More seriously, to me the base stats nerf but AP ratio buff suggests they want to make him more like an item dependant caster. The nerf to carnivore will really hurt my laning phase, will get a lot less mana and you didn’t get that much already. I think meki instead of sapphire will make a lot of sense, and building it into the codex will become a more popular idea too. Perhaps boots + codex + rod of ages + FoN with pure defensive masteries now?
I am seriously pissed about the scream nerf though – I just started using it instead of Q!!!
Mcknight, I wouldn’t call Flash an evolution of blink dagger. Blink dagger was a mechanic halfway between flash and teleport. You are right it was stupider, but at least 80% of players didn’t have it.
Maybe I just rarely see good Alistars, but I played a ranked game just now with an amazing one. The way he would pick off stragglers, knock them up, and head butt them back to us was a joy to behold. Our team stomped the other team so hard. I went 10-1-24 as Warwick, with the 1 death because I got triple teamed trying to finish off the Nexus - my team played it safe and ran away but I could have easily finished it with one more helper. Our Jarvan was actually pretty good too.
Banshees moved to 45 seconds, that’s quite a change - :(

Oh gee, my opinion about BV had merit before patch notes were even released? No fucking way!
It’s a good thing people are arguing about my opinion about Flash. We’ll see what Riot thinks about that in the future as 80% of all ranked players continue to take it. That people are OK with the idea that “some champs need Flash” is indicative of how ridiculous a feature it is.
Cho’s Scream isn’t much of a nerf. It’s the Carnivore mana return cut in half that hurts, and the Feast (which now requires 300 AP just to begin making up for the loss in damage… i.e. forget it). I’ll continue taking the regen mastery with him anyways.
And again, fuck the retards that play this fucking game. I had to play Co-op vs. AI for my first win of the day bonus after me/Copet lost against a team 5v4. That’s right, 5v4.
Oh yeah, I forgot that if I just have time for one game I can co-op vs AI now for the 150 IP bonus.
Is it my lack of understanding of the game, or are the maokai buffs not that significant?
20 extra damage doesn’t seem like much, but it is a 40% damage increase at level 1. Most damage buffs and nerfs come in the 5-20 point range since they’re based more around you using them repeatedly than trying to one-shot someone. It is kind of sad that the only thing leveling his ult does still is reducing the cooldown, though.
Which is why it is sort of crazy sad that Cho’s ult lost 150 damage. Industrious mathcrafters have already figured out that the ratio increase doesn’t actually turn into any kind of buff until you have OVER 750 ap. Which you shouldn’t get as Cho since it means you are a squishy caster who dies instantly on trying to run into melee range.
Also I missed the argument, but I disagree that flash is NECESSARY! on anyone since I refuse to use it at all on general principle and do just fine as champions like Ashe, Kog’Maw, and Galio. I too really wish it would go away.
I think you can play a very adequate Ashe, Kog or Galio without flash, but, I have a hard time believing you would be anything more then adequate.
Adequate: it’s LoL for ‘terrible’.

It seems to me the issue isn’t that it gives some champions who lack escapability/insta-reposition that ability (on a long cool down). It’s that it gives champions who can do those things already more.

If I am playing Warwick and I am going to try to gank them mid, I would much rather Ashe or Kog did not have flash.

Adequate really isn’t good, I’ve learned. You have to carry your team in ranked or you will never advance :P
I don’t mind the nerf on feast, getting hit by 800 TRUE damage is not really nice.
Adequate enough to go 22/5/10 and carry you on my back like a sack of grain.

Flash is a crutch. It lets you do some pretty amazing skill shot type things, like flash in and do an ult as Galio, or flash out across a barrier to avoid the enemy team. But its definitely not necessary or required on any build, you just couldn’t pull off as many risky maneuvers and have to use good old fashioned positioning instead.
It would be nice to see an anti teleport/flash skill, like activate it and for the next 30 seconds, nothing can teleport in our out of a radius around your character. (would block flash, but also ez’s teleport and TF’s teleport and Shen’s teleport, etc.)
This is more of a philisophical question now.
