Well that’s kind of thee definition of a counter pick isn’t it?
You should try Taric, he heals and stuns and is harder to kill than Soraka. He was the first support character I reeeeally enjoyed playing.
The key to Nasus is last hitting, if you can continuously charge your Q by killing minions ALL game you will hit like a truck late. Build him somewhat tanky and keep to yourself early last hitting with Q and you will be a force in late game.
I used to main Heimer months and months ago but since the nerf his play style has changed so much I don’t find it fun. He’s still as good or better then he was, he’s just totally different. Its all about the grenade and missiles and the turrets are just kind of support now it feels like. People are right though that there are just plain better options for AP carries, but he is kind of support too. I’ve been playing Malzahar for my AP fix recently.

AP peeps should give Swain a shot next time he’s free. He’s too expensive to just buy to try out (6100 IP).
I have a friend who plays him all the time and is very good… He seems like a very strong solo character and very hard to combat early. But he doesn’t seem to carry in late game as well as some other AP chars. Like Anivia, still a good character though.
Caitlyn also destroys Heimer since her range is greater than the turrets.
Had a great game as Ashe yesterday in ranked. Went 7/0/7 but more importantly I hit like 70-80% of my arrows across the map. Even got first blood when I pinned an Alistair under our tower while solo top fell back to heal.
Anyone got any advice on Kat builds? I feel like she is a good solo queue stomper at the elo I’m at and want to start playing her.
Her Q and R scale off both AD and AP at the same time now, so Gunblades add more damage to her than any other item in the game. Boots are kinda situational as always, but I lean towards cooldown boots since she is cooldowns only and all other CDR items are terrible on her. You might want to get a Rylai’s for the health and slightly slowing people to get a few extra hits in with her ult since she has no CC.
Depending on how you’re laning you might want to start with a Doran’s shield for survivability in the early game. They lowered her base damage and increased her scaling, so she is really weak before level 5 now. If you think you can handle skipping the shield, you can start with a tome and build straight to a revolver as your first item. All her skills deal magic damage so throwing knives with a revolver will let you last hit, harass, and heal all at the same time.
Basically start with or without a Doran’s Shield, get a Gunblade, boots, Rylai’s, and stack Gunblades unless you really need some other utility item for the enemy team. Remember that Kat NEEDS to be the last person into a teamfight to do anything useful.
I have seen a few people using a tanky Kat build where they stack Warmogs and get Atma’s, but I am unsure of its usefulness. She is a champion where you either get some kills and do whatever you want, or do not much for the rest of the game.

Late game he does fall off a bit, which is why he should build tanky-AP (Rylai’s for slowing with his ult, Abyssal for MR, some armor item at some point) so that he can be more of a controller that can survive with his ult running through a teamfight to CC any carries.
If you can manage it, an early Mejai’s with some stacks (and not dying) can basically make Kat win the game for you.
I have to say, after having played Bloodline Champions, Riot could learn a bit from them in terms of aesthetics and art design; compare any, and I do mean ANY, of their champions’ art direction/design and basically all Riot designed champions… really.
I prefer LoL in terms of game mechanics, even more than any other dota-like game, but I really wish it would get a facelift.
I would agree, Bloodlines is a great game but I really don’t like the skill shot mechanics they went for. After playing Lol for over a year I would love to see some changes to graphics, adding in replay, specator mode etc to bring some life into it. Not that I plan on going anywhere :)
They are updating the graphics. I think the character design is mostly fine in LoL with the in game models generally being very discernible. I’d also argue
that they must be doing something right as LoL was easily one of the most popular cosplays at PAX from what I saw.
It’s amazing that they’ve been making any kind of push to be an e-sport and still have no integrated replay capability. I know they say they’ve been working on it since the beginning of time and they’re really close now, but HoN had it out of the box. It would be so useful for us middling players to figure out exactly where we went wrong. And to slow down team fights about 10x to see what really happened.

I guess it’s a taste thing since I thought Bloodline Champions looked very ugly with a horrible brownish green colour palette. The champions had no personality compared to LoL.

Why don’t you use the user-created replay tool (LoL Replay)? Riot is ok with it and you won’t get banned.
I thought that aswell personally.
Also LoLReplay is amazing, considering we have gotten nothing from Riot.
lolreplay is great but lack of rewind kills it for me at the moment

Same here, I couldn’t tell any of the champions apart, they all looked like a brown/green mess on the screen.
agreed, the instant recognition of who a char is is crucial… I just wish Riot would get the server issues shored up, I’m sure it will happen with their new cash flow.

I feel the complete opposite. I guess part of it is having played LoL a lot more, but I think Riot did very good work with making every hero and ability graphically unique and easy to identify. In comparison Bloodlines and HoN are just a mess of flying colours and scores of indistinguishable abilities for me.
