. Don’t do it.

time to show off my awesome warmog GP!!
44k gold earn…
You lost your tower before 5 minutes and then kill-stole your way to your score! Every single kill you ever got was a killsteal!

Well, Tiamat on GP could be good… I could see him getting massive amounts of cash with his Q ability.
Also, in case anyone else wants to know how to follow in his footsteps, idrisz’s guide to playing Gangplank:
-
Get killed and lose your tower before 5 minutes.
-
Keep farming at all times.
-
If your team gets into a fight, stay where you are and watch the fight.
-
If your team is losing do nothing and go back to farming.
-
If your team is winning without you, wait until the enemies are at less than 200 health and then ult the fight to steal the kills.
-
If your team is pushing and there’s no lanes to farm, run into the jungle and start jungling.
-
Get into a 1 on 1 fight with Alistar 45 minutes into the game and die.
-
Repeat steps 2 through 6.
On a more serious note, that game was ridiculous because the enemy team refused to teamfight with us, so they constantly ran away and backdoored our base non-stop. Eventually it was 3 or 4 of us pushing into their base to take the mid inhibitor and nexus towers while the other 1 or 2 (but not idrisz because he couldn’t win a 1 on 1 fight ;) ) defended the base and killed backdoorers repeatedly.
All any GP does is KS. That is how he works :)
That build is funny but I can’t imagine it is that effective against many teams.

i switch the build so many times during that game, I had so much money, they all decided to build armor because I was basically dominating them with auto attack and Q once I had my IE.
So I went last whisper and build Blood thister then I realized they start focus firing me, so I build more hp… had 10k gold at one point in the game, and sold 3 items(one of them was a trinity force) went 2x warmog and atma, my attack didn’t drop at all, (both of those warmogs were unstack, and I had 4k…)
Oh yeah I killed their sivir so many times, at one point even though I lost the tower at 6 minutes mark, I scored first blood and then another 4 more kills on their sivir.
the very first item sivir made was thornmail.
oh yeah I get the last hits on zilean because no one else can catch up to him except my super uber running speed lol.
That game was so boring. I am serious when I say I would’ve been happy to hand them a surrender just for it to be over.

If the splash kills proc his OMGMOARGOLD passive, then maybe, but it’s something you’d want to sell and replace after you’d farmed with it. And, well, most games aren’t going to last that long (although plank is a farming machine, and I don’t really understand how Calistas wasn’t getting hilarious amounts of money). That’s a big if, though, and if it doesn’t–I’d expect it not to–it’s not worth doing. It’s already easy as hell for plank to melt creep waves, and practically speaking working a tiamat into the build will either make him less dangerous or more squishy, depending on which item it displaces.

it doesn’t give gold on tiamat proc. and plank is a very good farmer especially with the new cd boots, almost every kill you make count twice as much.
That game was ridiculous because you were smurfing and Jab/Phinneas are low level.
Unfortunately this is what happens when you do the above. Not that I have anything against playing with low level people, but the games are always going to be worse then the ones you get normally.
Yeah, I suck farming with plank - run out of mana too easily, even with blue/yellow regen and (at the time) a fairie charm.
Lost three games as MF tonight, three completely retarded teams, eg, a Nunu whose only suvivability item was BV and kept dying… hmm… perhaps work on some other shit dood so we’re not all dead before my ult has finished?
Two other teams were full of people bitching at each other the entire time and rage-feeding and being shit. I also got eaten alive by an extremely competent Akali. I’ve never seen one play quite so ‘nimbly’ so I wasn’t prepared for it. Mostly I see Akali mooch about, drop her shadow thing, and then run away, this one got in my face and killed me 3 times in the laning phase. I couldn’t seem to keep out of her range as MF, very annoying. Not sure what I could have done about it other than give up on last hits (she was very aggressive at zone control).
I understand Akali doesn’t bring much to Ranked tho? Or is she a melee carry who is a useful face-rocker? She looks interesting to try.
2 Philostones into 2 Avarice Blades into IE with CDR boots in there somewhere. Easiest way to solve your mana problems forever (with yellow mana regen runes) and also gives you tons of gold. One of the most commonly used GP builds out there (you either go this for DPS plank or go Manamune for Tankplank)
Akali is one of the strongest Anti-Carries in the game and a competent one is a huge asset (against the right team comps mind). She is a counter pick mind, so you can’t just blindly pick her and you will probably have the odd shitty game in Blind pick playing her.

hmm why bother with 2 philospher stone, just make chalice then IE…
anyways I played another game of GP afterwards with pogo and joshv, they surrender at 25, since we were just steamrolling them.
I went mid as GP and owned leblanc.
Chalice is alot of money to be spending on mana regen. Philostones start generating gold immediately aswell as giving you some nice lane staying power across the board (and with GP your ideal game is you staying in lane forever).
The only time I’d even consider Chalice as a pick up is if you needed the magic resist to simply not die in lane. That goes for any champion, not just GP.
Ahhh thanks for the tips! That all makes sense. How does manamune take you tanky? It isn’t tanky is it? Me forget.
Yeah, I need to read up more on team comp and picks and counter-picks but I haven’t seen much around on the topic.
In pub games building to counter carries is probably not a bad idea. So many mostly-carry teams out there!
The point is you can get Manamune early, charge it extremely fast and rely on that for damage for the majority of the game, building tanky items after it and then coming back late game for an IE/Last whisper.
DPS GP farms all game and helps fights with his Ulti, till he comes in late game and destroys with max items. Tankplank lets you have a bigger effect on teamfights during the midgame when normally you’d be useless. Both builds have their merits.

err philosopher stone is only 90 gold cheaper, you don’t need to health regen as GP, you have a skill that restore health.
as GP just get 1 chalice and boots and go straight for IE. any else basically just slow you down, with IE you basically can farm/dominate early to mid games.
the last game with pogo, at 25 minutes mark I already had IE, CDR boots, chalice and another cloak of agility(880 gold) atma’s.
Even tankplank go IE, then Atma as one of the item on tank plank because it offer attack for hp, critical as well as armor.
if you go 2x philosopher instead going straight for IE usually mean you have no confidence in winning your lane and you don’t think you can win early or mid game, so you are hoping you make it to end game to make it worth while, work on other champions, but GP farm so crazy fast, getting gold generating item isn’t even a big deal. you are basically making extra 16 gold every 4 seconds just on Parley alone if you are good with last hitting, that’s 4x as much as 2 gold generating items.
I never said you don’t get IE… Once again you seem to be answering points I never made.
Philostone is not only 90g cheaper but is also both coast effective and starts generating gold for you straight away (much like a heart of gold, the other gold/5 items are far less cost effective). Thus it’s an extremely good way to spend early gold as it makes you plenty of gold and can be sold back later for a decent amount of the real price. Chalice however gives you nothing but mana regen, can you not see how spending 900g solely on mana regen is a waste?
