I probably should have said “my play was like a donkey on roller skates”. For some reason we had increasing difficulty as a team last night (our good run as survivors on DC 3 notwithstanding). Things here and there didn’t help - I announced I was running back for the gas can on DC2 and it was agreed that I should, but I was not covered and somebody smoked me and that didn’t help at all, as I needed to be rescued which took away from the tank killing. I don’t know why we didn’t carry the can in the first place, honestly.

Since I’m on break at work and bored,I thought up some more achievements we could try adding to the server. (will update as more come to mind).
Some general ones for killing infected with select weapons
" I am the Free-Man": get 50 kills with the crowbar in a single round.
Crackshot: Get 50 kills with either the hunting rifle or sniper rifle in a single round.
Zombie safari: Get 50 kills with the machete in a single round
And some harder ones:
“… you’ll just make him mad”: stagger a tank using a pipebomb.
The first step is a doozy: As a survivor be picked up from hanging then hang from a ledge again within 10 seconds of the first pickup.

I’d like to suggest a few negative “achievements”:
“I’m really on the other team” - awarded for 2 or more spawns as boomer with no players actually boomed.
“Spit and Miss” - awarded for spitting and hitting no one in a life
“I don’t quite get this” - awarded for spawning while all your teammates are awaiting respawn
We getting a game going tonight? I haven’t been able to get on and play in a few days. The lobby has either been total wasteland or another game was full ::sadpanda::
“Retro Hunting” - 3 lives as hunter without ever pouncing or even crouching
“Point-Whore” - Pounce/Charge/Jockey the last survivor away from another infected who has already effectively ended the game by grabbing them

The new mutation is up this week so we should see the lobby packed. Also if anyone wants to do an expert run with it I would be up for it. The blog also mentions a buff for the jockey as well as limiting defibs and kits in vs.
Also on the subject of negative achievements:
“Get your own!” as a SI kill either a jockey , smoker, hunter or charger who is currently attacking a survivor.
“Give me some space” as a boomer die and cause any other SI to be stumbled.
Get a GPS: As a boomer spawn behind the survivors and not spit for more then 15 seconds.

It’s an item that has proper strategic uses and drawbacks. The explosion provides a threat to all infected for a limited time, while at the same time causing damage to survivors if used improperly. Having a melee weapon is a drawback if you want to use special ammo.
Hell, take fire ammo out of versus. That shit is useless.

This is a really unfortunate mutation. It’s unfortunate because the hitboxes for the heads in this game just aren’t accurate at all, and I don’t think it has anything to do with lag as a zombie can be right in front of you and a headshot won’t register. If the zombie is in the middle of an animation like crawling, running, or just plain getting up 3 feet in front of you… good luck.
I realized this a while ago in Expert Realism as well, since body shots do so little damage (rendering the military rifle nearly useless and the magnum overpowered as all hell, even required).
The funny thing is, you can blow off a zombie head with this mutation and the zombie will still attack you, forcing you to just spray it with bullets until you hit whatever area around the neck you need to in order to kill it. At least that’s momentarily hilarious when it happens
I think because it’s too powerful. It really doesn’t cause a lot of damage. OTOH, it instat fucks up any infected. It’s like the GL in that respect, but at least the GL is harder to aim.

Pogo, it sounds like they’re trying to make the game a little easier for SI in vs. Which includes dropping explosive ammo, because it’s definitely an advantage for the survivors. Sounds like a great idea to me.

But with explosive ammo, you only need to hit, it doesn’t matter where. It requires barely any skill to use explosive ammo in this fashion. It takes far less time.
It’s fine that you don’t agree with the change, but it is absurd to suggest “Explosive ammo has little advantage going on.”
You don’t actually have to HIT special infected to stagger them with explosive ammo. Just the ground or wall next to them. I’ve killed boomers I couldn’t see from around corners and the bottom of ladders with it. Pogo may not have noticed this because he always hits everyone in the face anyways.
As far as I could tell the only weaknesses of explosive ammo are that it royally fucks your team up with friendly fire in higher difficulty co-op, and that you wind up having to waste it all on hordes if you don’t have a melee weapon or magnum.
