My favorite kill steal will always be the game we played the other day where I was fighting Warwick as Jax, and when I had him stunned and one hit away from dying, idrisz comes sailing in with MF’s retarded high movement speed and just last hits him with Q. Then thirty seconds later does the exact same thing to Thorn. A little while later he did it to Therlun. I loved how the game ended with all of us going “I hate you so much.”

Right up there with that is when I was playing Kat and shunpo-ulted into someone, and as my ult ticked his life down McKnight literally stood there next to me doing NOTHING but waiting to last hit the guy before my final ult knife killed him. It was so over the top blatant I had to laugh.

This is one problem I have with this genre. You’re not just in competition with the enemy, you’re in competition with YOUR OWN TEAM. You can get over a thousand gold for a kill but you get a relatively bullshit pittiance for assists. So if someone is on a roll grabbing kills and have a skill that lets them farm well too they wind up hoovering up all the money in the game, getting six super-items while everyone else on their team is poor and can barely afford their first one.

Just played a game with someone called DORA N BOOTS, and yup, all they got as Morgana was Doran Rings and boots. And they died a lot. We still won though!

I’m not gonna lie… That has to be one of my fondest memories in this game, it was as if I was last hitting a creep. Your screams of dismay just made it all the sweeter :)

We going to guess that Karthus was laned with I - but that would be mad - Karthus if he is going to be played should go mid, i’m guessing not in this game. It can’t be underestimated what an advantage the mid player gets from this and a disadvantage for the player who should be in mid :)

oh that game was funny, first sivir mid, where I killed her at lvl 4, then they switch to olaf mid which I killed at lvl 6, then kennen came which I killed at lvl 7.

Really weird aswell because they both farm spectacularly well mid/late game. Karthus especially just devours waves once he’s got some AP under his belt.

That will happen (having been on the receiving end). If you start changing mid partners the mid who stays static already has the feed advantage as well as the level advantage.

Sometimes it seems a change is required tho. Trist plays well versus almost everyone mid, but Twitch and Ashe give me damn conniptions if I am against them mid.

Although, Sona is on my shitlist right now. Lanes against her and another twice last night and we got constantly harried by her and her partner. Couldn’t drop either of them and she putsout the damage on top of her great healing. Very annoying.

That’s the normal state of things, you have to unlock other characters if you don’t want to play the rotating free ones.

Edit: Do you guys get a ton of people leaving during champion selection and knocking you back out to the queue? I usually get a couple false starts before an actual game, but maybe it’s because I’m low level.

Queue dodging is fairly common at level 30 in “Normal” games too, especially for the first few days when a new champ is released (lots of people queue dodge if they’re not able to select the new champ).

A note on the GDC awards LoL won, it was for GDC Online. In the Best Technology category their competitors were Facebook games and some defunct Online startup stuff or whatever. So yeah there is that.

I played possibly the most soul sucking match Ive ever played last night. My team:

Ashe, Dr Mundo, Olaf, Rammus and me as Kog.

The other team:

Galio, Karthus, Malzahar, Morgana, and Miss Fortune.

Now looking at the teams, thats not too bad right? Well our Rammus took REVIVE and teleport. He ran right into Galio and MF and died within the first minute. Then revived and teleported back in. Imagine this level of either badness or noobishness for 66 minutes. He never participated in team fights, he pushed lanes by himself even when it was a horrible idea, he never retreated, just fed, fed, fed.

And yet he didnt end up with the most deaths! Ashe some how died more than him, somewhere around 17 times (I took a screen cap Ill post later). Now Ashe had 17 kills but still! I had like 14 kills and only 4 deaths, 2 of which came when defending the base at by myself. I hit godlike and we still lost.

Unbelievably frustrating to play that well individually and lose because someone intentionally fucked things up.
