To all you guys who just picked up the game: one of the best habits you can get into is joining the Qt3-L4d chat room. Just about every night there’s ppl in there and we usually form 1 or 2 games, and sometimes 4 or 5, through the course of the evening.

Even if it’s empty when you come on, just idling there will ensure you see the messages when ppl arrive and start getting games going. Don’t worry about your skill level, but It’d be a good idea to just let everyone know if you don’t have much experience - that was we can balance the teams to try to ensure everyone has fun.

Yes, it was quite frustrating last night with 7 of us sending out friend requests to try & get that 8th. We got someone everytime, but had to wait sometimes 20-30 minutes.

We were so excited with all this fresh meat so we could get games going quick, but we haven’t seen much of you new people, so please follow Pyrhic’s advice.

So, really stupid newbie question: on the rollercoaster crescendo in Dark Carnival, where the fuck is the off switch and how do you get to it? Got wiped out twice there before giving up in frustration - not because it was itself so horribly difficult, but because it gets really old running around in circles with no health and no idea what -stops- the nightmare.

in my opinion, it actually is horribly difficult. in vs, we rarely make it through there. you just gotta get to the (eventual) end of it…following the track the whole time, and there is some sort of button at the end. with so many places to die/get knocked off, it’s tough to get there.

You basically follow the track to it’s end and the switch is in a control booth at the end of the track. It’s a long haul, going up/down/around the track and it’s got to be one of the hardest crescendo’s out there. Smokers/chargers/jockey’s can make your life miserable on that crescendo.

Because it’s shit. Too reliant on being able to quickly turn in any direction. I’ve tried the demo on 360, and it was horrible. And I like Modern Warfare on a console.

I have no idea what happened to the server… I have checked and rechecked the files, and for whatever reason, people can’t join it anymore. When I have time I’ll look a little closer at it, but for now I am taking it down.

Edit: When I double-clicked the VPK file, it extracted to Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\addons\550. I’m not sure what that means, but it’s different.
