So has anyone noticed the changes to minions actually making the games shorter?

Not a bit so far.

Sort of. “Minions have destroyed a turret” occurs with more frequency now.

Didn’t they roll back some of those minion changes?

Been stalking this thread for a while,
New champ Nocturne looks amazing. I just blew all of my earned points on Jarvan, so I may have to finally pull my credit card out for this game. I’ve also been watching some gameplay vids of Kog Maw, and am really dying to try him out too, seems like a total pest, and pretty fun.
Still trying to find my way around with Jarvan though, haven’t gotten too much playtime in with him, any of you guys have any builds/strats with him that you’ve found to work out well?

Also, I’m in an airport in Paris right now, and the computers are 5 euro an hour, but they have steam on them! I was just LANing with a bunch of frenchies.

do they surrender at 20?

Just getting into the game, mostly doing comp stops with pub groups against the AI. If anyone wants another noob to hang out with, I am Angrycoder on there.

Swain is strong. :)

The Germans surrender at 20, the French just ragequit.

I am really enjoying doing coop vs AI with new players. It’s a real fight to get stacks early and keep them if the other lanes end up feeding.

Executioners calling seems to cut him down quite nicely - or at least stops him life stealing it back.

Ignite and other healing reduction effects absolutely slaughter Swain, but this is presuming that he is actually being focused. A tank build Swain can still be tough to take down, but all those “OMG he never dies and he does so much damage he’s so OP!” Swain AP builds get severely hurt by those effects if the team decides that he has to be focused.

Even so, 1v1 or 1v2 he’s fucking hard to take down, and if he has blue buff just fucking forget it, let him go.

I had a 40 minute co-op vs AI game yesterday. I wasn’t really used to playing with noobs, underestimated the bots (we rolled them in my first AI vs bots game), and went 7-8 with Sivir. The bots are much better at sticking together and ganking lone players now and Annie and someone else were pretty good about using their stuns. The one big advantage they have over a lot of public players is that they use competent item builds. How many intermediate bots are there? Malphite was stupid, but Shen and Annie are pretty decent.

Ryze can also be pretty deadly. MF seems kinda clueless. It’s really just the bots with CC that you have to be careful of.

They patched it out because it was too OP.

Build him as a tank and roll faces. Assuming of course the next patch doesn’t nerf him down with all the other tanky dps.

I like him when I build him tanky, but I would like to try out a phantom dancer, infinity edge, crit type build. Thoughts?

Crit won’t help you, your abilities scale off Phys Damage. You need to look at building raw damage and Armor Penetration if you want a more DPS focused build. And remember, Brutalizer is your best friend always and forever.

A bit of critique on my builds, please - for ranked games - 5v5

Basic assumption - Shen, Rammus, Malphite, Amumu banned. Also assume that I am picking appropriately to my draft spot.

My default character is Mundo - with a pure tank build - Yes, he’s not an ideal tank, but I tend to have him nigh unkillable by the end game, really only fearing ignite.

Doran’s shield -> Spirit Visage -> Mercury Treads -> Warmogs -> Vary it up depending on enemies, some combination of:

Guardian Angel vs. Melee
Wardens Mail -> Randuins Omen vs. Melee
Force of Nature vs. Casters

That covers my tank option.

As an AP caster, my default is Heimer - although he is weak weak weak in ranked. Heimer excels in area control, which is greatly trumped by Ranked players ability to gather and gank. Typically I have not run into teams begging me to play AP

I have played Gangplank in unranked games, but I’m not satisfied with his squishiness. Also I tend to play him as a ranged caster for far too long. So, my playstyle and his abilities don’t make him a good AD choice.

Which has me trying out Garen -

It seems like this is a good build for him - comments welcome

Doran’s shield - Boots of Swiftness -> Tiamats -> Phantom Dancer -> Atma’s Impaler -> Zeal -> Infinity’s Edge

Just as a point of interest, if you get a Warmogs you should almost always get a FoN. As it also greatly reduces Madrad damage. Other then your Mundo build looks good, you should look at a late game Atma’s for damage if it goes that long aswell.

Heimer is extremely good against melee, something to be coveted in todays “tanky DPS” metagame. He can be tough to play if the team doesn’t take him into consideration at champ select.

I’m not sure where to start with you Garen build… At the very least, don’t buy Atma’s without a Warmogs or some other large health item. Tiamats are also an awful pick up on practically every champ, this goes doubly so for one with no mana and an AoE farming skill. That’s just critique though, unfortunately I can’t throw you a really good build because I don’t play Garen at all and he’s also not commonly seen in any games. I do have a friend that used to main him for quite a while, I’ll ask him tomorrow.

I hate the “ban all the decent tanks” metagame in low-mid Elo ranked games now. Just leads to terrible team comps in low Elo since nobody ever knows how to play a second tier tank. I guess I should play singed more but sometimes I just don’t feel like it.
