I would get this within 10 seconds of it being loaded on the server.

Achievement ideas for when the plugin gets updated:

Death March: Charge 10 survivors to their instant death.

The Long Walk: Be the only survivor to make it to the safe room after the first died before 50% through the level.

I’d like a link to that, the cheapest I found was like 50 and that’s another refurb. The normal price is 70-100 bucks which is hard to justify when I already have a router and the only improvement would be the ability to play L4D2.

Did you already open the Steam ports?

The router just periodically drops off of the network list sometimes. It’s not so much about the ports as I don’t know what the fuck is going on, all the computers in the house are hit at the same time when it happens whether they are watching a youtube video, surfing, or not even using the internet.

I’ve made some more changes to c2m2_fairgrounds, adding two dynamic alternative paths… Both are fairly difficult (especially the second one) but I think they are fun to play… Sort of a Screaming Oaks Lite without all the pressure.

Here is the medium path changes:


The entrance to Kiddyland is now blocked… You can jump over the van, but you cannot return. Alternatively, you can climb up the barrier on the left and get on the monorail track.

This is the second way up… over deep into Kiddyland area by the picnic tables and restrooms.

And this the end of the monorail path… As you can see, the peach cobbler area is completely blocked off, meaning you’re going to have to get up there with one of the two ramp areas.

This is the second custom path… (Note, the changes in the previous screen-shots will not take place in this path… So on the server there are now three possible paths, including the original non-edited)


The rooftop bridge to the top of the kiddy-slide is now completely blocked, instead you need to jump out onto this scaffolding and then run back in the opposite direction to the start of kiddyland.

Run past the entrance, into the monorail station. (The station is very bare at the moment… I’ll need to throw some junk in there, just so it’s not completely empty, and a boomer might have a chance…)

Finally, jump out onto the foodcart near the bottom of the slide and continue on to the merrygoround.

I’ll continue to tweak these, let me know if you have any ideas… It’s kind of a time consuming process, though… Just trying to lineup stuff so they are in the right position can take quite a while, considering I’m just doing this all with a plaintext file and reloading the map with each edit…

Well… then get an N router for $5 more. :P

Nice changes there- that first one looks like it has a lot of fun jumps and good views for survivors, and not as fatal as the second one, which seems like all it is missing is for the rail to be over a pit of tanks or lava or something.

How hard is it to edit these maps? are you just popping items in with the editor and using a CAD like system?

I’m still trying to figure out another way to use the monorail… I don’t want to skip that whole back alley area, and you can’t transition directly from the monorail on the roof to the monorail over the slide (inivisible walls I can’t edit! yaay!)

Edit: Actually, I think I have an idea… If I wall off the left side of kiddyland, and force the players along the wall straight to the peach cobbler area, I can leave the rest of the area open and let players climb up the ticket booth ramps if they get pulled on the way to the monorail station.

Nope… More like ‘getpos’ in the console to get the coordinates… and put into a text file ‘Put this model at this position’… Then load it and see how it looks…

This looks fun.

I actually played on a fun modded server recently. No specials or regular infected spawned. Just tanks. The thing is, Tanks just kept coming. And coming. It borked on the coaster level, alas, so we didn’t have to do that with tanks. I’m not sure the finale was doable. The last DK level before finale was awesome though. It took us quite a few tries; we finally realized somebody had to spring to open the gate, and a couple of people needed to serve as tank distracters. The game was spawning tanks in the safe room though (I made it once), so the next time we got that far we knew to draw it out and deke into the safe room.

Running with the tanks needs to be a regular game mode.

I’d play that; it sounds hella fun.

Looks cool Bunny, we’ll need to take another look and see if we can make it that far this time =P

Chainsaw Massacre mutation is live now, should be fun for a run or two.

[li]GodFramesBeGone is gone. I liked the idea of it… But in practice, it basically means a pounce&spit will result in about 50hp of damage with nothing the survivor can do to stop it. And don’t say he could’ve just dodged the pounce… Even Jab gets pounced. :)
[/li][li]Hunter damage is going back to normal. 36 Damage for a pounce, even if there was a lot of timing and skill involved, is just too much.
[/li][li]Running of the tanks is installed But I can’t seem to get two servers to run properly with one running it and one not. Just let me know if you want to play it… admins (and there should be like 8 of them now) should all be able to activate it.

Maybe it’s just that I’m just having a hard time remembering what the saferoom entrance doors looks like and it seems like every finale ends with 3-digit scores… That said, let me know if you don’t like the changes guys. If people want them back, it’s not hard to just change the setting again…

Awesome. We really missed your server in game 1 last night. Blizzard really needs to add ghost flying/infected class switch to the base versus game. Like 2 years ago.
