Nooo, I didn’t mean it that way at all :)

Also Copet is right, Sorc Shoes are a serious requirement on LeBlanc.

Lol I know you didn’t, I am though. I can last hit decently early game but I can never seem to get my farm on. I have many other problems as well, such as engaging. I don’t really know what else to do other than jump in a spam my abilities in the recommended order on the target we seem to be nuking, I hear the sighs that I should be able to kill them but with my abilities on cooldown I’m not sure what else to do, but I see other people jump in and get a successful kill in similar situations. I’m getting better, but I have a long way to go until I’m not terrible.

I hear you, and it’s a problem alot of new people encounter when they start playing new champions.

One of the biggest factors is something you’ve addressed already, CSing. A champ kill is worth 300g base, a full creep wave weighs in at ~110-150 depending on Cannons and time in the game. Being able to last hit effectively is a huge deal and the easiest way to smooth out your play. Just fire up an empty practice game and free farm mid, aim for missing a max of one creep per wave. It takes time, is a bit boring (listen to podcasts/music or something) but will smooth out your play incredibly and is more then worth it.

Also, you are most likely duo laning. The difference between a solo lane and a duo lane are huge on a lot of champs and this detail tends to be taken for granted by new players. Some champions simply need a solo lane to be effective, AP carries being one of the main ones. LeBlanc needs a solo lane, and you are handicapping yourself by not playing her in one. You can’t just blindly pick a champ (if you want to win anyway) you need to pick not just for team comp, but also for the laning phase.

The teamfight thing is something that only comes with a lot of experience with the character. Knowing exactly when you can kill someone, when you can escape, if you can hang around and fight or not, takes a huge number of games to become second nature.

MX, you shouldn’t need a meki pendant for your nasus build. You can start with a doran’s shield if you go 9/0/21 - I almost never seem to run out of mana with nasus, but you shouldn’t spam wither OR spirit fire. Remember, nasus is the king of QQ!

Reasons not listen to mx, Exhibit A!

He actually did have a solo lane, mid vs. Cass. Not so much of a lategame teamfight presence, but rough to lane against. I was able to cover the lane so he could heal and not die, and prevented most early deaths, but it’s not an easy lane to win early.

Our options were limited since I was jungling. We sent Sivir to 1v2 top as they didn’t have a jungler, and Leblanc was our next best pick for mid since they had several obnoxious options for mid.

LeBlanc should destroy Cass in mid, she can kill her in one combo aswell as silencing Cass to prevent her own.

And I really advocate practicing CSing then, if that’s CS from a solo lane then that’s simply not good enough (not meaning to be derogatory here, that’s just a fact).

I’m 9/0/21 and I have terrible mana regen runes, so I guess I’ll give doran’s a try.

LeBlanc simply can NOT be played without being able to W>Q>R>E>W. That E might not always hit, or it might break when you blink back to your W, but it has to be done nonetheless.

And to achieve this, you HAVE TO SMARTCAST. There is simply now time to press Q, click, R, click, E, click, W. You have to be holding shift that whole time. If Shift screws you over because you keep holding it and right clicking, then you have to UNBIND “click attack move” in the keybindings so that holding shift doesn’t screw you over by making you attack the nearest enemy (creep) in range even if you’re clicking away.

You don’t have to smartcast, it is perfectly possible to do the combo with regular ability use. Some people just find smartcasting easier (and it usually is).

Also a nice trick, or at least one that worked for me, was to bind smartcast keys to zxcv. So if I am playing a champ I want to smartcast with, I simply shift my keyboard hand down a touch and play as normal. I did play for 2 months with it the other way around though, that was a fun experience (with normal ability use bound to zxcv, and smartcast as qwer). I changed back when they nerfed Malphite’s Q range and had to spend 2 weeks relearning the character (to get ability timings back to what they used to be) :/

So I’ve been messing with Malphite, and he’s pretty fun. He doesn’t go down easily and hits hard enough. I just wish the Ultimate’s cooldown was a little shorter.

I should really smart cast more. Is it that essential? I imagine so. I should also learn to last hit a hell of a lot better. Thing is, I get distracted by teamfights etc.

I play LeBlanc and every other hero without using smart cast and I do just fine. I think it’s down to personal preference more than anything.

If you’re running low on mana spamming things with Nasus, I reccommend you try starting with Manamune. It is easy to max out on Nasus by late game, and will be giving you around 70 damage by then.

No, fuck manamune on Nasus. Doran’s works fine.

We just had a game where Chiffy’s Ashe got focused so hard by their AD (renek, ashe, and especially nocturne) that he went randuin/thornmail. They, uh, they didn’t alter their targeting priorities, so they failed hilariously.

Ok so I was being a little hyperbolic, but that LeBlanc combo is best done by saving the split seconds with smartcasting. I still use clickcasting sometimes if I need to line something up, I suppose. Holding shift and facerolling the keys (lol Swain) makes more sense to me than multiple key presses and clicks.

Well, Veigar didn’t much care for Chiffy, he seemed to focus straight onto Akali/Sion, for obvious reasons.

I miss playing with Garen and Jax but it seems nearly impossible to play with them lately, either gets focused on team fights pretty badly and I end up under-performing.

Also, jungling Nunu is hilariously fun.

Quoted for motherfucking truth. You shouldn’t run out of mana on nasus, especially once you have your sheen.

I’m SlyFrog in game as well. I’ll try to pop in and not noob things up too much. :)

So what is a good item order for Malphite? Currently I am going Doran’s Shield, Mercury Treads, Sunfire as my initial items.

Is the damage returned by thornmail true damage, physical, or magical? I usually ignore thornmail when I play renekton because I tend to build a lot of armor penetration while also building somewhat tanky, under the impression that I was negating a lot of the armor and blocking a lot of the damage return. (armor pen, armor, and magic resist runes, armor and magic resist masteries, yumou’s ghostblade, last whisper, black cleaver, aegis, guardian, and ionian boots are my typical build)
