He is so heavily based on the skill level of the person playing him though. I have a friend who queue dodges him whenever he sees someone on him just because no one we play with seems to know how to manage him.
Its all about your play style meshing with whomever you are playing imo. I think at high level Blitz is generally considered lower tier champ wise, however, there are some guys that just wreck on him. If you watch some streams the people that always get banned are usually the one that are considered to be top tier. Seems like Irelia is banned almost every game now adays. Along with some mix of Nocturne, Zilean, Janna, Rammus and Shen. But I mean if they don’t fit how you play it doesn’t work :)
Is it the QT3 RTS group or is there a LOL specific one?
There’s a LoL specific one, which I would link if Steam hadn’t removed it’s URL bar (I mean seriously, who the fuck was in charge of that design decision?). Try searching QuartertoThree, it should come up.

I’m trying out kog maw and I think I like him almost as much as playing Blitz. Just tried a custom game and I noticed that I didn’t seem to be doing as much damage as I saw someone else playing Kog Maw did. What should I be building on him?
The thing to understand with Kog, is that even if you aren’t going AP a large portion of your damage is still going to be magic so it’s best to build with that in mind. Really there are two ways to play Kog, you either focus on W and the augmented auto attack or you play more towards using his r/e. Q in general you need to get too close to use the active on.
With W you are doing 6% enemy max health base at level 5, this is magic damage. A Bloodrazor will get this to 10%. A malady is a good pickup as well as it adds AS and reduces MR on hit. Primarily you want to focus on AS and magic pen. Sometimes with this build I’ll throw in a Cleaver for some AD and armor pen to make it more of a hybrid. Phage/Mallet not a terrible idea for kiting. Haunting Guise or Void Staff depending on enemy
team MR build.
If you are going to play more focusing E/R then you kind of build like
most AP casters. I’ve had a lot of luck with a Rylai’s here as your E becomes a very heavy slow as well as your ult now having a bit of slow added to it, the health helps a ton too. You still want to build a Malady here as it does get you AP and the AS still helps with W. You can hit 10% with W from AP items. Throwing on a Bloodrazor late can boost W up to 14%.
Occasionally you’ll see more straight up AD builds but I don’t think that’s the way to go with him unless your team is lacking heavily in AD.
Generally the W route is thought to be the better way to go; however, I personally tend to have a better K/D (not necessarily higher kills, just a better ratio) if I go the e/r route. Usually I make my decision based on the enemy team composition, if they have a Mundo/Cho or other health stacker you want to go W.
Malady into Madrads into Frozen Mallet followed by either a BV or a GA depending on enemy team comp. Late Game you will need a Void Staff.

I love getting bitched at for “feeding Malzahar” 3 times in mid after level 6 as Urgot, as if any of the dumb fucks I was playing with would have done better, or done something other than focus Singed in team fights. Of course they also conveniently forgot that Shaco ganked every single lane multiple times before level 12.
I don’t really care about rude people, being called a feeding faggot by someone on the internet doesn’t ruin my day or my game, but the worst are people who have no concept of why they are losing, or who think that just because they had an easy laning phase due to outskilling some monkey on the enemy team, that they would have done just as well in my lane. This is almost always accompanied by some remark at K/D/A numbers.
My favorite is when they single you out even though you aren’t the worst player on the team. “oh, I see, the 2/14/1 veigar must be a friend of yours because how else could my 4/8/5 deserve your ire and not him?”
I got yelled at for feeding once because a 6/0/something Olaf kicked our asses in a badly executed team fight. Olaf killed me twice in lane (his first 3 kills were other people for sure; I think I was #4 and #6). Via tower dives both times (3 on 1 tower dives, mind you. Where I had plenty of health to start both).
Yes, it was my fault Olaf got fed, clearly.

My favorite yelled moment was when an Eve died and complained that it was my fault as blitz because I had a huge mana pool. I guess they didn’t understand the concept of cooldown on skills or what tear of the goddess does when you spend the early game spamming E.
found it, but it’s invite only. I’m Lokust2501 on steam, if whoever runs it reads this.
I spent most of last week playing Cho as a tank build. My favorite moment was getting yelled at by some dude for ‘feeding’ while my lane partner was racking up double and triple kills.
I’m still at the low levels, but so far playing as a tank in pub games was a thankless and mostly fruitless pursuit. Nothing like wading into a horde of enemy champions, pissing them all off, then watching my DPSers run away. I’ve gone back to playing Kata and Ryze and am much happier.
Unless they finally fixed it in the last patch, Rylai’s doesn’t actually work on Kog’s ult (and never has). I forget if it got fixed but for a while it didn’t work on his W either. I shall have to go test this!
The most important thing to remember as Kog is that you are an artillery piece and should never be in the middle of a fight if you can avoid it. He is the squishiest character in the game and if you try to lead a charge you will die instantly and horribly.
But you can suicide into them and do some damage!
Holy sheets! It took them almost a year but they did actually make Rylai’s slow work with Kog’Maw’s ult! It doesn’t work with the magic damage from his W, and it looked like there was something goofy going on where it didn’t always apply the full slow to his vomit, but his mortar finally slows people. I will have to try actually using Rylai’s now.
Also, Kog’s death explosion doesn’t do very good damage and bizarrely cancels speed buffs but keeps slows on you, but there is indeed nothing as hilarious as getting a double kill after you die!

Kog and Urgot play similarly, you bomb the enemy from a safe distance. Your worst enemy is a melee bruiser that can get in your face (Jarvan, Xin, Trynd, Olaf).
I tried AP Yi in Co-Op and failed miserably until farming up items. That playstyle requires a finesse that I don’t think I have yet.
It applies the 15% slow for AoE abilites, same as any other AoE ability. You won’t get a slow on your W because it’s an on-hit effect.

For a very long time it was a known bug that it didn’t work on his ult.
I know this, I’m just referring to why you won’t get the full slow on his E.
